When they were moving that safe, it wasn’t no need for any talking. They knew what they were doing. They worked in concert with one another. I had a high outside paint partner like that. No talking. We knew what we were doing.
I leave the box on do I don't scratch up the product, you need more than 1 strap as well. I have a power mate electric dolly that climbs the steps by itself with a press of a button, it has a break on it and it climbs steps and goes down steps, it has a raising lift on it as well.
I moved mine alone with an appliance dolly. I took the door off and re-boxed it to protect the paint. The door is 1/3 of the weight. Moved it down a flight of stairs alone. Not a big deal. Surprised it wasn’t scratched to hell from scraping it across your steps.
That had to been close to 600 lbs. worth of men to move that safe. Great work guys. My son and I once did a 850 lb gun safe with an appliance dolly and our Tommy Gate on an F250. It was tough but no steps at all. We are only 350 lbs combined. LOL. That extra size and strength helps.
We own a 32 guns safe it weight 450 pounds we moved to north Carolina we had 4 strong man to help unload one of my favorite gun is my traurus judge 45/410 long Coit but my wife says it is her gun I was very Impressed How you sharpen chainsaw change My father would use a electric chainsaw sharpener Watching you sharpen chainsaw chain Reminded me of my father when I would watch him keep up the great work last tater
I've used that same dolly dozens of times. One time we had to bring a 1200 lb equipment rack up 4 flights of steps. Like you said even with the motor it still takes a lot to move things that heavy.
I used a ultralift for 8 years delivering safes. I only used it when climbing steps. It was much faster to use the flat furniture dolley they also sell. You can't turn tight corners when it's on the untra lift. Also you can't bring it back over with a low ceiling like in a older home. I would guess that I used the ultra lift less than 10 percent of my deliveries. We delivered liberty 50 safes this size and bigger heavier every day with no problems.
Good afternoon Mike, I’m hoping to possibly startup a safe moving business from scratch. I have lots of experience moving things but of this heavy nature I would need to plan for getting the right tools, having an extra hand available, and charging a fair price. I was wondering if I could pick your brain on this sometime. I would really appreciate hearing some of your stories. Thank you
They did a great job except for uncovering the safe in the driveway. Anyone passing now know there are guns, valuables, etc. in the house and make it ripe for a break in. They could have waited until it was inside before taking the cardboard off.
I move boiler sections up and down sets of steps a lot thru out the heating season and the Front and Rear sections are almost 900 pounds and the intermediate ones are 550 pounds . I have had to go down three sets of steps or up steps and we are just using a hand truck with no motor. Me and another guy at work can get these things moved around but I’m getting old and the other guy isn’t to far behind me . Now my boss will buy any tool if we don’t abuse it and use it properly but for some reason he will not get a stair climbing hand truck . We also don’t have a liftgate on our trucks so we could use the handtruck to get stuff off they have a fork lift kit that clips onto your handtruck turning it into a forklift capable of lifting 1200 pounds . I guess a blown out back or a bad work injury is going to have to happen first and than when he sees the cost of the injury which will be in the 100’s of thousands of dollars vs 3000 dollars he’s going to wish he listened and purchased the handtruck.
I own two safes about half size. Have them bolted to the floor in difficult to access ground floor closets. Not a fan of battery operated locks. @@roqy9247 it depends on the company. We do this all day and can move a 1000+ lb safe from house to house in a average of less than a hour total with just 2 guys. Another company in town uses 4 guys and it takes them 2 to 4 hours. Their labor cost force them to charge more. Sometimes I actually feel bad to collect 275 dollars when it only took us 30 min to move a cheap 400lb safe.
Do you have an office in southern maine, York or Portsmouth NG? We need to move a vermont castings 350lb ish stove down off the second floor deck to ground level. No clue how to do this safely?
Did you happen to notice what the safe was sitting on in the bed of the truck? The safe will easily slide on that type bed mat. Why would I lie about the weight? You can easily jump on liberty’s website and fact check me to see the weight without feeling like you have to pop off in the comments about it.
@jern6137 I said the exact same thing, I have a 1200lbs safe & even on the truck bed it won't slide like that. All 1/2" harden steel, I can't even tilt mines, there's no way.
Good evening. Them boys, you buy drinks, snacks, heck anything else. Even with a motorized hand truck/dolly, they stout. My arms, shoulders, back, hips and legs, I'd be in fetal position crying lol.

That dolly is an awesome piece of kit, having the right equipment makes the job much easier and safer.
Very professional job.
You aren’t kidding about those guys. Even with that motorized dolly you still need muscle to finesse that thing around.

In most houses, you can't get the box off the safe indoors without cutting it off. Maybe not cut it off to save the box for another purpose.

Was thinking the same thing! As well as making sure both the address and features of his house were very noticeable in this video recording! Smh
Then you’ll bitch about how grandma’s favorite rug got marks in it
Should have left the carboad on the side against the dolly so it didn't scratch it..... also should use another strap...
Dolly of the year
I learned that safes are not for diyer's to move! Pay the delivery service and stay out of the emergency room. Not a good day when it falls on ya.
if one of those falls on you, youre not gonna have to worry about an emergency room, just life insurance
I agree. I literally had to carry a 400 on a second floor boy it was a pain. I could only imagine with 1000 lbs safe
I hope you gave these guys a nice tip!
I delivered safes for 8 years and the best tippers were middle class people. Rich people were the worst and most unthankful people we worked with.

Interesting you put it in your house. Here in Colorado it seems most people put it in the garage. Humidity is no issue here.
It is the opposite here, the humidity is high all time.
Just threw my back out trying to get my 500lbs safe up a single step. Ima have to see if I can hire someone to drive out here and do it for me.

Just my opinion, that strap should be a few inches from that combination control.
Man i need one of those dollies. I have to move those things with a regular hand dolly and pure will. Just cant afford the couple thousand for one 🥴
