Other than Money/Career USA has nothing else to offer. It is a horrible place to live, it is shallow there is no meaning other than consumerism and constantly buying the new gadget.

Happy to hear! Most podcasts are actually majorly about cultures and mentality. That is what drives me to create these 😀

Her observations about Spain are a bit too simplified in my opinion, for example relating to bullfighting. For many people all over Spain bullfighting isn't a big thing and are rather against it. It's not only Catalonia. Her view is a bit annoying, I think, as if only Catalonia were a more progressive place.

that chick is suspect. She doesn't even look like a Catalan, nor speak like one who are regional and proud of their unique culture. Is she an actress?

Something was weird about her. She doesn't even look anything like a Northern Spaniard, who look a lot like the man in my thumbnail. She looks mestiza from LATAM not Spaniard. I have even met people who's all sets of parents were from Barcelona and I told them that they were a northern Spaniard and they said I was right. I can just tell and this lady just doesn't look like she's a Catalan. Look at John Casablancas that looks very Catalan.

That lady is an imposter. Not only does she NOT look like a Catalan, she is using Andulucian stereotypes to describe Catalonia. There are Catalan young women (who do indeed look like from there) saying they are vehemently against bullfighting in Catalonia and IT IS NOT PART OF THEIR CULTURE. Bullfighting is banned in Barcelona and seen as cruelty...I called it. She is not fooling me one bit. I know Northern Spaniards. 27:50 th-cam.com/video/uHAiMfj4IgQ/w-d-xo.html

I've been living in Barcelona for the past 12 years and I really don't feel like she is describing the same reality, whether it be for dating, open-mindness etc... It is really a biased view on the place and full of prejudices.

There are some young women who do in fact look like they can be from Catalonia and they are saying bullfighting is NOT part of their culture and Catalonia despises it. They have banned it and there is no bullfighting... 27:50 th-cam.com/video/uHAiMfj4IgQ/w-d-xo.html

Something to keep in mind is that Catalans are not like southern Spanish or people from Madrid. As a person who has lived both in Amsterdam and Malaga, Catalans are like if a Dutch and a Spanish had a baby, I see characteristics from both sides.

I really enjoyed this video, and I’m glad that you all live in Canada, so I can get her perspective about my country (well I’m originally from Costa Rica). I’ve wanted to move to Spain but some things are not the most ideal for me and my personality because I don’t like to party or drink, and I definitely want commitment lol. Canada has its pros and cons for sure. I love Spain though, so so beautiful, and I would love living somewhere that speaks Spanish. But Canada, the employment and salary thing are great in comparison. The diversity, the safety, raising a family.
    Anyway, interesting video!

Loneliness epidemic seems to be a north american thing. When i listen to people from other countries talk about their social lives, im extremely envious because I live in Canada . People say loneliness epidemic is a worldwide thing, but it doesnt seem like it to me. People live so far away from each other, going out is so expensive and people find me strange when i start conversation.

The portuguese have the exact same culture of getting a beer and a coffee after work or meeting with friends outside for dinner. Maybe things have changed in Lisbon with more tourists moving in, but the culture is quite similar to what she is describing.

It would be much more interesting to hear the experience of a foreign girl/guy living and dating in Spain rather than vice versa especially when this Spanish girl obviously misses her country and only talks about positive things. Regarding directness of Spaniards, I don't think it's quite true. People here are foxing too and say a lot of things they don't mean, they may pretend to like you while in reality they don't, they may promise a lot, invite you a lot but never show up afterwards, that doesn't look like directness or even if this is a directness it doesn't help if their mood changes every second.

God that is really sad to hear about Barcelona going down the hole like that. I personally don't want to visit it as a tourist right away. I really am in to genealogy so I have several ancestors that came from Spain to Mexico and I want to visit the places my ancestors lived first. she is right Mexican men are more romantic but also some are such butt heads in their machismo I can't stand that as a Mexican woman. I see it a lot in my own family that is why I know and just in my cultural generally. I think that it was a good experience to say that all the provinces are different with all kinds of culture. Navarre interests me a lot beause it pratically split between Catalans and the Basque.
