I keep looking for the fourth and fifth bald guys and can't find them. How are they creating such a wall of sound with three guys??? I have been listening to this band obsessively since SIDABS and can't wrap my head around this only being three guys the entire time. Wtf.
You can manipulate the sound for duals like psyroptic using delay but this is way more dense but playing in time with back tracks,singing and guitar would suck ass 😂 Respect✊
Objective truth Subjectively, it's my single favorite death metal album of all time, and I'm not even a huge dissodeath guy. Ulcerate is literally the only dissodeath band that makes me feel anything

The post was on Jan 13 mentions Ulcerate(among other bands) are recording/putting final touches on their albums and will be released this year! Here’s to hoping everything goes smoothly and we get new material in 2024
Whole record is a masterpiece, crown jewel of their discography. They said this is the last leg of their touring for this album cycle then they’re heading back home to write the next record. Can’t wait to hear that thing.

As a drummer I personally prefer playing in bands that just have one guitarist. A 4 piece is fine, it's just actually kind of hard to find 2 guitarists on the same page musically from experience.
Lost the muted alternate picking in Dissolved and Stare, but this is the best sound quality I’ve heard on a live metal video in a while. Of course, I’m listening on my phone, so maybe headphones will reveal more attack during the “chunky” riffs. Ulcerate’s best work here 🤘
20:18 .. favourite Ulcerate passage. Saw them live in 2022 and experiencing Dissolved Orders live was sublime. One of the greatest metal bands ever and Jamie is probably the most versatile, groovy and dexterous extreme drummer alive.
I love cool bass lines that cut through the mix. And yet I have a ton of respect for the garbled low rumble of Ulcerate's bass, because it feels like it suits this very unique band so well.

This Concert slipped into my autoplay and I've been listening to nothing but Ulcerate for the last two weeks. Can't believe I didn't give these guys a shot for over a decade now. Shame on me. Sidenote: am I alone in considering this to be BM? At least not tech-death, "avant-garde" ok. But dissodeath isn't a genre as far as I'm concerned
They definitely injected some BM on their latest two. Maybe latest 3? I haven't listened to 'Shrines' in a while. I think they've made their own..Atmospheric/Tech/Dissonant Death lane. I don't know of bands that sound similar to their current sound.

I think they only have couple off segments in down tempo.....maybe is the unorthodox chords and dissonance that make the music so damn "slow" ...because jamie's drums are anything but😅
Is just a logical Evolution of their already fucking Legendary sound....still damn Incredible....i LOVE how they don't play It safe...as they put It on a 2017 interview...they had explore Everything that works in the absolute caustrophobic dissonant sound...so is logical the melodic but still dismal sound ...listening in that context is Amazing...Exhale the ash and Drawn into the Next void are fucking addictive ...also the melodic monstrosity that is Dissolved orders at 4:40 minutes ...one of the most Beautiful Amazing dissonant mellodic manipulations only comparable to Abscission by DSO..
The drummer is a masterclass. The rest are boring yawns that belong with the rest of a tired genre that has lost its inventiveness among the first 3 chords played on a bar stool.
JSMerat is outstanding. But they are all true masters of their craft. A live trio reaching such tension and hypnotic density of sound is just out of this world.

Pretty sure they run a couple backing tracks for layering, as well as looping stuff. JSM has things down to a science back there.

I didn't know there were only 3 guys as Ulcerate live members. Such chaotic and hipnotizing music masterfully done.
Yeah. I don't know much about live performances (behind the scenes) but they've stayed as a live 3pc for many years now.
Their sound guy is 4th member of the band, but they use loopers and rest of equimpent to the absolute maximum.

It's not uncommon to use tracks for the other guitar layers. Or other instruments/synths/orchestra in general
