This makes the pull rate of SARs VERY comparable to alternate arts from Sword and Shield. Many people demanded worse pull rates and here it is guys. Have fun
Rough… I haven’t been opening S&V but I bought 3 loose packs from a shop last night and pulled Gengar full art, raging Bolt gold card, and iron boulder regular ex. Might end it with that since it seems I’ve got nowhere to go but down from there haha
Not sure I would use the words "terrible" pull rates or Pokemon went "backwards". Just harder to pull better cards. Could be like obsidian where it's too easy and everyone hates that set because prices are too low
It's frustrating to hear people say they want pull rates to be worse because they want singles value to be higher. It's a kids game/hobby and making the pull rates bad only hurts that primary demographic. I'm not a fan.
I was able to complete Base, Jungle, and Fossil with kid money. Like allowance, mowing lawns, Christmas and Easter. All three of those set combined are still less one modern set.
@@matttran7161you can’t compare then and now. back then all we had was basic halo graphics. now we have secret rares, alt arts, gold cards, special illustration, reg illustration, ex, rainbow, trainer full art, etc. you are an idiot.
So wild Eri was your last out of that many packs. I generally do not get good pulls, but I got it out of my first pack from starting this set out of a booster bundle. Just goes to show how different everyone's experiences are with pokemon
Happy Temporal Forces Release Day. I bought six single sleeved packs and pulled a Cutiefly illustration rare and the Iron Boulder EX full art. Not a bad start!
655 packs last night and only 4 SIR away from completing set. Wonder if it will take 1000 more packs to finish. Cause our pull rates were so different from this data last night. I guess we were just lucky. I do still believe batching makes an issue of pull rates from one place to another🍀 appreciate the data as always man. 🎉 hope you guys are all doing well
Your missing the point. Pokemon isn't designed anymore with the expectation that people have to collect them all. Some cards are so rare that getting one occasionally is suppose to be expected and accepted. If Pokemon never wanted this to be the case they never should have started printing prize cards and staff cards in low numbers.
This set sounds rough. I usually buy some products to open before going to buying singles, but if it's this rough I might skip opening and just go straight to the singles
Poekmon tcg pull rates have always been bad, even from the original base set. Just something to live with....Which is why I stopped buying irl packs over a decade ago and the moment Pokemon TCGO became a thing i played the heck out of that..now it's gone
I just started collecting Pokemon again and they bring the sets out way to quick I've got Scarlett and violet base ,paradox riff , Obsidian flames, 151, Paldea evolved on the go still haven't even got the paldea fates yet then temporal forces comes out and then there bringing out Twilight Masquerade next
I'm glad I didn't buy a booster box and just bought some bundles and single packs for Temporal Forces. It's unfortunate about pull rates. It might turn off some people for future sets if Pokemon doesn't give you a hyper or SIR per booster box now on average
Danny... ur such an honest person and that's y I'm here to stay. Not worried about pushing product, making money, or even making a name for yourself. Just giving it straight. I respect you for that.. thank you danny for being u
Your nieve. He was buying this card up when it was $55. Now he is selling it for $250. His job is to hype it up so he can profit off fomos like you man. Don't be duped .
@weskarp7643 u really think he alone controlls the pokemon market? Who is nieve again? U must not really watch danny, he gives wayyyyyy more than he should.
I’m all for varying pull rates on sets. It satisfies both groups, if you like better pull rates there are sets for you, and if you like harder pulls there are sets for that too! Harder pull fans aren’t just in it for the higher card value, as a collector it feels so good when you pull a rare card on a hard pull set!
This comment is dumb. You're not going to keep pulling the old sets forever its impossible to satisfy both groups. I want good pull rates and to open the new sets
Unbelievable... really just insane. Thousands of dollars + nearing 2k packs. The pull rates are really rough. Love the set though, both tcg meta and collectibles. Thanks, as always, for your contribution to this community Danny ❤
Pretty sad to see this set having tougher pulls tbh, it makes it harder to get desirable singles. Problem they might get more expensive in the future because of its artwork and circulation atm. It's not an easy set but it is pretty amazing for it. Seeing how these cards look I will not be very surprised to see this set going up on price in the future like Evolving Skies or Fusion Strike atm. It might not be the same due to quality control but due to the awesome artworks id say it could go up on price. But once again thanks for the information man. Great Video.
