@@JayRoc17 Because he's stupid and can't tell the difference between using a midi pickup and using midi to fake things. I would like to point out that Levi has an abysmal track record with these things. He made a call out video one time calling out "fake guitarists" and pretty much all of them responded with clear demonstrations that their playing wasn't fake.
I've seen Andre fret with his thumb on top of the fretboard (not wrapped over the top) like it was one of his fingers. I believe I first saw him do that on a Surh amo demo video several years ago. He's a beast!
Mishoe was my first teacher and still dear friend.......... amazing human being and way ahead of his time. He doesnt have enough stuff on youtube for you guys to even fully understand. Savage chops!
@@scottwaszak698 Hmmm. Mancuso sounds like a fingerstyle version of Guthrie Govan and Eric Johnson to my ears. Which isn’t a bad thing at all but imo the hype is by far a bigger deal than any of the music he’s recorded.
@@dreamofdragons3424 None of these guys have recorded anything worthwhile. They're just virtuoso guitarists sans any ability to write songs; so no one outside of guitar geeks cares, at all.

Shes super close, she reminds me of someone whose really really good and advanced super creative and technique very very good, but it's like just a few levels beneath top tier elite if that makes any sense, could be wrong though either way its neat stuff and she does it all on her own and all that. She also seems to play on subpar Equpment as well which is also impressive like no fancy gear for her at all.
Just about anything that anyone plays in this video can be duplicated with enough practice, but not so with Marchbank. He is honestly the only person, who can play the stuff that he plays at those speeds!
Yes, ANYONE can learn to play fast guitar. However, as Shawn Lane pointed out in one of his interviews, some people are genetically gifted with next-level fast twitch muscle fibers and brains whose neurons and axons work harder than 99.999999% of the population! I can physically play as fast as anyone, as I have a genetic gift to do so. BUT, I CANNOT compose music or improvise like the legends- Shawn Lane, Holdsworth, Marchbank, etc. When I was 16, I could play as fast as I wanted. But after many years I realized I had just memorized cool sounding scales and licks. I decided at that point to focus more on trying to compose music, and let the “difficulty” only be present if I felt the song would benefit from it. I appreciate the most those with technique AND the ability to create memorable pieces. I love to be inspired by all these incredible players!!! One day, I hope to accomplish my lifelong dream of writing a song which is perfect emotionally AND technically. :)
Scotty MIshoe (that's what we used to call him) was from Virginia and he was well known in the Norfolk, Hampton area in the late 80's. My old guitarist knew him and has some tapes of some of his stuff and it was way ahead of it's time back then. Some really crazy stuff.

Marchbank is probably the most technically advanced guitarist on the planet but what I dig about him is his creativity and that I know it’s him when he plays. No offence to the other incredible talent on this. I think young Matteo is still developing his voice but my god what a player he is!
No how the f*’* is that even possible lick. Takes more than just 500:000 hours practice. I was listening to yng -yang malmsteen Alcatraz’s rising force first released. I listened to shrapnel guys on mike varney label mid eighties (except Shawn lane I missed in sea of guitar players). I had micheal Angelos first vhs tape starlicks 87 before ‘speed kills’ came out in 91. What I’m sayin is those elite shredders from the eighties remained on top for decades. But compared to MODERN GUITARIST the 80s shredders are No longer elite guitarist. It comes from the underrated word called ‘TALENT’ musically gifted. Musically gifted are not awkward with instrument. They automatically have an ear’ pick out simple Melodie’s within first hour picking up guitar first time. Musically gifted are also blessed with natural rhythm. They don’t practice dancing in front mirror before prom. They just do it. laughing at you
@@dreamofdragons3424 I'm aware of SJ since his debut album came out, thanks. For clarification: I'm talking about the guitarists featured in the video. No SJ whatsoever.
the unknown Italian Danielle Gottardo puts everyone to shame in four finger tapping, his track "Cardiology" is absolute insanity and the greatest guitar performance i've seen since first hearing Cliffs of Dover.. but i'd say Stanley Jordan pretty much created this technique and is the genesis. Helmerich's lines are pure athletic gracefulness, he's got some of the nicest runs ever I agree.

Roy Marchbank's like, hold my pint...musicality and out of this world chops for days.
amen
Marchbank is a an insane guitarist and composer. I just learnt he plays fingerstyle classical and flamenco just as well. That’s nuts!
I’ve known about Marchbank for a long time now and he still blows my mind every time I hear him
Roy is a very interesting musician. Magical
I don’t know why Levi Clay (the great transcriber) says Marchbank’s playing is fake, like sped up or something?..??.?

Yooooo Scottie Mishoe is here as well❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
We see so many of these players with YT. They’re all unbelievable. But also a reminder that great songs trump virtuoso technique.
Hit me right in my brain, every single note.
For those who got tired of practicing the same arpegios every day there you are haha. Man, thanks for that, those are gems!
So nice to see a brazilian guy on this list. We have a lot a great guitar players here, and makes me really proud!
Musicality is so much more than speed on the fretboard. Sometimes it seems to me like a 100 meter race that you want to run under 8.0............

3:30 when bass players choose guitar instead of bass 😀 Awesome technique!
Sergey Mavrin - russian guy, quite old !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! His left hand is slightly paralyzed, but his technique is crazy!
I’m a huge fan of technique and quick playing, but not sure how appetizing Roy’s lines sound, idk
His tone is wack. Sounds like midi
But in the end there was only one Allan Holdsworth.
A world without Coltrane…Can you imagine a Holdsworth?

TJ Helmerich is technique wise by far the most far out. Everyone else is just doing typical guitar techniques ad extremo.

Yikes! That looks like a workout 😅
Just speed.....booring...
