I just got home from seeing UNSUNG HERO. Loved it and Praising the LORD for the miracles He provided for their needs.
When RSJ quoted Proverbs, "Hope deferred makes the heart sick" I felt that. I've always wanted to be married and to be a mother myself, yet I'm still single and childless. It's hard to watch people (especially people way younger than you) get married and have the life you always wanted. You feel like God forgot about you. But I keep reminding myself that God knows what He's doing in my life. I trust Him.
I’m right there with you sister. I’m single, almost 27, and some days are harder than others. I know God has it all in His hands, but sometimes doubt creeps in hardcore. I empathize and pray that the Lord would continue to give us strength and faith to trust Him.
I feel this very deeply. My story is similar to Rebecca‘s.
I’ve always wanted to be a wife and mom, since I was a kid. Out of all my siblings, I was the most nurturing and just a natural mom. I eventually got married 10 years after my closest friends. Especially being in a Christian world, people around you tend to get married in their early 20s and I didn’t get married until I was 34. I was actually engaged before and called off the wedding a month before. I thank God every day that he had a plan for me. My husband and I have such an ease and comfort and an amazing relationship. He truly is my best friend. And I’m glad I waited for God best for my life.
God has a plan for you, keep holding on.
@@sheriemessier8670 thank you for your encouragement, it means so so so much. What a testimony to His faithfulness. I am praying that He will show up for me in the same way He did for you. Did you meet your husband on a dating app or in person?
Thanks for sharing that, and just to give a bit of hope I didn't have my first child until I was 36 and now have 3. It's hard to do at times but trust God through your journey and he'll give you just what you need. God bless you 🙏🏼😇
Yep, went through that. Was married 33, lost baby at 34, gave birth 36
The anxiety part of her story reminded me of a part of Donny Osmond's story too.
He had a time period that he had to take a break & process some things because of the anxiety that was brought on from stage performances.
That's very interesting to me. I think part of it might also be from the amount of time that you as performers are being vulnerable & pouring into our lives - that Truly God says Hold up you guys need to take a break & let me just fill you for a little while 🫂 🤗
Candace being a promoter of Christ and family really makes her stand out in her field!
Wonderful encouragement for young Mamas! Be kind is a reminder for every woman. Do not criticize other women! Encourage , encourage, encourage!!!! Build each other up. For such a time as this!
When Rebecca talks about how her parents handled the teen years, that’s how we are handling them, that mindset of empowering them to choose and putting the ball in their court.
This is a fantastic movie. An amazing family that endured much disappointment and hardship. Much to learn from their story when you remain steadfast to believe in the faithful one-our redeemer and Lord!
I still love Rebecca and still listen to a lot of her music (mostly on CDs I have). It's so cool that she mentions waiting for her spouse because she wrote a song about it - and praying for him too before she even met him (mentioned in the song). She is a really good definition of a Christian - meaning she really did and still does try hard to live it right. I am not saying she is perfect because no one is; however, she is what I personally consider to be close to it, and for that reason I have always appreciated, admired and respected her so much.
RSJ has such a sweet spirit. I'm so thankful she is willing to be open about her struggles, because it helps others feel not so alone in it. May the LORD bless you both as you serve Him! ❤🙏😇
My 2,4,6 sat through it not one peep glued to this movie
Oh, my heart goes out to Nadia! I too struggled with getting pregnant. I had "unexplained infertility", which was even more frustrating when there is nothing wrong they could find to fix! It was so hard watching what seemed like everyone else get pregnant but me. But I gave my desire to God and poured myself into throwing baby showers for those ladies and held on to the hope for my own some day. I would encourage you to be the awesome Auntie to your nieces and nephews. Show them all the things you want for your own child to come and wait for the desire of your heart to be fulfilled when and however God brings it to you!
I love the honesty in this and to see that our value is in Jesus and not in how much we can do...I also experienced the burn out in ministry and feel like God is leading me into the unknown.
Candace, what you said about teens being intentional about who they're influenced by is key. I don't think this could be emphasized enough. As parents, encouraging good Christian friends is vital for teens.
Love Candace and Rebecca St. James. I have listened to Rebecca since I was a teenager. I love her faith and csn now say I am learning so much from both of you. Thank you to you both. Love your relationship with your mom and siblings. Love to you both! My faith has gotten stronger ❤
My three little girls had to take a nap every day. I took a nap at the same time. I told them they had to stay in their rooms for an hour, even if they didn’t sleep❣️I also traded babysitting every week with my cousin who had 3 children❣️💕🥰💕
I Love the talk about the kids. Sometimes I feel successful to some degree simply cause their all still alive & survived their childhood years lol 😅
Such an awesome movie!!!
