Been listening to Hop since 2013, and this was the first song of his I heard. My friend at college showed me the video when I was in a hole, and the 1st verse specifically made me rethink my path in life. I know I’m not the only person who has felt targeted by this song, as that was definitely Hop’s intention with writing it. Dude is a genius producer and artist. I cannot recommend enough the Ill Mind Series. There are currently 9 of them, and Hop said in an interview that he’s going to make a 10th and final one soon. 5 will always be my favorite, but 7 is a close second as I went through a similar dilemma around 2015, and 6 hits home since I had a few friends go through the subject of that song. Hop speaks the truth, often the truth that people don’t want to hear, but the truth they need to hear. I’ve seen nearly every reaction to this vid on YT, and I dug yours the most. as someone who smokes weed to help my chronic pain.. i agree and disagree w your statement. i feel it depends on the person. i’ve tried everything under the sun to stop my pain and only weed has done that for me. i can function without it but i’m in severe pain if i don’t smoke :/
