I have the Z1 Pro street R190 and I really like the increased traction especially when the traction is turned off 😂. I do daily my car and it’s been almost a year now with no issues or noises.
I'm getting the ams performance LSD installed currently. Once I have my baby back I'll make a video for you guys as a review on their Q50 LSD. Great video💪🏿😎
I have the Quaife LSD on my Infiniti Q50S Hybrid and I couldnt be happier. Quaife one of the best and most renowned LSD manufactures in the world also make an LSD for the Q50 and its one of the quitest and smoothest out there. Also with the LSD the car is much more easy to daily and drive more spirited thanks to the increase in traction and it’s operation. Now if you buy the right LSD and one that is proven like Quaife has been in the industry, you will love your Q50 and have no complaints as a daily car.
A limited slip diff should be just fine for dailey driving I'm getting the same kit soon since I just pretty much finished the 400hp kit now I need an LSD and a tune
An LSD is absolutely fine for daily driving. I think I said in the video that every RWD car should have an lsd. Open diff is nonsense. You’ll be happy with 400hp and lsd!
I would imagine its like every or close to every lsd. I think people assume it might be a welded diff. On a side note I drift my open diff and its still holding up, not as fun as an lsd going for drawn out turns, but goes around sharper turns fine but trends to over steer a bit. All stock baby..... sadly....
@@SpeedCultureStudios Not skills, lack of carefulness behaviors 😅. I pull one in a random parking lot sometimes with my girl, supersized I still have her after 5 years and waking up to that lol
You can but you need the factory spider gears shaved down. If you can’t do it or don’t have a machine shop near you that can it’s best to get the gears also
Do you have some ideas, whether they'll ever make a cheap, similar to the one you installed lsd, for us manual guys as well? The price is great and even though I have the factory 3,692 rate 370z VLSD in my 2nd gen G35S sedan, would love to upgrade it... Maybe even to change it to a 3,9 final drive as well, but nothing is available on tractionconepts...
You can ask them directly about it. They are good at making things happen. The only potential issue I see is that the vlsd is a different design than the open diff so I’m not sure it’s just a plug and play solution like this.
Do you need to buy new gears with this conversion kit from traction concepts, or can you just buy the lsd conversion and use the gears from the factory diff
Is what comparable? The VQ and vr diff are both open. Different gear ratio but still both open. The traction concepts kit I talk about in the video is available for the vr as well, yes.
That’s how manufacturers sell the concept, but if you’ve driven an open diff car in spirited scenarios, you know how unpredictable it can be. Sometimes the rear comes out, sometimes it doesn’t. Sometimes it goes one way then the other the next time. You break traction inconsistently at varying points in the rpm range. It’s a joke
I never said they are terrible! I mentioned a the obvious difference between the two-in a 45 second section-there was no negativity, and it certainly wasn’t the whole video lol. Yours is a prime example of what the q can do with a welded diff. I’ve been following you for a long time and have referred people to your page many times when they ask about drifting a Q. I like to use thumbnails to help promote cool pages. Happy to change the thumbnail and take the shoutout out of the description if you’d like.
No I didn’t say it’s mainly for RWD. I said RWD people are generally the ones that struggle with traction issues. Awd gets better grip off the line for obvious reasons, but if you feel tire slip, then this kit is a good option for you. And if you use code SCS10OFF at checkout you can get 10% off!
If you want some more fun while installing your lsd upgrade your gears as well. 4.08 gears are fun. Yes u lose mileage, top end speed, and tires. However, u gain quick acceleration, 1st -2nd becomes ungodly fun, 3-6th gear are better in my opinion with 4.08. mpg is 1 down at 80mph(gps), around town 3-4 mpg lost.
@@SpeedCultureStudios they can but q60 does not have many options. 3.133 seems to be the numerically highest gear set ATM. Sad times!!! Might have to look for other models(SUV, truck) sporting the same rear diff. I have a g37s and got my gears from a low mileage frontier.
@@tp322 so that’s what I mean. The 2014-2015-which is what mine is-has the 3.13 gearing already. The newer models except the red sport has the slightly less aggressive gearing. No upgrade options available.
No it’s not like an lsd. The awd just gets help from the front which gets decent traction because the weight of the engine over the tires. And you have 4 tires trying to pull/push the car forward so traction isn’t as much of a problem

Z1 Motorsports sells a R190 built ready to drop in LSD diff for the Q50/Q60

Technically its a lunch box locker
do you think an LSD would be fun in an AWD q50?
If you need it.

Not if you’re having traction or stability issues
Do you need to buy new gears with this conversion kit from traction concepts, or can you just buy the lsd conversion and use the gears from the factory diff
You can use the factory gears but they have to be machined down.
how is it like to drift or do donuts with the traction concept lsd?
Same as with a typical lsd. Rear end is much more easy to control and much more predictable.
this compatible with the VR30 diff?
Is what comparable? The VQ and vr diff are both open. Different gear ratio but still both open. The traction concepts kit I talk about in the video is available for the vr as well, yes.
Did u buy the 4 gears too or just the kit?
I got the gears as well yes
I got a 2021 3.0t I was wondering which intake is better a takeda or ams and what is the main difference in the two
I’ve heard great things about AMS but I know they can be a bit pricey.
I thought an lsd would make it more dailyable??
More dailyable? I mean I prefer a car with an LSD
Thought open diff is the most predictable by giving less torque to prevent under or oversteer. Is traction concept torsen or clutch type?
That’s how manufacturers sell the concept, but if you’ve driven an open diff car in spirited scenarios, you know how unpredictable it can be. Sometimes the rear comes out, sometimes it doesn’t.
