personally i don’t think the vs algorithm changed. i think that people saw that those copy and paste vs levels were getting popular and plays so they remade their own copy pasta versions to try to get on weekly leaderboards or something. they are really annoying at this point because they are literally ALL THE SAME
It really is crazy how this algorithm they created made this mode so dull and repetitive. I get banning seriously flaws softlock levels, but don’t flood it with 4 way race mode

Tip for des: When you encounter a 1 block gap you should spin jump or lightly tap the jump button and you'll go through with ease

Nope, in one of desbug’s videos ‘toadette’ he mixed most of his videos (mainly multiplayer) and it was around 5-6 hours
