True automobile painters are very hard to find. A really good one makes all the difference in the finished product. Excellent job.
Almost 10 coats of paint with very minimal trash in a open prep bay , no weting the floor , very impressive.
I am a mechanic buy trade long story short ended up working in a panel shop long story short watching panel beaters in spray painters do what they do and seeing the end result blew me away amazing to see
Back in the day I squirted an Alpha Romeo with DuPont Centari 2000 Acrylic Enamel for a routine customer. About 3 months after his Allover Job he banged the passenger fender in a parking lot. After the bodywork was done I called up to order a small portion of paint only to hear it wouldn't mix down to pints unless I switched over to Lucite. So I said fine give me the Lacquer. After the job was done I realized the texture of the sanded and rubbed-out Lacquer was identical to the Centari I'd sprayed ... right outta my SHARPE 775.* hahaha LOL*
Wow, that’s incredible. Nice work guys.
Thanks a ton!
Wow. Superb piece!!!
Many thanks!
Absolutely beatyfull paint job,,,..and body work nice realy nice.
Thank you very much!
That paint job looks sick. Great job guys.
When the painter breaks out a Supernova ya know its going to be a jaw dropper!!🎉🎉 Team Mackey's does it again!
Doesn’t get any better than that!
Stunning. I've painted a lot of cars, guitars, bikes etc but not like that!
I’ve been waiting patiently for this video 🎉
Hope you enjoyed it!
@@MackeysHotRodShop I’m learning a lot from you, I might not ever do your job but I will relate back to your level of detail. It takes one to know one.
Been waiting for this one.
That paint job looks sick. Great job guys. and not just a painter the body man did a hell of a job on it too. Y’all make a great team. and looks like it’s gonna be a lot of work to bring that shine up😂😂😂😂
I just subscribed to help you reach your goal, best paint job I seen without a buff
I appreciate that. Thank you.
OH yeah, Glasurit baby!
I want my 65. El Camino to look that beautiful. Super nice

big hello from down under
he forgot tack cloth after final wash. Gotta love a black 59. though. looks good. we did a black 66 chevelle for my dad and it's super slick as well.
N I C E , but everyone forgets the "body guy" What's underneath is the real secret..Hats off to the body guy!!
💯 THANK YOU
Freaking amazing. That’s a beautiful job.
Daaaaaaamn!!! That’s nice!!
😎
Nice work 👏
Thank you! Cheers!
Very nice work
Thank you!
Stand back black! Nuttin better🍻Cheers!
CHEERS!!!🍻
Beautiful work! Of course the only sad thing about doing cars to this level is that they will always be trailer queens. I definitely appreciate the effort as a builder myself, but my own personal cars are drivers because if you can't drive it anywhere, I don't want it.
Ye,we have the same here in Australia. Don't get driven. Nick Melbourne Australia
As amazing and glass smooth as that is. Do you guys still plan on cut and buff? 59 best year for the classic gm stuff.
Yes cut and buff is next
Very nice job. I'd liked to have heard about the technique though. Air pressure, paint mix ratio, coverage overlap, time between coats, etc.
We hear ya and will do a break down paint video. Stay tuned. Thanks for the feedback.
The owner of this car is going to be stoked!
It looks so damn good!! Wow.
😎🤙
Are you guys going to put up the next episode which I would assume is painting the rest of the panels with finish coat?
nice job guys
Solid work 👊🏼
Thank you
I've painted in body shops for 40+years ill be retired in 3 more years I was a full fledged painter not helper at age 16 at a Chevy dealership in New Orleans Louisiana that was in 1977 I've never heard of any other 1st class painter at a body shop sense then there's alot of helpers in body shops that age but I never see really young bodymen are painters when I started out the average bodyman or painter was 30 to 35 years old. I couldn't imagine doing anything else for a living I loved being on commission when I was younger because I was super fast and I would stub 120 hours week. My brother would get on 2 of his painters that worked for him all the time and tell them my lil brother stubs 120 hours week and yall 2 together don't do 120 hours week he would tell them if they didn't pick up there pace that he was going to call me and put me in there spots....lol
Spectacular job guys. Sorry but have to ask…how do you paint the other parts separately and make them match?? My buddy’s’59 El Camino was done in a metallic silvery blue, by a local body shop and Shell, doors and fenders don’t exactly match. Needless to say he was super pissed, after waiting so long for the car to be finished. Do much that didn’t even want the guy to fix the job.
Is jet black easier to blend/match???
Subscribed 😎👍
JT
nice job
Awesome job What did you use for final wipe
Sem Solve wax and grease remover
I My self would like to be able to spray paint As good as or better
No need for a flow coat. Great job!🙏🏼
Yes! Thank you!
Anyone need to comb their hair?! Amazing job guys! Take care and keep up the great work!
Very nice! However this car seems to deserve Led Zepplin’s The Ocean. But the painter is a youngster so I get it. Kinda. Brilliant results.
Was that LS-400 entech sealer/base WS-400 evoclear?
WOW from a 50 year veteran in the trade .
Thank you 🙏
Eastwood single stage?
Not even close
How come you don't paint the doors and everything else at the same time? Too much to do at once?
With this method, we can spray the door jambs and exterior all at once.
@@MackeysHotRodShop Thanks for the reply, but how come you don't paint the doors and hood on their racks when you paint the rest of the car? I understand taking them off so you can paint the jambs, but it makes sense to paint everything at once. (just trying to understand, not be a smartass)
What microphone are you using?
For voice overs or in the shop?
Would be nice if he said how not to get orange peel....nice job but was hoping for a hot tip
I thought super fancy paint jobs got wet sanded at the very end and then buffed out? Sorry if im ignorant.
Thank you. And Yes, you’re right. Next few videos will be all about color sanding and budding.
My favorite year chevrolet
do wait 15 min 4 sealer 2 flash off thats what i would give it
Definitely
Wow 🇺🇲
I love that glasurit clear but at $1,100 a gallon my customers just cringe
What are rare car of course it has to be worth it just to restore it
I would say. That is Hard to do better.
Slick as cat poop. Which is a damn Good thing
This guy.....

Thanks for editing out the important parts of spraying the base and clear. 😒 this is a show off video. Nothing to learn here.😒
I'm 63 I did almost as good as this outside in my mom's yard 😂
