    Truly helpful! You’ve broken it down so clearly into distinct steps, and the exercises really work! Thank you!!

    YES ! i agree at minute 3.28 ...the same feeling as starting from walk to canter but while cantering ....soooo easy......same as Nuno Oliveira said... but people have to have to know which is the outside rein before .....*smile*....with that there is no need to change leg position soooo obvious or body position ....*smile*

    Does he ever try to get crooked to try and evade the new lead aid in the up transition? Do you have any suggestions for this?

    • @AmeliaNewcombDressage
      @AmeliaNewcombDressage  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes! I try to keep them in shoulder-fore in the transition and if they push against my leg, the move them away from that leg.

    my horse allways trows his head. of course when on trail he can by magic do it without it. do you know some good exercises for that? i would like to add that when he is on lunge line with forced head down he allways goes to war when going to canter

    Amelia, I have a canter question. when you are cantering left (or right per se) where do you place the nose? in alignment with the left shoulder or square in front of the chest?

    • @AmeliaNewcombDressage
      @AmeliaNewcombDressage  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      For the canter, you should have a slight flexion to the inside, but not so much that the horse bends its neck to in front of the shoulder. Ultimately you want to be able to ride tempi changes and the horse should not "wag" its head from side to side...

    also how do you do haunches in and make it clear to the horse that I'm not asking for canter?

    • @AmeliaNewcombDressage
      @AmeliaNewcombDressage  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's a hard question! It's kind of a feel but your hips and seat need to stay in "trot" rhythm while you put the aides on for haunches-in. Also think of putting the aides on for haunches-in a little more gradually and in trot rhythm rather than an abrupt aide that would surprise the horse for canter.

    Hi im son from Australia
    I have a hot arab who is 10 and is super goey and hot on trails. Any tips?
    He does not want to stop in a canter which makes it so hard on trails.

      Ride him in an arena and whenever he gets too fast in the canter, circle him. Learn to stop him in the arena so you don't get a run away on the trail.
