@@robpaxson4455 Well the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame is 25 years after the release of their first album, so to me, 5 seems too short. I think the fragrance should prove it's staying power. If it's able to stay relevant for long time, it's proved it's a classic.
@@Olm9 I don't have much experience with LNDL (it is really nice though) or the EDP, but I can speak to it and the le parfum. The EDP keeps the signature l'homme DNA but adds a slight sweet and a noticeably boozier tone (so it seems to have a larger presence on skin...still not overly strong but definitely more of an evening scent). The Le Parfum really does smell like l'homme and Y edp blended (so it smells like l'homme on fresh linen). Very clean and pleasant and again slightly stronger than the original.

OG ADG definitely deserves to be in the hall of fame. To me, it's the perfect candidate for this, along with choices like Dior Fahrenheit, scents that completely defined the landscape for a time.
Oliver Creed is credited as the perfumer behind the iconic Aventus but there are talks and even a book out about all that being a lie. That the true developer and originator is someone else but Oliver and family are getting all the credit. Thus the term ghost perfumer
Well I would vote for Quorum. It's the one that made me think about starting a collection. I think I'm less than a year into it and my collection has grown to 35 mostly (but not exclusively) inexpensive middle eastern clones and twists.
DHI is apparently getting discontinued.. I’m not 100% but I red this over on one of chaos fragrances videos and just incase grabbed a few 5.0 oz bottles.. ash have you herd this also?
@@generalgrievous2438 Absolutely agreed, but even if you smell an older batch now, it won’t have the same effect/impact because of all the bias people have and how used to the DNA we all are now. It’s kinda like listening to Hendrix and being all “ah he’s over-rated, there are teenagers on TH-cam who can play better than him now!”.... it’s like, unless you were actually there, you’ll never realise just how game changing he was and what an impact he made. If you were there before the hype, before all the clones, before all the hate, and you smelled one of those early batches of Aventus... honestly, it was in its own league and nothing else came even remotely close.
Absolutely and while it’s in vogue to hate on it now, it’s impact simply can’t be overstated. You can look at how many clones it inspired, you can see how men it got into niche houses. It changed everything in the industry.
The first 10 Ten class to go into the HOF would be as follows: *4711 *Original Old Spice/Shulton *Aramis *Polo (Green) *Creed Green Irish Tweed *Acqua Di Gio *Creed Aventus *Bleu de Chanel *Versace Eros *Dior Sauvage
It can happen to most scents, for instance Sauvage Elixir will make me go nose blind to it if I spray on my chest or near my nose. But even so BR540 is unique. The first time I wore I opened with perfume alcohol and then nothing. It wasn’t until much later the saffron came. Even then, I could sense a vague scent cloud but no scent. It was so odd.
So it can happen with any scent. Some notes are inherently easier to go nose blind to than other notes. But the biggest factor in play is where you spray . The places to AVOID spraying are directly under your nose. Do not spray on the Adams apple area of your neck or on your chest and you’ll have a much lower chance of going noseblind! Behind the ears and either on the shoulders or collar bones are the best places :)
I don't think anybody cares what the masses think should go in the Hall of Fame. We only want to know what Ash personally thinks should go in the Hall of Fame, because we came to his channel, we trust his judgement due to his extensive experience with fragrances. The average person has not smelled, applied nor analyzed a tiny fraction of what Ash has, so how can their opinions be equalled to Ash's? We just care about Ash's personal preferences and what he thinks are great fragrances worthy of all-time classic Hall of Fame status. So this would mean that if Ash likes Profondo better than the original Acqua Di Geo, then we don't care if the original was very influential historically or if the masses seem to like it (most of these people would not have even smelled Profondo in order to make the correct judgement), we only care about what Ash thinks are the great fragrances. So Ash, please do not allow the ignorant masses to water down your Hall of Fame with mass-appealing mediocrity. At the very least, keep your personal Hall of Fame list separate from any public Hall of Fame list, and you can personally grow both lists separately over the years. I personally only want to know what you think are Hall of Fame worthy fragrances so I can buy those. Thank you.

I think that would be interesting considering modern and hall of fame don’t really go together
I think because it smells outdated. Some of these fragrances are older but timeless. I don’t think Drakkar Noir is a classic, it smells outdated and old.
Hall of fame for me would be Drakkar Noir for me. Wore it more than anything else. I also wore Eternity by Calvin Klein and Obsession. What about the original Polo as well?
Ash, I hope you read this and reply. As someone who has multiple bottles of Dior Homme Intense, do you think that the current version that you pictured with the name on the cap smells the same as the previous versions or is there a difference in the scent? Just curious on your take. Was the juice reformulated with the repackaging or is it the same thing as always?
I did a video on the new DHI packaging that you can check out for more detail. There’s a slight difference but 99% of people probably wouldn’t notice or care and part of that difference could just be the age difference between bottles.
I'd probably say Tobacco Vanille over Black Orchid, but I find both great fragrances anyway. Although great fragrances, I was burned out after wearing Dior's Fahrenheit & Larouche's Drakkar after smelling it everywhere I went & recently returned to Kourous, but only for the Winter. During the early 90's, YSL had a fragrance Por Homme which was discontinued & I couldn't find it after Y2K. I'm still a sucker for Halston's Z-14 to wear during Winter months. I've recently bought another bottle of Jaipur by Boucheron & believe they've reformulated it. Maybe after so many years, by body's chemistry has changed, or have they changed?
Green Irish Tweed is the goat of niche. Nearly every reaction I've gotten from others is something to the effect of: "man, you smell amazing." Best $180 I ever spent.
