11:15 those were the "iron fleet" jump pack troopers. If you look closely, you can see that they are fully metal, while normal jump pack troupers are like commissars. It's pretty rare
While wide FOV has some advantages, its mostly popular because of more competitive shooters, especially ones that are in much more close range. But a narrow FOV does have some advantages in games like this that have much longer ranges. it also helps performance.
As a PC gamer i just have a tenancy of cranking up the FOV for better visibility and because games of the past used to default to 60 degree FOV on a first person game, which was nauseating when sitting so close to the screen. on a third person shooter like Helldivers 2 its not really needed as much as you're already in third person.
This reminds me of Shadow of the Colossus. It had a 40 FoV, which basically compresses distance and gives you that Lord of the Rings feeling while looking in the distance. Additionally high FoV adds a lot of distortion. Objects on the border of the screen are larger than in the center. What happens is that the inner side of a sphere gets warped on a flat surface. No matter what you do, it will get distorted either the way how games to it or with some kind of barrel distortion.
The game looks absolutely beautiful in that FOV. I know it'll sound weird to say but it's almost like you're watching someone else play while you're playing just from how narrow and up close things are. Definitely loved how the bots looked too!
I play on 55, not sure if that's the default or not. I did check it out on higher (I normally play 90+ on other games) but honestly I like it much better this way. I only noticed how insanely high yours was in your last vid.
Low FOV bugs should be interesting. With how liklely they are to get up on your face it should make their details (claws, mouth) more apparent. Brood commanders would be terrifying.
I played on 55 tov till I was level 100 ish so I had the experience when I cracked it all the way up to 90 suddenly I was moving sooo fast and seeing beyond where I was able to before
You can take out Gunships, their thrusters have 3 armor. Tanks and turrets also have 3 armor on their back/heat sink, but they take a lot of ammo to destroy.
I was shouted at for 20 seconds when I joined a game the other day. A guy apparently recognized me from a game the day before, and gave me hell for wanting to extract with 5 minutes remaining of a 40 minute mission (I think there were 10-12 minutes left when I joined). Seems he wanted to do Radar and Artillery before leaving. I resorted to calling him a ..... and quit the game 😕😫
Low FOV surely makes you feel like you are really slow

It’s crazy how much better looking and immersive compared to 90 FOV

Yet another loudout idea: true anti armor, eat, eagle rocket pods, rail cannon strike, shield pack.
Or eagle rocket pods, recoilless rifle, rail cannon and orbital laser.

I always played on 60 to 90 for q3a. Played at release for a legit decade, love some quake
What is your graphic settings? It looks so clear, sharp and everything is so visible.

you know players are starving for new game content when they start looking for some excitement in the graphics settings lmao
Or maybe they stumbled across this and just wanted to share?
I wonder what happened to S4 there?
this game was wild
So for the regular machine the only mobs on the bots you cant take out are tanks, factory striders, and gunships?

Yea you fucked up. It's ok lesson learned, people want to full clear if there's time. Extracting is not that important
Lowest fov, and minimal to no hud with slightly lower brightness than usual on a night mission must look cinematic af
I still think I look gross but, hey it works so jokes on me
