my good book - original on guitalele

I improvised this song to some words I had written down, about a notebook I have. This was sometime in 2023.

i played my Valencia VC350 guitalele.
This dragged on a little at the end as I was thinking how to sing it and end it...LOL
words:
i have a little book
i call it the GOOD book
it's not the Bible
just a little notebook
where i write down all the good things that happen everyday
even when the sky is gray.
there are days where i can't see anything hopeful or worthwhile
so i have to look harder to see in a different light.
when the sky is gray
when the heart is heavy
and my mind filled with too much ruminating
i open my eyes
and i try to see the blessings in disguise
on one really rotten day
while brushing my teeth i saw
my foamy spit in the sink
it resembled a flower
yes it resembled a flower
and i smiled.
"Toothpaste Spit Flower" -
that was my entry for that day
and i knew
as long as i keep my eyes open,
as long as i keep my mind open,
as long as i keep my heart open,
i can see beauty
i can see the light in the dark.