Opened a booster box today, 1 Gold Gouging fire, 1 Ultra rare Iron leaves. I DIDNT GET A SINGLE ACE SPEC.... I guess ill take those 2 great pulls tho, cant complain
I hope the pull rate is down and not just batching issues where like we saw in other sets. Like 151 sometimes there's no hits and sometimes I'm pulling 4 SIRs out of 4 products that I picked up at the same time at the store.
Opened a booster box, got one SIR (raging bolt), three IRs, two Ace Spec, three Full art Pokémon, one full art trainer, and five DR ex’s. Sounds like I got extremely lucky! I have a second box on the way but after that good luck and seeing the full pull rate data, I’ll probably just sell that one and grab a few singles that I’ve got my eye on after the prices cool off.
I find it so interesting that the rumors before release was that temporal forces will be short printed, and upon release we learn that pull rates are unforgiving. Pokemon company knows how to play the game now. Ggs.
Pretty crazy. Definitely think the SIRs should retain value, and rarity helps that - but still it makes it less fun to open on average. I definitely think they could make the sets more exciting again if they made the regular holo rare pattern actually interesting though. Back in the day we had cosmos holo regular rares and really cool reverses, now we have bland holos and bland reverses.
This 100%!!!! Keep the hard SIR chase. But make ex’s nice hand drawn closer to a baby shiny or old school holo. Something that actually is fun to collect and feels like a hit. I hate regular ex cards. So ugly.
I opened one of each etb and two booster bundles and pulled a special illustration rare, two illustration rares, and three ace specs. I had a few base ex hits but I’d have to look in the pile to see how many. I enjoyed opening it but I have about ten packs left in me before I just get singles because I know my luck won’t hold out
I was super surprised, I was at the store and checked the pokemon machine and.... Temporal Forces etbs..! They never have brand new at the machines on the day of release... I... Times are changing.
This is my first set in the while that I decided I was going to open a bunch of boosters for too bad. The pull rates are not great but I'm not really collecting rather building to play somewhat competitively. I just bought a box of build and battle displays for $130. I'll let ya know how my pulls go when i receive and open em up
Great work as always. Have you seen TCG Players data? They had a sample size of 8000. Similar to yours (as usual) but SIRs and Hypers were a bit rarer still. Seeing the data I feel I was quite lucky. No SIR or gold but had 15 hits. 6 Double rare, 2 ACE , but 3 IRs and 4 Ultra Rares.
I feel like they can make sir and hyper rares tough to pull without making it this difficult and everyone be happy. Something closer to paradox rift pull rates is where it should be. I usually open up a decent amount of each set but seeing those pull rates turns me off from buying and ripping. Makes me want to just stick with one piece or something else
i don't mind the alt arts being giga rare as long as the regular ex cards are widely available at affordable prices. It gives the collectors a true chase while allowing the players to have the playable cards available to use.
Every time they cut pull rates I cut what i buy in half. I opened a ton of paldea evolved cuz its fun to open. If they want me to buy less they're doing it. I'll just open 1 of each product then buy singles
For anyone who’s pulled a Special Art Rare. Can you tell me if the centering was good on the card? I want to know ahead of time if my chase card has a high chance of having bad centering.
Just started with a booster box and etb, and straight off went to 72.3% complete. Loads of the top end cards to get! Did get a full art, 2 ace spec, and gold card. 17 pulls all together. Amazing art though!
I bought 3 sleeved booster packs from my LCS while I am waiting for my bigger orders. In the third pack I pulled the Raging Bolt ex SIR! I never have that kind of luck. 😊
I have had more fun with these types of pull rates because it feels so good pulling the card that's not guaranteed as opposed to the feeling of which card I do i get this time, but to each their own.
I don't mind this pull rates honestly, they're a lot closer to SWSH now. And that is another reason why I prefer blisters and collection boxes to get my packs, those are the most funs. Especially that I don't plan on buying booster boxes like I did and will be focusing on singles... yeah
Opened a couple PC etbs of each artwork. Got a few regular ex cards but no full arts, no gold cards, no SIRs and only 2 IR. I like the artworks in this set. I’ll have to buy the singles, can’t justify opening many more packs unless I open a couple occasionally just for fun.
Opened up 1 booster box and 2 ETBs and no SIR or Gold just yet. Some IR and 2 Full Arts pulled, but nothing crazy. Bought them for the tcg, but even for deck building it’s rough.
