I was in the Canadian Reserves when Trudeau senior used the War Measures Act across Canada for essentially a situation in Quebec with the FLQ. His son Justine used the Emergency Measures Act for protests that went on too long, the authorities started off slow but did get there act together and had the resources in place before using the Emergency Act was adopted. The only other times such measures took place in Canada was WW1 and WW2. It’s not lost on me that we weren’t in an actual war and both Trudeaus took such drastic measures to infringe on all Canadians rights. I also saw what the elder Trudeau did to Alberta in the 1970’s and it’s repeating itself.
