LOVING your Bee Gees reactions & you're right on point!! Even though they were that good, they were very humble, kind & caring guys. Others have mentioned they weren't educated (dropped out of school young) or never learned to read & write music, but another notable thing is they grew up extremely poor. Their careers spanned more than 50 years til Maurice passed in 2003 & all that time they basically supported their parents & own families. So we're here for it & lots of us Bee Gees fans are enjoying your journey!🎼

Three brothers raised and grounded by great parents, who started singing together when they were just kids (check out some of their really early black & white stuff as kids; they were so cute and could write and sing great even that long ago)! Barry Gibb has been married to the same woman for over 50 years now! And he could have had as many as he wanted, but believed in fidelity. All three brothers were kind and friendly. Amazing!

... this was considered their 1975 comeback song. It was the first release from their phenomenal "Main Course" LP, and it went all the way to #1 on the Billboard Hot 100. This LP was more R&B based than any of their previous albums. "Nights on Broadway" and "Fanny (Be Tender with My Love)" were two other great singles that came from this LP.

Was shortened for that vid, it's longer on the albumtrack or on many of their live-performances over the years. Out of all very successfull artists, they've been the ones with not much help from so called music-critizens which often tried to get them out of the race with silly comments about them. And if that's not enough, in 1979 US-radiostations backballed them. That crime of backlash lasted round about 10 years. Barry said: If they're not willing to give us airplay, we're gonna write and produce albums for other singers. And so, Barbra Streisand, Kenny Rogers, Dionne Warwick and Diana Ross were served with bestseller-albums like 'Woman In Love', 'Eyes That See In The Dark', 'Heartbraker' and 'Eaten Alive'. Bee Gees made a huge successfull comeback in 1987 everywhere outside the US with Nr. 1 song 'You Win Again' and other Top-Ten tracks like 'Ordinary Lives' or 'Secret Love'. They came back to billboard-charts (highest peak was Nr. 8) in 1989 with a song called 'One', so please check it out. Subscribed so I must say you missed nothing what's remarkable about 'Jive Talking' and I really enjoyed every reaction you did so far. Their constant bandmembers those days were Dennis Bryon on drums, Alan Kendall on leadguitar and Blue Weaver on keyboards. The additional keyboarder on this track is Geoff Westley, standing in the background.

The BeeGees were: the tallest and oldest brother (with the big hair and beard), Barry Gibb, born September 1, 1946, the only surviving Gibb brother. Robin Gibb (with the long hair, no beard), born December 22, 1949-passed away May 20, 2012, and Robin's fraternal twin brother Maurice (the balding brother with the beard, pronounced "Morris") Gibb, born December 22, 1949-passed away January 12, 2003. They also had another, younger, brother Andy Gibb, born March 5, 1958-passed away March 10, 1988.
The three oldest brothers were born on the Isle of Man (UK). Oldest brother Barry got seriously burned when he accidentally pulled boiling tea over himself at 18 months old. He was in coma for a while, nearly died and was in hospital for many months. Because of this, he did not learn to talk until after the twins were born. Later the family moved to Manchester and from there they emigrated to Australia in 1958, right after Andy was born.
All 4 brothers are just natural musical talents. All of them dropped out of high school in their early teens and none of them could read or write music. All their compositions were created completely organically.
Their musical career, which they had started as little kids, didn't lead to international success so they moved back to the UK in 1966. Then they had a string of big hits, until they temporarily broke up around 1970 for 15 months. Started back up, looking for a new sound which they first found in 1974 with the transitional album "Mr. Natural". After that "Main Course" was the first album that moved them into a new direction: more rhythm&blues, dance music like with great hits like Nights on Broadway and Jive Talkin' (and was also actually the first album on which their logo was introduced).
From 1976 on they went all out with falsetto driven dance music which lead to their biggest commercial success as they provided classic songs for the Saturday Night Fever Soundtrack (1977 Stayin' Alive, How Deep is Your Love, Night Fever amongst them). You should react to the 1979 live version of Stayin' Alive, too th-cam.com/video/7niXSh7vWRI/w-d-xo.html Other great songs to analyze: great album tracks from the 1979 Spirits Having Flown album, the title song: th-cam.com/video/WH_j90fCIk4/w-d-xo.html, the outrageously beautiful song Reaching Out th-cam.com/video/vfHUS5Mf00Q/w-d-xo.html. Mo was extremely underrated yet did most of the music arrangements. He was so gifted. If he could touch an instrument he could play it and was fascinated by gadgets. He was a man way ahead of his time. Robin too could play multiple instruments even though none of them could read music. They grew up very poor here in Australia but grew up to have a great social conscience. They were the first group ever to donate all proceeds of a song to charity with Too much Heaven proceeds going to UNICEF where it still makes them millions. They also donated the proceeds of Blue Island to help with the aftermath of the Bosnian war particularly the women and children. Wonderful men.