I would still try and see you might have good luck. I got 1 Pokemon Center ETB at 59.99 plus tax and I pulled Biancas Devotion Alt Art, Iron Leaves Ex Full Art, and Metagross IR. Also comes with the promos that are only in the ETBs
I was thinking of buying a Temporal Forces ETB to see if I could get 1 or 2 ultra rare's I wanted from this set. But after seeing this I'm really happy I just bought a few singles and saved myself the money/trouble.
I'm no Danny but happy to help with my perspective. 1. Focus on quality and not quantity. Quantity will follow once the quality is there. 2. Make content that you enjoy. 3. Don't blow the bank 4. Take breaks when needed Any other thoughts @dannyphantump
Looks like Pokemon is moving towards recreating the V Alt Arts... but in the form of SIRs. I'm not entirely opposed to it, but I think we NEED an extra rarity for the main holo "hit" spot. If I were PCI, I would add in some ACE Supporters that are Full Art w/ the Pink at a rarity above Ultra Rares in the holo slot
Excited for opening this set, but sad that the pull rates are worse.

I am amazed that I pulled a gold raging bolt and an iron crowns sir in the same box along with 2 full art trainers and a full art Pokémon. Seeing this video makes me realize I was right thinking my box was busted
These numbers are crazy! I think the best course is purchase between 2-4 booster boxes and hope for a SIR. but I think the bulk of the hits I'll buy/trade as singles
What was bizarre is I did not get a single 2nd reverse slot pull (IR/SR/HR?) in 16 sleeved boosters, 2 3-pack blisters, and 2 1-pack blisters.. and only 6 IR + 1 SIR (Gouging Fire) in 2 booster boxes.. but my overall hit rate was still 37%... lots of ex's and full arts.
Oh wow thanks for this video! Insane! If they actually do limit the prints of this set, these sealed box will be really expensive in a couple of months/years I believe...
theres no confirmation that they are limiting the prints of this set. they may have printed less initially because they don't expect much demand but that says nothing on how much they can print later. anyone who says this set is short printed is either misinforming you or they must be a billionaire because they know the true print run data of all the pokemon sets
I mean from what we know now you make a good educated guess I mean you can get a box at 93 rn lowest I've seen and it is having a shorter print run that's fact we are already selling the next before this one drops now is it that significant we don't know because they have been increasing print numbers each year so even tho it's a shorter run it could still be larger than prior years due increased volume but there's a chance you can take rn and buy low w a chance this stays lower printed than the others and it has pull rates that are tough could end up making this box more valuable you don't need crazy data to make an educated guess this box could be better
@@kaijutraps im not saying this set isnt a good investment. I like this set a lot along with 151. My argument is that nobody knows what the pokemon company will do about the print runs. "it is having a shorter print run that's fact" - this is not fact the pokemon company can decide to print more later on. "we are already selling the next before this one drops"- this is done for many sets you said it yourself its an educated guess. Which is fine. My argument is against the claims that its a fact that there is a shorter print run. This is not a fact.
Let's goo Danny! The pull rates are super intersting. Seems the trend is to make cards harder to pull to try and boost up the singles price to make the booster boxes more valuable. Thereby selling more products. While at the same time gradually reducing print runs. Pokemon be smart. I would say 2 years from now, were are going to be looking at nice growth.
Just finished watching. Outstanding content. Something to wonder about, the competitive aspect of this set notwithstanding: if the Special Illustration rares don't have a lot of value as singles, given they are so hard to pull, will this set just die on the vine? Will be interesting to track pricing and trends for this one.
Well... the pull rate of sir and hr are nerfed, but ace specs are hits too... overall the pullrate all together is better then in paradoxrift etc. but worse for specific sir and hr cards
That leaves me really curious as to the marketing reasons behind those pull rates. You and others have said the company doesn’t really care about comp, mostly just collectors and inclusivity. This seems a step in the other direction.
I think they care about all areas of the hobby except the secondary market. The fact that they have reprinted ultra competitive cards multiple times in different forms to make them readily available at cheaper prices definitely points to them caring about competitive pokemon.
@@DannyPhantump I think that’s what I was meaning, the secondary market. It seems that a lot of the competitive scene is probably built on the secondary market, buying singles rather than dropping $$$ on packs. I just figure the harder to pull, the more likely the secondary market is to be impacted.
