Hi Kris, I like these type of videos. They are very informative and we get to know you better. Thanks for doing the work!
I have 3 shell casings from big artillery. One I keep by my bass drum to hold extra sticks, including my favorite Kriss sticks, (they are everything you said they'd be).
One is a 90mm diameter machined down to 50mm tall and made of brass. Hit it with a stick and it will ring clear and pretty for a looong time.
The other is made of steel and is 610mm tall by 100mm diameter. I hit it with a plastic mallet and get a cool gong sound. Scares the dog real good ;)
Alas, my Ludwig cowbell is cracked, but I have a Meinl in my wish list at Sweetwater, from your list of equipment.
Wearing my sky drum t shirt, waiting for my Krissmas mugs to arrive. When I get my raise next year, I will share it with you! 😉
      Peace,
      Tim 🤘

I've never had the chance to play a kit that has a cowbell and I've always wanted to, so I have to say that the cowbell is my favorite! I just wanna say that I've been watching your videos for a while now and you have really been such a huge inspiration to me❤️ You've put me back on songs that I used to know and new songs and bands that I would probably still not know if it wasn't for you! Thanks Kristina❤️

Drummer of only 3 years here, and percussionist all through out high school. Out of your equipment, I loved the frog! That was an incredible idea. My personal favorite percussion tool I have ever used for sure was conga drums. Best way to help keep a supportive beat, especially when the score we were playing was a swing style 😎. You rock Kriss!

The frogs! I feel like they would pair perfectly with an acoustic guitar! The idea that both could make such melodic sounds really gets my imagination going. The possibilities are endless as I can also picture keyboard and froggy sounds making chill calming music. ✌️

First, serious respect for tackling the English language. It isn’t the easiest language to learn and you’re doing incredibly well. Second, I bought 3 sets of your sticks and I love them. The only time I switch to another stick is if I am playing metal and want a tiny bit more weight in the sticks. Third, you are an awesome presenter and entertainer. Great presentation of the gear and demo of the sounds.
Favorite percussion is the cow bell. I know it’s a boring answer, but, being able to accent with the sharpness of the cowbell just works for me.
You are without a doubt my favorite TH-cam drummer. Smooth, expressive and always have a smile on your face.
    Please keep the content coming
    RESPECT!

My most favourite percussion is the cowbell
I never knew what it was, but when i heard Travis Barker using it in the song "feeling this", it just fascinated me how well it provided a distinct sound yet sat in well with the rhythm. I feel the cowbell should be part of every drummer's kit! It's an amazing inovation and brings out a lot of creativity from the musician. In my humble opinion the cowbell is my most favourite percussion.

Love your videos Kristina! I've always been blown away by the versatility of hi-hats and the combinations you can make. Just like how you added the tambourine to make the typical clicks for time into something more bright and playful. I feel like hats punch way above their typical spot in a set up.

It felt like 1 min video... so entretaining! And as someone who doesn't know nothing about percussion... I've found pretty interesting about tones in shakers... the sandy sound shaker got me, ohh and those froggies where I live you can buy them literally from the sidewalks as they are pretty artesanal, and unique love when they sell them at night it feels like you're walking near a lagoon or something! while you're still on city
    Keep on Drumming! Kriss!

When I was in college I was super poor and could barely afford a guitar, let alone a bass, drums, keyboard, interface, all the other stuff you need to record music. But I wanted to write and record anyway! So I recorded about 4 songs just straight into a Mac without a microphone or interface with a shitty acoustic guitar. For the “drums” I would tap on the laptop with different things to make different sounds. I would use pens, coins, guitar picks, batteries, just about anything I could that would change the sound. Well 10 years later I’m sooooo glad I wrote and recorded those songs despite not having any equipment because I just recently re-recorded a couple of them and the changes are incredible! I’ve since become a better musician and I have ALOT more equipment now! I’ll even send you copies of both new and old versions so you can listen to the wild differences if you’d like them! Thanks for being one of my favorite drummers! You’re awesome!

I used to teach children at an outdoor education center and they had to sign up for a pre-breakfast activity with one of the instructors, and as an instructor I could make up any activity I wanted so I went to the music shop, bought the beefiest drumsticks they had and created “Find-a-drum”!
I would lead the kids around the campus and into the woods for half an hour and we would find things to drum on! Tree trunks, canoes, rocks, drumming inside the covered bridge. It was a lot of fun for the kids (and I had fun as well :)

My favorite percussion instrument is the regular drum set, but I think the most interesting one is the Cuica from Brazil. I have never played one, but I have seen it used a few times. To play it, you rub a bamboo stick attached to the head on the inside of the drum with a wet rag. You can manipulate the pitch by pressing on the head with your other hand. So cool!

Really quick just wanted to say I love your covers, and your passion for drumming! I’d have to say that my favorite percussion instrument would be the ride cymbal. There are so many different sounds you can use with a ride cymbal, and I love the variety. They can have a very intimate and full sound, but they can also be used to jam out! They can be used for any type of music, and it’s really great!

Super late, but my favorite percussion instrument? Five gallon bucket. I tried to teach myself the drums as a youngster, but unfortunately life got in the way. I've worked construction my entire life and when we're a bit bored while on a break I'll fill five gallon buckets to different heights ( usually with dirt or dry concrete ) and have some fun. I'm a jokester, so anything I can do to make everyone laugh or lighten the mood on a stressful jobsite is a win for me.

Sometimes while listening to some music while working, I can't help but create beats by tapping the different sides of my laptop. I use it as my makeshift drums while following the beat of the music. If you know where to tap it specifically, you can create different tones similar to snare, toms, and bass.

I really like to use my tambourine attached to my hi-hat. Ever since I heard John Bonham play Moby Dick on Song the Remains the Same, I always like the idea of keeping time whatever I play using my left foot! The tambourine attached to the hi-hat makes a distinct sound that cuts through everything! So it has to be my favorite piece of percussion. Second place goes to my cowbell set - because there is always room for more cowbell! Love the way you play! Keep it up!

I bought some of those frogs around 1999 in france, it was from a market stall of west African stuff some guys from Senegal ran. Those were really nicely painted as well. They work best if you just hold the back legs, we clamped it to my drum kit like that

Great video. I'd have to say you can not go wrong with more Cow Bells. I love the sound of the dimpled one. Nice deep tone. Keep up the great work.

I like the cowbells most. Because they look super cool and they have different sounds. Also because I don’t have a cowbell and I’m working on Heat of the Moment by Asia and it needs a cowbell.
