Thanks Skip, yeah the gearbox is extremely loud. I should probably wd-40 and grease the gears. The newer gears and gearboxes are possibly quieter made of plastic or nylon but I question if they will last and not crack compared to the older metal ones.🤔

Pintle hook. I built an easy eight, from tamiya. They are nice kits. Mine didn’t have the motor, but the hull had some ghosted images where the mounts may have been from previous versions. Merry Christmas David 🎄
Thanks Johnny, I knew the hook resembled a pincer claw but had a memory lapse, which is happening quite often😒Yes some older Tamiya molds you see the opeings where the battery, gear box and switch would have mounted.
That kit has got to be at least 50 years old, great kit for the time, I used the HVSS suspension from one to make an m4a1 76 with HVSS. I think I may still have some of the parts of the kit around some where.
Thanks for watching and commenting. The mold says 1970 on the bottom of the hull. This is an older kit because they were phasing these out as I was getting into armor in the late 70s early 80's. You can still get a motorized Sherman with VVSS. The new ones have a plastic nylon gear and gearbox.😊
@@davidchin350 I have the newer Sherman kit with the VVSS, don't have any plans on building it at this time. I think that the HVSS on that Sherman is a little over scale when compared to the new kits that are out today.
