Powermoves only exist to impress kids but when it comes to the core of bboying, then there's not a lot place for powermoves

creo que en estas batallas el bboy debe de adaptarse a los jueces segun el criterio que tienen ya que de los jueces quizas no han llegado al nivel de power de kill y se centran mas en otros aspectos
Totalmente de acuerdo, lo malo es que no puedes cambiar tu estilo así que lo mejor es ir a esos campeonatos donde sabes que van a valorar tu estilo. Es triste pero es así.

Most of the people can't see what the judges see .menno is one of my all time favourite. Just keep watching him and u will become a fan of him but if u keep watching powerheds u will get boared of it. Though it's a personal choice. And originality stands alone
Nowadays, powermoves are too underrated. I agree that Menno did better but not 5:0
I know that red bull does not only assess the power moves but that does not mean that it only assess footworks.
5:0 doesn't mean anything. The judges don't confer with each other before they vote. They all could've thought it was a really close battle but went with Menno in the end
For all those who complain about kill not winning this match.
I watched it two times and the first time would habe voted for kill, but this time i am clearly for Menno.
I love powermoves, but this is a Red Bull BC One battle and not a powerhead fight (not meant negatively).
Kill did like 3-5 rounds of footwork in this complete match! His top rocks were pretty much the same. He also didnt do that many freezes except this airchair a few times. Well yeah, his powermoves were clean with many variations, so nothing against that.
Menno did many different variations of footwork and styles, as well as a few but clean powermoves. His top rocks were all different and he included freezes.
You can‘t win with just doing powermoves and a few footworks. This is actually why cico isnt that good in such battles, but he has great clean and fast powermoves.
I honestly like powermoves much more than anything else in breakdance, but its not enough in a battle.

You’re right, that just don’t work against Menno.
Menno is one of the few styleheads that achieved perfection in creating their own recognizable style with perfect flow. He totally deserves to be the 3-time champion, and even though his style might not look aesthetic to the general audience, the pros would always appreciate it.
Actually, it kinda sucks that he showed up at RedBull in 2019. He's been in the game since forever and now he goes and claims another belt. Not discrediting the new generation, but if Menno resigned the way Taisuke and Hong 10 did, he would've opened a lot of space.

@@kana8east don't underestimate transitions. It's better to have 100 transitions and only 10 moves than to have 100 moves and only 10 transitions.
Mark Alvarez of course it’s better to have both but it’s just to show that transitions are a lot more versatile and useful.

I think that if kill would have done much more, like his critical airchair, more insane combos and longer rounds he could have won, but the next battle he would will lose, but the results would have been different, maybe shigekix vs wing and wing would be won. But in my opinion Kill is so much better, he's one of the best in the world for sure, doesnt metter the opinion of the judges
I'd like to see a battle between bboy kill and bboy blond, one of the original best powermovers from Korea and probably in the world too. Actually I think they probably battled before.
yeeah, they battled in Battle Cry 2012. It was awesome, I'd like to see something like that again. But I think Blond is out of the competitons now. And kill is stronger than all now. Korean bboys are the best in the world and in powermove history
the thing about blond is that he's like the original Issei... when he was in his prime the kinds of moves he did were insane. I'd put him on the same level as physicx, and junior, close to Hong 10 and Lilou. Back then Kill wasn't as good, but Kill has improved so much, his stamina is insane. I really wish blond got the same recognition though, if he was shining in this era he'd be bigger.
Dude, remember, the opinion of the judges was only for this battle. I'm sure all 5 judges see Kill as one of the best in the world and can win Red Bull at the top of his game. But he looked like an amateur in his second and third round. The rounds were sloppy, short and had weak responses to Menno. So you can't say "...doesn't matter the opinion of the judges" in an overarching manner like that.
Also, this is probably the reason why there are so many "Kill robbed" comments. I swear half the people here actually didn't see the video and are just basing on what Kill has done previously. I can't see how people think Kill won if they actually saw the battle. It's obvious he needed to do more/better to win. I'm glad you saw he needed to do more, cus it seems like a lot of people in the comments here are stupid enough to think kill actually won this battle, or that its subjective, or some other BS.
Out of all the rounds menno put out, he fucking destroyed these rounds. Kill even acknowledged that, you can see at the end of the round and decision kill recognizes this difference. There may only be 6 other bboys out there who can do one handed airflares, but I can guarantee there is no other bboy Out there that can do what menno does and with the flow he does it. That is the difference. Menno's content, musicality, originality, and his ability to actually express emotion through his dance far outweighs the difference in power, which should be noted that, kill has the air chair air flare as his original move, but other than that, one handed air flare into continuous airflares was first done by bboy H and punisher, and his footwork and floorwork has much to be seen
pocket did not pioneer one handed air flares. Punisher did them almost 10 years ago
Mennos fucking raw as hell, I always love his energy. Kill is a fucking beast too. Kill had so much more he could of brought. Maybe saving it for the other rounds. But I felt like this years bc1 event didnt have as much energy as others

omegabms I actually thought the music and energy levels were pretty high. Albeit dancers were rushed in this one way more , I think most of them had conditioned enough to dish out high quality 30-40 second rounds. Kills arsenal imo is more suited for less than 3 round battles, as he is a powerhead in general terms. He has strong moves in his arsenal but not a lot of variation outside of that, as shown by his decent footwork power move combo. If he establishes more of those types of sets, and places more emphasis on footwork and top rock, older style judges will probably appreciate his set more on a whole. However, bboy kill is one of the best at what he does for a reason, if he took time to work on other elements, he might get rusty when it comes to power v power battles

A lot people hates menno, for me is one of the best.
Is pretty sad, most of them hate him because of the robberies that benefitted him at 2014. I actually think that he won 2017 fair and square (basically because his style doesn't require much energy, so he can keep it clean always)
Kill definitely beats Menno in terms of power but red bull bc one isn't a powermove contest. It looks at other elements too. I dont know how scores are measured for red bull bc one but simply put, Kill probably received the highest score on his powermove, average score on toprock but low score on footwork. Where Menno's set could look poor compare to Kill's sets but he did perform all elements equally that's why he got the points. So if Kill just works on other elements he could definitely win next time!
