    Skunk on the fishing portion but the ice sculptures were awesome. Fairbanks was the fist Alaska town I every visited. I left the airport and it was -50. I was not prepared for that level of cold. Also went on a dog mushing trip there. That was super cool.
    Great video guys.

    We were in Alaska twice last year and one of those times we went to this. We love Fairbanks btw. Being from MN we are used to that weather, just not the lack of light. But these ice sculptors were awesome. We took this in and later in the night the northern lights. i would have lived in AK if my husband wouldn't have felt like he couldn't get a job there after he retired from the Air Force. He regrets that decision now. lol thanks for posting this a long time ago (i am just binge watching your channel). Miss AK very much.

    Wow such beautiful sculptures ! Here in Edmonton Alberta Canada, we have ice sculptures done as well, and they're awesome! Your lucky to get to see them at night! We weren't so lucky as we forgot about it and went when it was all shut down due to spring, which was causing them to melt! Love your channel!

    Reminds me of the Rockies going from BC through the western states. How small we are when looking up at one of those mountains. It’s a feeling like no other. As a truck driver, I used to travel through the mountain ⛰ province and states . I miss them so much as I live in eastern Canada 🇨🇦. Love your videos. Congratulations on your channel being monetized. Awesome to see your channel taking off. We happily watched 5 minutes of ads in support of you guys. Such a beautiful, amazing, spectacular road trip. Very cool ice sculptures. Hard to pick a favorite but that caged guy was pretty unique. Whenever I have the opportunity to take a shower in a real tub/shower it feels amazing to bask in the hot water. Haha! That was really interesting seeing how you set those lines up. Good practice for next time. Have a good one guys.

    • @SimpleLivingAlaska
      @SimpleLivingAlaska  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Almost Homestead, didn't realize the ads were that long (I thought we just had one at the beginning). Thanks for your support! The ice sculptures were wicked, the one you liked was called "Perspective is key." Don't know if you could see it all that well but there was a person in a cage in a fetal position and then also the same person breaking free from the cage with a key in their hand! Some very talented folks :)

      @AlmostHomestead 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@SimpleLivingAlaska I think youtube increased the ads. Every monetized channel that we watched last night had two ads before the video. Yeah that was cool with the guy on top with the key. Didn't realize it was the same person breaking free but makes sense now. 😄

The out house and all become the norm and the real world showers and flush toilets become foreign after a few yrs... I miss the atmosphere in Fairbanks... small town and very much a bush oriented community, at least it was when I left back when. A couple more times drilling with that hand drill you all will spring for a motor one... LOL zips you right in the holes and makes life so much easier... AIH had them for a long time.
