I've been a follower of Rotary Swing for years and this is the piece that I've missed the entire time. I've always wondered why I couldn't get the consistency even though I felt like I was doing everything right. It was the flat shoulder plane! I worked on this in the mirror, went out to play golf with a group without having played for months and the ball was flying off the club face with accuracy. I just need a few more rounds and range session to dial it in. I can't believe this has been the missing piece for me all this time. So much easier to square the club face, and doesn't require nearly as much rotation. My wrist looks like Chuck's and Tiger's now at the top. Amazing when you know what to do!
Wow, this is great. I definitely was turning with flat shoulders. I did the drill and then hit about 100 balls today focusing on the drill and the results were excellent! Much more consistent contact and ball flight. Thanks Chuck!
I just want to let you know I'm in remission with bone Marrow cancer. Prior to my cancer I was a 6 handicap without a good putting stroke. Bottom line is, I took an online course from you (after my cancer.) One thing I cannot get out of my mind is the merry go round theory. It's been a while since I took your lesson. I just figured out what you met with this swing thought! Great Move! Thanks, Walt
Please clarify which shoulder you prefer to activate the shoulder turn. You recently said the left ( push)in a video but in previous videos it was a pull from the right.
If you initiate turn with right shoulder you immediately brace your right leg and push your right hip out of the way. You wouldn't throw a rock by initiating your turn with your left shoulder.