I want pull rates to be better but in the mini boosters I've opened I feel like I got decent pulls from the pack still no Gengar tho:( did get a perfect gold verizion
There needs to be tougher pull rates on some cards to have enough rarity to make some cards in a set really valuable. The problem isnt that that some cards are so hard to pull that it makes collecting them all real expensive. The problem is some people are still of the mind set that they need to collect them all. Im ok with some cards being so rare that im not going to pull them all so long as every set has some of those cards so that now and then you do hit one. So long as its not the cards needed to play and compete in the game i dont see why there would be a problem with making a few cards extremely hard to pull to make appealing to collectors. This is the reason why S&V gen sets have been rather lackluster so far in overall fan appeal. Because they have appealed to game players by making all their cards easy to get but they have forgotten the collector who wants only cards that are hard to get. It looks as though this is an attempt by Pokemon to correct that issue.
This is the first set in a while that I'm only opening 1 booster box and then by singles after that. I loved the SWSH chase because there was something worth chasing. I don't get that with this set at all.
I got totally done on my booster box, no SIR or hyper rare and only 3 illustration rares. As someone that only collects SIR and IR was a total wash :( I miss 151

I’m having fun. Hit SIR in one booster box.
Well not exactly, alternate arts are like 1 every 200 packs in swsh, one sir every other booster box is way better.

theres no confirmation that they are limiting the prints of this set. they may have printed less initially because they don't expect much demand but that says nothing on how much they can print later. anyone who says this set is short printed is either misinforming you or they must be a billionaire because they know the true print run data of all the pokemon sets
"we are already selling the next before this one drops"- this is done for many sets
you said it yourself its an educated guess. Which is fine. My argument is against the claims that its a fact that there is a shorter print run. This is not a fact.
Yes yes I totally agree with you, that's why I carefully started by "If they..." ;)@@ajithrajaful
So to consider it a hit, it needs to be double rare or better? If not, what is considered a hit?
A master set giveaway is the best give away in the hobby. So awesome
So its like Chilling Reign bad in terms of pulls?
1851 packs is crazy😮 what product had the "best" pull rates in your opinion?
Before I start on my journey😅
Just finished watching. Outstanding content. Something to wonder about, the competitive aspect of this set notwithstanding: if the Special Illustration rares don't have a lot of value as singles, given they are so hard to pull, will this set just die on the vine? Will be interesting to track pricing and trends for this one.
Time for Paldea Evolved purchasing then.
This kinda sounds like batching... I wonder if booster bundles or a different product hits better
I've gone about 200 packs now and hit one SIR. Very brutal
Well... the pull rate of sir and hr are nerfed, but ace specs are hits too... overall the pullrate all together is better then in paradoxrift etc. but worse for specific sir and hr cards
I just figure the harder to pull, the more likely the secondary market is to be impacted.
awesome video! love all the iron crowns in temporal forces
Imo they will raise rates , raise prices and cut production over time
RIP Danny ankle. Thank you for delving into this!
I'd like to know how many booster boxes to get 90% of the cards.
I love the art work on TF but the pull rates are so rough. 151 is still my Fav by far it justs hits different!
I got me an Wugtrio Ex from a local breaker for a couple of bucks... Just started collecting Pokémon cards from Paldean
I got 3 acespecs from my booster bundle.
I want pull rates to be better but in the mini boosters I've opened I feel like I got decent pulls from the pack still no Gengar tho:( did get a perfect gold verizion
Back to S & S pull rates, hope yall happy
2k packs. Damn. Is this the most for S&V?
love all the ghost-type related pokemon and trainer in this set!
Great set I hope pull rates go back to the paradox rift set, not to easy but not evolving skies hard.
I much prefer higher pull rates. I LOVED opening Paldean Fates. Just so fun!
The set has beautiful art but Almost 2000 packs just to finish the full master set. That is insane I guess I'm picking up singles wow
Hopefully this time around the price of cards doesn't crash like OF did. Would be horrible to spend $1,000 to get a hyper rare that sells for $20.
love the deep dive into the pull rates
What’s your favorite card from this set Danny ?
I got totally done on my booster box, no SIR or hyper rare and only 3 illustration rares. As someone that only collects SIR and IR was a total wash :( I miss 151