YEA! The bassline! He's my favorite: Maurice. I've seen Robin play the guitar and piano. Maurice said 'Jive Talking' is an expression that was used in the black community (60s - 70s.) that meant 'you're bullsh---g me.'
Here are a few more suggestions:
    Secret Love th-cam.com/video/iVseOSFTGAw/w-d-xo.html
    One th-cam.com/video/KRUeMgzOCCo/w-d-xo.html
    Alone th-cam.com/video/DFMQTKnTMAA/w-d-xo.html
This is a song he recorded (1980) with Barbra Streisand. Barry Gibb and 3 other men produced the album. The brothers wrote the words for 'Guilty.' Then Robin and Barry wrote the rest of the songs.

This Is Where I Came In th-cam.com/video/5a95WRSWvHA/w-d-xo.html
With that song, they made a room similar to what their bedroom looked like while young boys. They slept in the same bed. Robin said they really didn't have a script. They basically improvised throughout the video.

Maurice was such a great bass player! I bought the Rick 4001 in my photo just because he played one like it in this video! 😄 Tour musicians, yes. The brothers were some of the nicest people ever. Always had time for the fans, big charity donators, too...they gave the royalties to 'Too Much Heaven' to UNICEF children's fund, forever...close to 15 million raised so far! Don't miss 'Alone', for more of Barry's and Robin's sky-high falsettos! The video with clips of them in studio, meeting fans, and goofing around when they were young is the best...excellent!

Oh, and a fun piece if you love crazy bass guitar is by the Brothers Johnson, "Strawberry Letter #23." It's got a relaxed funky jive to it. Can't wait to see/hear more of your reaction videos!

The keyboardist with the long blond hair and the white shirt was their main keyboadist, Blue Weaver. He was part of "the Bee Gees band' from Main Course through Spirits Having Flown. Blue Weaver on keys, Alan Kendall on lead guitar, and Dennis Bryon on drums. The bass is kick a$$ on this, but the drum line is awesome, too.

In General It is better to hear the audio version in every song.
For example you've reacted to the live version of "Nights on Broadway" and because of that you miss sounds and vocals. this is the song that Barry Gibb find out in the first time that he can sing in falsetto and in the live version you don't hear it.
When you'll react to TRAGEDY make sure to do it with the original audio version from 1979.

All the cords by each guitar says, they are not just there for looks. The Bee Gees wrote over 1,000 songs, dad said how, Barry said, we only ever put emotions to music. They had 3 no 1's in Saturday night fever, each pushed the previous one off the top spot, the next hit in line, Barry wrote for the movie, and Evonne Elliman sang it. After disco died, he just wrote hits, for other top artists.

@@bShawreacts - Actually Barry and Robin were the songwriting team and sometimes Mo writing "Islands in the Stream" for Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton, "Guilty" and "Woman in Love" for Barbra Streisand, "Immortality" (with Mo) for Celine Dion, "Emotion" for Samantha Sang, "Come on over" for "Olivia Newton John, "Heartbreaker" for Dionne Warwick, "Chain Reaction" for Diana Ross and others as well as their own hits. Mo often wrote with them and was the guy who found the right chords for the music and lyrics. Barry did a lot of producing and wrote for younger brother Andy and solo LP's. Robin had 7 solo LP's (big in Europe) and wrote for others like "Help Me" for Marcy Levy and "Hold on to my Love" a big hit for Jimmy Ruffin and just before he died wrote "The Titanic Requiem" played by the London Philharmonic. Mo wrote solo too like "Railroad" and "Hold her in your hand". In the 70's they had 5 of the top 10 Billboard songs in one week, a record! Saturday Night Fever unfortunately associated them with disco and they were blacklisted in spite of making great music into the 80's, 90's and 2000's.

It’s extremely tough to learn to do both at the same time. Just like everything in time (with a lot of practice of course) it does become easier. It is almost easier to do both together after figuring it out as crazy as that sounds. It does take loads of talent to do it either way! The Brothers are so talented that they make it seem easy!
