Question of the day: What's your favourite whisky that has both PX and Peat influence?

Quite partial to the Laphroig PX Travel Retail exclusive bottle

I had that in my hands back in the day but put it down again. Will need to get it at some point

I saw a Ballachin/Edradour 8 yo single blend from edradour on Ralphy. I could not yet get it but since I have the Edradour 10yo and Ballachin 10yo here I tryed to blend 2 to 1 in favour of the Edradour since the blend is on that direction, and is was very very nice. Cheers!

Gotta be Laphroaig PX cask or any Kilchoman PX single cask.

Loving those notes Vin, they seem right up my street. I've only had the original so far, and it really hit the spot for me in all the right ways. Cheers mate.

I don't reckon you'd be disappointed with this one at all mate

Great review and think I prefer the peated 1770 instead of the Fresh and fruity one. Really love Peat and Sherry together and like the Laphroaig 10 Sherry Cask. I really have enjoyed Peat and Port together like the Royal Welsh Whisky from Penderyn.

Give the Talisker Port Ruighe a try😁. I reviwed that one a while a go, brilliant whisky🍻

Such a great whisky. Might actually have to replace it when it's gone

Kilchoman just released a PX special release. This is the first year it has been a special release, all the previous were single casks.

Definitely sounds like something I need to check out

How does it compare to the PX single casks?

Have you tried the new Kilchoman PX release? I just ordered a bottle and I'm quite curious about that one. Seems well received.

Also a big fan of peat and PX...overdid it a bit at one stage but it is something I come back to often. Also loved this from Glasgow distillery, my favourite from the tasting pack I bought from them. Have you tried the North Star Chaos? Caol Ila 10yo 50% and fairly heavily sherried

I haven't tried that one yet, sounds right up my street though

    I have a love-hate relationship with PX.
I can't stand the Glen Scotia double cask. I also didn't like the PX matured single cask of wolfburn.
Yet, I absolutely love the Boutique-y bottling of Three Ships. I quite enjoyed a single cask of peated Benriach too.

I'm the same to be fair. PX always seems overbearing. But with peat, apparently the spheres align for me

Very disappointed with the peated version as there is no peat on the nose like its unpeated. On the palate still can't find the peat, just spiciness... as a peathead prefer Lagg, Kilkerran or Ardnamurchan where definitely you can smell peat smoke...
