I'm here on my smoke break and just saw a $38 tip come in for a total wine delivery. I'm shocked. Wow! Love generous peoole like that. That's beyond kind. Congrats on the good month!

Speaking of that, is there a way to do a custom thank you for the tip? Instead of just clicking , send thanks?

To get 500 in my surrounding areas you have to dash 12 hours a day probably 4-5 days , maybe a little better on weekends.

This is impossible in Los Angeles. $5 Doordash and Uber Eats orders all day out here with a couple $10+ orders here and there. Sometimes I can wait 20 min or more without even 1 offer. It takes me 8-9 hours to make $150-$200 a day.

You need to find a better location and be more picky about your orders then. I door dashed when I visit my kid in Los Angeles and it was an amazing market.

Just did another punch myself in the face with DD... at least, I didn't want to shoot myself in the head. Yesterday was, did one order...McDonald's for five meals and drinks with two extra shakes and three deserts. Total drive of 4.5 miles; wait time in restaurant, 14 minutes. Overall trip time (before my expense) 27 minutes. Pay to me... $2.63. Yeah, I was fucking done for the day.
I started my Top Dasher quest for next month on the third day of this month. Because I know what grinding means to me; I also know what sucker means, and I am playing from sucker position. I know what that will do to my work ethic, my earn ethic... I know that I'm done for the day when a system burns me enough. Uber just gives when my location makes sense. DD apparently has an algorithm that progressively screws everyone who isn't sucker enough.... of which I apparently am on the de-prioritized and screwed side of things. Because all I ever get are sucker offers and 1/5 of minimum wage for my time offers.
It's my goal in May to test this. I KNOW that people make good money on DD. So I will make Top Dasher this month, as a test for next month... but goddammit, the price is well beyond gas and vehicle mileage... it's a mental wall to climb.
Forget my time, vehicle mileage, and forget that this pays my bills when it is profitable enough... how long am I supposed to deliver $50+ orders for less than my own expense before I just say "fuck DD prioritizing" and just drive Uber and Grubhub?
In all the rest of the days left in this month, I got maybe another half dozen half days of being absolutely abused by the DD system, the absolute shit restaurants they nonstop send me to, and the cheaper than cheap shit customers DD sends me to.
I do really wanna check out Top Dasher, even though DD prioritizes. I hate priority on a basic human level. And how miles of shit must I climb through to smell the sweet air? Most importantly, do I want to do any of this for a company that forces me to climb thru shit just to be paid as fair as anyone else who provides a similar service?
I sometimes wonder if DD prioritizing isn't actually discrimination. Certainly feels like it. I do the sme work as you, and just as well. But all DD offers me is shoveling out the latrines, why you get to to eat at the master's table...
I spend my free working time, the time time I'm working, just for free so DD can make money, wondering. What might a class action lawsuit against DD look like when parsed with the phrase "discrimination"?
I wonder these things when I spend 35 minutes of my day waiting for and then driving an order that pays me $2.63 on $50+ worth of food.
