One of the Greatest of All Time Rock concerts by the Greatest of All Time Rock Band, U2. Sorry, Beatles. Sorry, Rolling Stones. U2 is the best Rock band ever! I was 14 years old back in 1993. RDS live in Dublin broadcast around the world on FM radio. Recorded on cassette tape. Show me a Rock band that can do this today. There are none. U2 set the high bar, and no Rock band will ever reach such amazing heights. Pure energy. The band has been ascending ever since. Thank you, U2. Can't wait for the next album and tour! LOVE, Todd.
I don't think so try Depeche mode instead constant ridicule yet proved everyone wrong and at that time of u2 they were the biggest band around check out devotional tour the biggest cult band in the world always have been bar none Even bono agrees
I agree with much of what you said but ascending ever since ? No, im afraid not. I followed them in the 80's and was a massive fan. They hit the pinnacle with this album and tour. They remained on a plateau for a short while with Zooropa album and 'All that you cant leave behind' but I'm afraid they have been descending into mediocrity ever since. I cannot describe how big a world wide phenomena that the Joshua Tree and Achtung baby albums and tours were. Nothing they have done since comes near.
This is one of the truly remarkable things about The Joshua Tree-if you just listen to the first side, you’re fairly convinced that you’re hearing one of the greatest classic rock albums of all time; but once you hit the second side (beginning with track six, “Red Hill Mining Town”), U2 are playing the phone book. It's only half a masterpiece i think the biggest surprise about The Joshua Tree is that even considering the high quality of Side One (and the nearly historic effect of the first three songs), 1984’s the unforgettable fire is a better album. Plus mixing artistic shoes with activism never works in stage They are two different platforms
Loads of us caught the original broadcast on cassette and did multiple copies. What a great night. Fantastic to see the footage of it. Whoever put this together is a legend!
I was one of those. And I couldn't find my tape since I've moved so much. So happy I found this. I've never seen the footage before. It was an epic concert I only had heard via radio.
1:14:20 I'm sitting here with mild covid, and this made me feel great. I was there that night, and the transition from Bad to Bullet the Blue Sky was fúcking brilliant. It still is to this day.
Fue la mejor gira de U2 de esa década, de muy buen sonido, un escenario enorme e industrial, un estupendo set-list, superior a las que llegaron después con la innecesaria parafernalia.
Sydeny has more zooropa material, which i love but, yeah, this one is a classic. I had this soundboard as a bootleg CD in 1994 and listened to it hundreds of times.
I read Bill Flanagan's book "U2 At The End Of The World" which is about this tour. The band had him follow them around for 2 years and write a fly-on-the-wall account of this tour. Apparently because of the anticipated hysteria that would sweep Dublin in the build up to, and during, these shows Bono's wife and kids went to stay in the south of France to get away from it all. The book gives lots of behind-the-scenes details. I recommend it.
This was broadcast live in America on Westwood One radio. I was moving into my dorm for my junior year in college. My college was about 75 miles from Cleveland, where the radio station was located, so I had a huge antenna out the window of my 9th floor dorm room and cassette tapes recording it. I listened to those tapes for years. U2 at their peak.

While I’ve always found PopMart more visually impressive, there’s no denying this is one of the finest shows they ever did. Certainly the best of ZooTV. If I could go back in time to see them, I’d go to Red Rocks first, then this second. They were seriously on their game when this happened.

And August 28 is my birthday!!!
I love that transition from 1:45:30. I too had this recorded on a cassette via the radio. At that time it was said this might be the last show.
What a weird, wonderful and sometimes creepy show this was. The media saturation screen images were haunting. It’s a night I’ll never forget.
Love this show! First Time and Unchained Melody, yes please!
Que tiempos!!! Me encanta cuando canta el estribillo de Ultraviolet, Baby Baby light my way al final de la canción. Es desgarrador y dramático, con una pasion increíble 😢Como emociona y llena de sentimientos encontrados. U2 Siempre
Wow Edge's guitar licks at the end of Ultraviolet are next level on this, has he ever played it like that since?
Probably doesn't remember how to 😉
El mejor Tour de la historia de U2.
Bono getting the bridge sections of Zoo Station the wrong way round and carrying on like a pro. Greatest band in the world.
Yeah I thought he got them wrong. I was singing along, and I thought I got them wrong at first. 😂 shows you how pro he is!
Thanks for the upload. Bono is in great voice at this show!
While I’ve always found PopMart more visually impressive, there’s no denying this is one of the finest shows they ever did. Certainly the best of ZooTV. If I could go back in time to see them, I’d go to Red Rocks first, then this second. They were seriously on their game when this happened.
New Year’s Day sounds amazing 👌🏻👌🏻
Awesome video and sound 👍 Can hear Bono's guitar 👌 Thank you for posted it!
Awesome!!!!!!!!
This was my first ever rock concert, never topped.
beautiful Stay
wow naomi campbell jumping on stage :D
At that time she had a story with Adam
I have this bootleg. Masterpiece. I would love wowy with the end 'one at Washington DC. A zoo tv reload 2023? I saw this tour at Nantes . They showed the champion s league Marseille milan on screen 26th may 93. I went with renaudeau Cholet school bus🙂
To me, this is the second best concert since Under a blood red sky (1993)
Fantastic!
Late to the party but massive thank you for this.
It’s a shame the video doesn’t include the crew confession box interviews during the break before Desire. They were great.
Best show ever
What a gift this is thanks 👏👏👏
Honestly this could quite easily be a studio recording! How did you get such good audio quality???? AMAZING!!!!
Lol this the the most common u2 bootleg, an old radio broadcast with perfect quality.
