Gunvolt Chronicles: Luminous Avenger iX 2: (Secret) Bad Ending

- The newest Gunvolt game just came out and there was talks if a certain Bad Ending was faked or not because while it was reported, no one else knew how to Trigger it. Well, after testing, I found out how too: You need to damage Kohaku after the final boss is dead with Optical Barrier until her 'hurtbox' disappears, and then grab her. The video is then what happens in the bad end and you even get a costume for her afterwards. The canon of this ending is for debate since Hard Mode has its own ending, if it can stop kicking people's butts for it first....

Good ending: Kohaku
Bad ending: Yandere alt world Lola.
Both's a win either way.

Love the fact this game had some creepypasta like moments, null dead corpse on the menu screen after her death already freaked me out, but this, is pretty terrifying. (Oh and hard mode weirdly feels eerie but that may just be me)

God that delivery... it's... weird... on one hand Kohaku is gone but on the other hand I'm... kind of happy for this Lola. After spending so many centuries alone for a fruitless mission she can finally be with Copen. It's unlikely "Kohaku" would ever let slip what happened to her. She'd live out her life as "Kohaku", happy to just finally be free from her mission and by Copen's side.
A bad ending, yeah... but damn is it a good one. Bittersweet is how I'd describe it.
Why not neutral?
It's not really a good thing considering losing her Master made this Lola become unstable, irrational and destructive.
Not to mention Copen and especially Lola are beginning to notice something odd about Kohaku, so things are a bit ominous for now.
@@yassinefarah2423 Yes, Lola became unstable, but this Lola in Kohaku shows no signs of that at all. If anything she shows a fervant (if not obsessive...) desire to want to help Copen in all things she does.
There could be many reasons for this. Sure it's easy to say "She's faking it", but that's not a really interesting answer. lol. And even then why would she? She doesn't have the resources to destroy a world here, nothing like the Grave Pillar anyway, let alone a world that has nothing to do with her... and has a version of her "Master" in it.
If we remember what happened with Demerzel from the first game, Copen implied that his electronic brain and long life is what made him unstable. Here Lola has a flesh and blood body now, so it's entirely possible she forwent her "evil" ways entirely.
Either way it's just speculation. It's a cool ending nontheless with some interesting implications. Also the canonicity of this ending is entirely up for debate. (Though given what they did with Gunvolt 1's bad ending... never take things for granted).
Probably still not a good thing since there's normal Lola whom Mother!Lola would see as a competition, an imagined love triangle, if you will. And when there's just ONE insane party in a love triangle, the result is rarely pretty.
@@hydrosphagus9672 considering she isn't hostile towards Lola, it's less about competition and more how Mother's presence in another world could jeopardize the peace Copen fought so hard for.
There's also the possibility that Kohaku has remnants of the Pix technology within her, the thing that allowed Mother to possess her.
But as of now Copen somehow fullfills the Creator's wish of saving her in the bad ending, Mother is free from the pain of her mission, reunited with a different version of her Master and lives on as someone else in a world where humanity isn't extinct.

Bad ending kind of terrifying because she says we'll be together forever~

The way Mother speaks of Copen. I sorta have a theory that Copen is this master of hers in the future. It would have seemed that once she was defeated either the good or bad ending, she seemed to have recognized Copen the last minute. Could it be possible that Copen is Mother's creator? Could Mother be Lola evolved?
Remember that Lola sometimes called Copen "Boss"?. "Boss, Master". One more thing, the holographic mode resembles an older-gigantic version of Lola in her "Idol Mode". In other words, she's like Lola, but mature
I noticed with Kohaku that the Pix technology can be integrated into humans as well despite them being extinct in that world.
In this case Mother despite being an AI managed to possess and transfer her conciousness into a human and now secretly lives on as Kohaku.
This will definitely inspire some yandere Kohaku X Copen fanfiction. I just know it.

Kind of ironic with this ending. Copen as EVERYWHERE MAN mentioned in the comments had to mercy kill Mytl's brain in iX1 and the bad ending here in this game, is a character who COULD be looked at as a surrogate sister for him getting her brain completely wiped by AU Lola.
The english dub hasn't been all there for this game but I gotta give it to the VA who did Kohaku. The death of Kohaku's mind and replacement just feels so eerie with the menu music and line delivery. I heard it in Japanese and it just doesn't stick as much as the English dub does.

@@scrubbadubbins4895the costume you get in the bad ending might be a reference to the one that Axl gets in MegaMan X8 if he's the character that dealt the final hit to Lumine
Why on Earth would anyone think of or try to do that?
I suspect someone discovered it by accident by attacking Kohaku too many times during the actual final boss fight. I said by accident, because without Whirling Chopper and Optic laser, it's just so difficult to hit Kohaku when all those homing energy balls keep firing at you.
And thus after the bad ending became known, people then started to try triggering it manually, and this is the result.

Basically in this ending, Mother pulled off a Shodan and transfered her conciousness to Kohaku.
More so merged then transfered
This pretty much made Kohaku all messed up in the head
Hard mode is the true ending
How do you unlock this?
Hit Kohaku with an attack during the section where you are supposed to just dash to her and end the game. May or May or may not be normal mode exclusive.
@@thomasalvarenga2839 Just tested it myself. Its normal mode exclusive. You can still damage Kohaku in hard mode, but it doesnt change anything.
You pretty much MUST have Copen be a total dick to Kohaku before you save her

@@maximumforce8275 Similar to completing a Genocide Route resulting in altered True Pacifist endings, the menu quotes showcased at the end are a permanent effect on your game file. Kohaku will only say that phrase from here onward. The only way to be rid of it is to use a different file.
