Lots of Canadian fans here. Your videos always show just how many things need fixing, basically on a daily basis. 59 degree mornings that's 15 C here. That is awonderful way to start the day as it still manages to end up over 80F.

That was always a job I didn't care to do was raising the unloader. We had to hand crank for a few years and then we got a big drill and chucked it on the shaft but could only run it for about 15 minutes then let it cool and repeat. And the old unloader had a big concrete filled saw tooth wheel that drove it around the silo that had to be moved to the center to raise then put back towards the wall when filled. For a few years we didn't have an unloader and used silage forks to throw silage out when we feed. No wonder my shoulders are shot today. Manure, silage, corn, oats, snow everything was Armstrong powered. Lol that was old style farming.

Hi, I’m just a city boy, never worked a farm but always loved being out in the country by farms when I can. I have a couple questions, how long do you generally have the cows for? If I had a farm, I would have a hard time having livestock, because they would become my pets. It is appear to to me that you really love these cows by the way you take care of them, do you have a hard time letting them go when they are done? Do you bread the cows, or just buy them from someone else? Thank you for everything you guys do for the rest of us, I just cannot get over how much work you do everyday, I’m tired just watching you work, now I’m ready for a nap! Lol seriously though, God bless you and your family! Would love to see your farm someday, but I’m in Michigan, so probably will be a while!

very good Eric. I wasn't sure how a silo works. 20x72, wow! Can that equate to so many acres? Or does that vary, per crop? The cows are my favorite part. That new cow that wasn't on her bed, will you halter her then tie her for a night or 2 on the bed? The floor she was on looks comfy, looks like thick rubber. So she's probably comfy anyway. Gotta go, I'll write more later. very good video. thank you eric

Thanks to your videos Eric, I'm learning more about dairying all the time. Two questions: 1. Is that a bag of lime that you split open and add to the bedding? 2. When the silo is full and you start using the unloader, do you have to climb up and close each door as the blower moves below it or do the doors stay open until you're ready to fill the silo again next season?
