- Wayne's Monaro in for a health check up after Wayne rebuild the combo with new pistons and a new cam profile.
Originally tuned by Shane from SC Performance prior to us Purchasing his dyno and equipment, Wayne just wanted to ensure the new changes hadn't made the tune unsafe so that he could go have some fun at track days with the new setup.
After shredding a belt and then delaminating a tyre our tuning session was cut short. We did, however, manage to get a full run to ensure the tune will be safe, rolling off a 719whp (previous setup had made 820whp on this dyno before rebuild).
Safe for now, in the mean time we are talking to Wayne about going to Flex Fuel in future to save carrying around 2 ECU's, and we will also look at booking in a Hub Dyno to complete the tune at that time.

I think this is one of those classic ‘dream builds’ that makes sense on paper but would be surprisingly poor as a street car. Traction on street tyres at street speeds would be terrible. Happy to be proven wrong with Dragy or Vbox times on the street tyres pictured.
Has surprisingly tame street manners for what it is. Traction in anything with 700+whp on street tyres would be difficult. The car is mostly used for roll racing and track days with drag radials.
Next time we head to the track ill chuck the dragy in it for some data, personally wouldnt be trying to collect that kind of data on the street on street tyres though 🤣

427 with 11:1 on e85, 2.9 whipple with a roughly 68mm pulley... id expect in the 800+ area
Yeh thats what it was making prior to the cam profile change. We only ran it up to ensure it was safe for the owner to keep driving. We will book a hub dyno and tune it properly soon, but we are expecting the same
