Hi Ian, thank you for the informative video :). I am just a bit confused about lateral breathing, as you mentioned the lower ribs are moving like bucket handles but why do we need to keep them down during inhalation?
Hey Dean, Thanks for watching. Sorry for any confusion. The ribcage will move during inhalation but it is a controlled expansion where the ribs popping up would be a rib flare. When I say "Keep them down" I am not saying crunch or consciously hold them down. I am saying that ideally the 360 degrees of expansion is controlled versus them flaring up and limiting air from going anywhere else. Does that make sense?
Glad I watched this! That's what I did....to much of the breathing to fill the entire rib cage and got muscle spams....it's much better today 😊
