I showed my son this video because he got the Gouging Fire SIR on pre-release. He was already feeling lucky and then saw how low the hit rates were on the SIR's for this set.
My booster box went against literally every odd last night lol.
1 ace spec : Prime Catcher
3 full art : Incineroar, farigiraf, Iron Crown
3 IR : Snom, Minccino, Metagross
5 EX : Walking Wake, Iron Boulder, Gengar, Scizor, Miraidon
Gold cards in 151 were about 1 in every 51 packs. To go from that to 1 in every 170 is a pretty large leap. I'm sure the cost of the gold cards will go up with that as well.
Idk how accurate this is I bought 4 booster bundles and had a hit in 5 out of the 6 packs on each box

Nice presentation of the data. Coincidentally, I hit that Iron Leaves gold card in my 3 extra packs I got at the end of my pre-release event last weekend. I was floored then, but even more so now knowing how hard they are to hit.

Also it would be a good idea to highlight how many buddy buddy puffins you pulled, thats almost one of the most important cards from this set
I appreciate the data driven approach to this. It would be awesome to compare these results to other S&V series to understand which series represents the best value for money, especially when you consider the differences in the size of the sets

Probably batching problem again ... My lgs actually opened some cases with multiple gold cards in the case. And some booster boxes contains both SIR and gold card...resulting in 15 hits box...

Pokémon Center probably made the EX normals so easy because they knew they had like 10 or so normal EX monsters on the set which is higher than previous sets I believe. Yikes

Great video Nick - really enjoyed this style. I think Pokémon cranking out sets + lowering the hit rates is just going to increase collector fatigue overall
They may tweak the pull rates as they release different products, i notice the ones that dont show up in the early release often magically start getting pullee a month later.. but this is a fantastic reference and solid indicator of what to expect now.. i find it funny that the first card that caught my eye in the setlist (gold entei) seems to be the most illusive in the set.. haha

The pull rates are absurd
This is good example of why should play the tcg. The Gengar and masterball are pretty much unplayable. The gengar will hold minimal value because its gengar.

I am so glad I decided to skip this set. There is not one card that I would consider a must have as a collector. With these terrible pull rates I am not going to open a single pack of this set. Thanks Nick for the amazing info!!
How can you not like the SAR pokemon in this set
@vNasus_ there are always going to be good looking cards. But then there are cards that are not worth my money. I'd rather spend a hundred dollars on a vintage gengar than this modern set
