      +bboy eboy Wildcards are chosen by bboy experts who think these wildcards deserve a spot in the Red Bull BC One and that it was just bad luck that they lost in their regional finals. Menno was a wildcard too along with Cheerito and Wing. Taisuke beat Wing because Taisuke responded to Wing's first round well, lost the second round cause Wing brought out hella sharp moves, but he beat wing in the third round since Taisuke brought more moves yet again that were original that night. Now Taisuke vs cheerito no one is complaining cause the last vote was close as fuck.

  • @digi2848
    @digi2848 3 ปีที่แล้ว +73

    Honestly I think Taisukes third round was a lot more powerful than people think. Taisuke was mad tired and you could see that in the battle but even through all of that he still did a full round of nothing but power. Taisuke basically said "I may be tired but I can still can keep up with you." Taisuke would have probably still lost but I would have given him that round out of respect cause it was still an amazing round.

  • @TanasMK
    @TanasMK 9 ปีที่แล้ว +161

    Man this competition was unfair. The judging and also this match up. Taisuke already had done 9 sets of moves (3 overtime battles) prior to this battle whereas menno did only 6 sets thus far. So at this point taisuke had already thrown a full match worth of extra moves in the competition due to the new judging system. Wouldn't surprise me that taisuke lost this battle since menno wouldve had alot of moves left, but the match up was unfair to begin with anyway. The Competition should've held its usual format of voting so that all bboys up until the finals have thrown a fair amount of moves each by the finals. Tiebreakers should only be decided after the 3 rounds not 2. Other bboys deserved to go 3 rounds against menno as well....especially Blond

      That's the nature of battling though....you don't want to battle OT? Then close it out 2 out of 3. The competition isn't unfair.

    • @TanasMK
      @TanasMK 9 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Well the matchup was still unfair either way and the judges were somewhat biased towards powermoves as seen in menno vs blond. Just sucked for Taisuke because Menno had alot more moves saved from his 2-set battles. Would've have much preferred the normal red bull bc format so the final matches could be more fairer on the competitors. Not trying to take anything away from Mennos victory though, he did great.

Non the less Menno should get massive respect for winning the tournament regardless. My bet was on Blonde to win this year, i was so shocked he went out in his first round!

    Everyone who watched the event heard Disputed mentioned several times throughout the night. I think they are trying to suck more money from this culture, which is why they adopted the new judging system. BUT THE NEW JUDGING SYSTEM IS SHIT!! and idiots should stop blaming Menno! He did his thing like everyone else! The judging system and the judges were high during the event.

    • @cdv1qa
      @cdv1qa 9 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      The judging system was invented by bboy Niek and has been used at several high profile events this year already. I'm not saying I like it, I'm just saying it's not created by Red Bull. They just adopted it because it is something that has been created from within the breaking scene itself

    • @glaze86
      @glaze86 9 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      cdv1qa
      Don't know why he did it, probably Niek wanted to be more famous so he made up this kind of system. The biggest flaw is that after every round, bboys stop and are looking at the screen, waiting to see the result, and that destroys the vibe of the battle and crowd. My opinion, in this case - change is a bad thing.

    • @junky2fk
      @junky2fk 9 ปีที่แล้ว +15

      you should really look into bboy Yan's opinion regarding the event if you think bcone's goal is to "suck more money from this culture". As an event organizer myself, I find your comment immensely ignorant and retarded.
      BCone by far has treated the bboys and judges with the best professionalism than any promoters, according to Yan at least; this includes top notch hotels, services, and honest pay.
      As for the judging system, bcone has always been unafraid to try new things; they are one of the pioneering production teams that tries to make sure bboys and breaking itself gets the respect it deserves in mainstream media. They are about expanding the culture.
      Stop riding on the conservative "old schoolers" who bad mouths any event that tries to promote bboying. Bboys are finally getting its professional respect that it should've had a long time ago, and BCone is paving the way.

    • @junky2fk
      @junky2fk 9 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      glaze86 But I argue that it works in big events like these, where the audience might not all be bboys. The round by round judging gives the audience a breather and understand wins and losses.
      However, I agree that in local jams, this system is flawed because (like you said) it kills the vibe.

    • @glaze86
      @glaze86 9 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      S T
      Agreed about the audience because some people come to see the event just because it's popular, and this system is a guideline that keeps them informed. But from bboys perspective, this system is flawed.

  • @fridolliog5446
    @fridolliog5446 9 ปีที่แล้ว +77

    THIS YEARS BCONE WAS A F****** JOKE!!!
    Worst Judges ever, the crowd booed and threw stuff at the judges. The bboys were not battling, and this overall athmosphere was very stressed. Not much of an battle anymore, more like a showcase with judges that don´t know who to vote down first
    Rest in Pieces-- BCONE is losing/lost most influence and it´s reputation as one of the few well working fully sponsored battles

    • @ninjaguy123
      @ninjaguy123 9 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Yup ... it was a joke this year. But I wouldn't say RIP since they organize a lot of events and are sponsored by that power house RedBull.
      They're here to stay, unfortunately.

