You could totally make a Pokémon game that mainly centre’s around a broken yet functional world in the distortion realm or something (like a gen 4 continuation/spin-off where the protagonist of the main game discovers the distortion world isn’t as empty and only made of random islands as they think and it’s home to unused and unseen things that were never able/ supposed to be ported into actual reality like towns filled of corrupted and weird looking people and Pokémon )
Fun fact, the music during Zelda : ALBW wasn't supposed to get all fucked up, it happened because the corruptions weren't injected on the correct version of the game. And yet they somehow worked even better than intended.
The Zelda corruption in the beginning is just perfect. The normal looking princess turning around, looking like she fell off a mountain, and making the sound of a 40 year old chain smoker, all while the music of Hell plays on the background, and Vinny is cackling like a witch.