I found with my child, grandchildren, or even my unruly high school students music to be a soother. Not just any music, but instrumental classical music (there are even Christian lullabies that might work, if words are not detracting) worked wonders. Not played loudly, but just loud enough it forces them to be quiet to hear it. It’s good for their brains and rest. Jesus Loves Me has been the lullabye in our family for a couple of generations. Babies WILL sleep if the routine becomes constant. Good luck to that sleep deprived mom.
I have to say, Candace is the real deal. While she was talking about something, i just thought to myself she really does live it out. Im sure shes not perfect lol, but she lives it out. I know this by her business decisions, her social media. Shes the real deal. Very vibrant. Very convicted. I have mad respect for her. ✊🏻
Hope to see this movie, it Sounds Fabulous 👌 👏 ❤ Praying for its Success 🙌
I used to cry & sing with my babies when they weren't sleeping well. I also would sing Jesus Loves Me to them as well & make my own verses. I often would feel like I was singing the Jesus Loves Me more to myself than them, trying to reassure myself & rocking them & hoping I don't go crazy lol
Thank you for sharing and caring mommy Candace
Candace, when you were able to set this up, were you geeking out? 😊 I saw Rebecca St. James once in concert and got to meet her. Her devotional was the first online purchase I ever made.
I really enjoyed your podcast! I love Rebecca's music and can't wait to see "Unsung Hero!" May God bless both of you precious ladies and your ministries for Christ!
I can’t wait to see the movie!!
Thank you ladies for sharing your testimonies and life experiences. Although I feel alone during this season of motherhood, I know I can always count on you gals sharing insight and perspective to make me feel like I’m not alone and to equip me for this journey. I’m so excited to sing with Rebecca and her brothers in the First Baptist Dallas Choir this Sunday. And I pray all the ladies and families out there are able to come check out your film screening this Sunday in Dallas! God bless you all! Praying for lives to be touched with these podcasts, the music and the film. ❤
So good. Valued just as we are. Praise The Lord. Accepted always. 😢
Looking forward to this movie when it comes to theaters! They played it at my church but I didn’t get a chance to see it.
I have got to go see this movie
Same here. I actually got a picture with Rebecca in my scrapbook. Along with a couple of other performers. She was so sweet. Hi Rebecca. I saw you at the Vineyard book store years ago. Thanks for this enterview Candace
@@amytoon1815I did meet her at the concert I went to. I totally forgot, cuz it was such a surprising moment.
Thank you!! ❤❤❤❤
Really loved this ep! Thanks so much! You're both so beautiful inside and out! God bless you both ❤
Will there be any mention of Carman Licciardello, the singer, since he helped to sponsor them to the USA? I think it would be really cool if there were a short tribute in the movie about it! Congratulations on the movie!
Must see movie!!!❤
Wow, this was such a good podcast. I came across it by accident but I’m so glad I did.
Good advise candace not having experienced Nadia's pain. It's also hard to express the pain as you don't want others to feel guilty for having a family.
hey girl- Ooh I really enjoyed this!😀😉 I have always liked Rebecca😁 The movie sounds really good😊
❤❤

Hi Candance, will the movie be available at streaming?
Yes it will once it leaves theaters - keep your eyes open for the streaming announcement when it comes!
Which state did they move to when they arrived? Was it Tennessee
In the movie, it was Nashville, TN.
As a teen all I remember about her was dating was bad.
Such a random question: does anyone know the exact code for ranchers? I tried candy and no luck.
Candy is what she said the code is
It was about 25 min into the show😊
Awesome ladies. I just missed how/if candace is involved in this film . Is she producer?
She’s the sweet wife of the church friend the music writer and they both financially helped them (she had brown curly hair and country southern accent) she the one who invited them for Thanksgiving dinner!
And yes she is Producer.

Is this movie appropriate for young kids-10 years old?
Yep, my 2,4 and 6 were glued to the screen. It's watching a normal 90s family love one another and work hard. It was a great influence on them
@ RSJ did you ever reset being 2nd mamma to your brothers.
Why did Rebecca change her name to St. James and the mom and siblings have their original name?
If you watch the movie, you will learn why. It’s a great movie. if you get a chance, go see it.
The producer didn't like her last name. He wanted St. John. She decided on the James is part in honor of her grandma James her died near the time she started professionally sing
Surprised no one commented on this. The quality coming from Rebekah’s audio is awful. There’s this harsh puff of air when she’s speaking 😞
Was Eddie DeGarmo really that big of a jerk to you guys? I found that very disappointing.
I did not find him to be a jerk. He was woken up from sleep. And was talking to a person who had no trust in them. At least in the movie. He was kind to them after.