    • @Chris-yp6zm
      @Chris-yp6zm 9 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      I agree, this year's redbull was lame as hell, but i wouldn't say redbull is dead. It's only this year that was bad. If you look back at the year right before this one, it was probably one of the most hyped.

    • @Wyse_thoughts
      @Wyse_thoughts 9 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      The judging system was terrible. If shit aint broken, dont fix it. there were a lot of questionable decisions and I am wondering if they were watching the same battles as everyone else

    • @fridolliog5446
      @fridolliog5446 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Frame 2 2013 wasn´t much better, and 2012 was almost as boring as this one, except for the better judges:P
      And RIP because BCONE will never find back to it´s origins. If you watched the 2004 battles, back in the days where it wasn´t hyped that hard, you will notice that BCONE always tried to find a good mix of the REDBULL sponsorship, the changes in the bboy culture and audience, while trying to keep it as original and "untouched hiphop comptetition" as possible.
      They failed.Since 2009 there were mostly lame battles, msot of the Cyphers where worth watching but many young and talented dancers never got to the Top16 because BCONE doesn´t know who they want to become champion. REDBULL has a major influence on the judges, and it´s not a fair comptetition anymore
      RIP

    • @Chris-yp6zm
      @Chris-yp6zm 9 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Really? Everyone i know loved redbull bc one last year, you can tell from the audience and even from the competitors who lost were all happy, compared to this year where everyone was booing the new RBBCONE champ (Menno)

    Menno literally never lost a single round in entire tournament. But every one of Taisukes battles was an extremely close match-up. This is the problem with this judging system. Before he battle even began, Taisuke looked extremely fatigued where as menno hadn't broken a sweat. It was essentially unbalanced.

    For real dude, no one stood the chance against Menno in this RBBC1. It was pretty clear that the judges preferred menu's styles to any other bboys in the competition. Look at Blond dude, his first set was fucking clean and yet he still lost 5-0. It looked way closer than that. Even if Taisuke was the cleanest in this competition, he would still have lost. The judges just preferred Menno's style to Taisuke's. Taisuke was great during the night, it's just that he was unlucky. Fucking RBBC1, find more diverse judges. If the judges were bboys who have explosive style like Taisuke's (Neguin or Pelezhino), he would have taken the fucking belt.

    Respect to Menno, although menno did not deserve to be in the final. But he definitely deserved to win this battle vs taisuke. I was at the event in paris and i've watched it again and while i dont mind the new judging system as there is advantages too, but the judges made some very bad decisions. Blonde was robbed badly in the first round vs menno and he in my opinion lost to alcolil too, but somehow made it to the final.
    However, People are only upset because their favourites went out. Mounir, hong 10, lil g and lilou all lost because they didnt battle hard enough imo. Just because theyre champions doesnt mean they should have a easy ride . i.e lilou... Lilou is my favourite bboy but i know he got smoked by alcolil big time.

      Only Menno did not deserve? Sure? Taisuke didn't even deserve to be in the final of the Asia Pacific qualifier, but he was, he loses and still got to be in the world final. All of his battles were controversial in this championship, he won lots of robbed rounds against his opponents, and no fucking way he deserve to beat Wing and Cheerito.
      None of these two bboys deserve to be there, although they are good bboys, they were inferior in past battles. Anyways, BC One being BC One, all about politics.

    Menno's unique style, consistency, and composure won this tournament. He was just flowing to all the tracks, with occasional crashes, but he's so fluid it's hard to tell when he messes up. I believe he deservedly won. His closest battle was against Alcolil and could have easily lost the second round of that particular one. The judging system was very different and apparently unfavorable in this final, but it seemed to be put into place to help the bboys save their energy and moves.

His stamina isn't that bad and I have never seen Taisuke performing so good like on this event and he really gave his best. He has very good Toprocks and Footworks and he showed everything on this event. Yeah, he lost, but he came a long way and he has never been pushed so far. His rounds aren't short plus he can pack enough stuff in 15 seconds while other bboys need 30 and he is very quick.

    Menno has an amazing flow, and true bboy stance. He won because he had the best energy of all bboys there. Can see that in his moves. Judges felt it, I don't know how the rest of you didn't. O Menno venceu , mas o Cheerito devia ter ganhado aquela semi final , e o Luan , além de ter repetido dois giros de cabeça , devia ter ido para as quartas de final com o Wing

    The judging should be like where the judges judge the bboys overall out of their 2-3 sets, instead of just judging round for round.
