When they relocated America they weren’t sure what sort of music they wanted to do. Their friend, Eric Clapton suggested they would be terrific with R&B. The rest is history.
Three of brothers. Barry with the falsetto, Robin his hands on his hips, Maurice on the right. Robin & Maurice are twins now deceased. Recorded live in one take with an orchestra in background. Kings of Disco.
A little background information for you.....they could not read or write music.....they created solely by ear.....no musical training.....all God given talent. The Bee Gees are the GREATEST group to EVER grace the music world.....There will NEVER be ANOTHER group like them......EVER!!!!
@ 8:43 I miss the days when guys wore tight pants or even wore pants that fit them!! Not digging the pants hanging around the bottom of their butts (don't need or want to see that ever) or worse. I would love for that style to disappear completely!! Barry is in the middle, Robin is on the left and Maurice is on the right. They're all brothers. Bee Gees are Legends!! RIP Maurice and Robin.
Kathy here - just found your channel. 3 brothers, one mic and no auto tune. Will never be another group like this one. Loved your reaction when Barry did his first solo riff! Thanks for your review!
And thats why he can hit those high notes , its the tight pants lol . The bee gees have so many hits . When Barry gibb is singing you can see the emotions when he sings . They all have awsome voices . Thanks for your reactions 🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦
We BeeGees fans love to see the joy in the faces of young people as they discover the beauty of these classic and very romantic treasures. These songs are timeless . My husband and I danced to this song in our living room last night. No one can stir my heart like Barry and his brothers. Oh, except my husband of course😊
That was one fun reaction. You went through the six stages of BeeGee awakening that we all go through. 1. Shock 2. Amazement 3. Dopamine overload 4. Relaxation 5. OMG they are some tight pants 6. BeeGee withdrawal.. Rinse and repeat. They are also that great in concert. Unbelievable harmonies
You are absolutely correct about all of those stages! I enjoyed every second of that performance! Thank you for taking the time and watching my reaction! Hope all is well. 👍
Yes those were tight pants & everyone wore tight pants! The style of the day. I literally cried the first few times I heard this song from the beauty of this song just exploding in my heart! This song just makes me float!❤
This was the 1970s. Tight pants and platform shoes were the order of the day. I love your reaction. You looked like you didn't want to really listen to them. Then your expression was fantastic. This music is good for your mood and soul.
Listen to Tragedy, they wrote that song the same day as this one. 100 Top 40 hits, second all-time to the Beatles. Their Saturday Night Fever soundtrack album is second all-time behind Whitney Houston's the Bodyguard soundtrack. These brothers captured a couple of generations in their prime, and are now capturing a couple with theses reaction videos. Tight pants and wavy hair was the trend of the late 70s.
This was done in l take. Robin and Maurice are twins Barry is the lead singer. Andy Gibb also had his own career but Barry is the only one left. One would be hard-pressed to find a better trio of men singers.... EVER!! Andy Gibb was their younger brother. Check out some of his videos. The song, Shadow Dancing.... is one of Andy's vids to check out, really GREAT!
I'm 47, and this is one of my favorite songs from them. This just melts my mind, body, and soul, delivering me into a state of pure bliss. When I was younger, my precious mother would put Bee Gees music on and hold me; sometimes she would comb my hair. I'm blessed to still have her with me, and I now play this music on my phone, and we watch videos of them while I comb her hair. Beautiful, nostalgic memories. This song gives me the feeling that everything is going to be okay in my life. That's what their music does to me. For me, this music is heaven on earth. Thank you for your honest reaction to a classic from True Legends. God bless you and all who are watching and listening. Enjoy everyone!🙏🏼♥️🙏🏼
this was recorded live in studio with orchestra at the Bee Gee's own studio in North Miami Beach in 1978.....the same studio that they recorded the Saturday Night Fever album in, in late 1976, and that Barbra Streisand recorded her "Guilty" album in 1979 (filled with Barry Gibb songs), and the studio in which Barry Gibb (BG's lead singer) wrote the Dolly Parton/Kenny Rogers classic "Islands in the Stream".
This isn’t live! The recording is 18 solo tracks laid down by Barry and further 9 of all 3 brothers together. He laid each one without any other vocal track to listen to. Each one was so perfect the producers had to “roughen” it up ! Phenomenal
@@maelilmc4079 You are correct about the live performance part, but this song was done specifically for UNICEF, towards helping children. All the royalties from this song went to that cause and so far, there has been over 20 million dollars raised. I think 1978 was the year. No auto tone just pure musical talent. Also Barry Gibb, the guy in the middle along with Paul Mcartney, are in the guinness book of records for the most songs ever written by a performer song writer.
@@cat793cdumpy I didn’t make any comment about the Unicef donation which I’m well aware of. I was simply pointing out that this video is not a live recording. As for Barry Gibb being alongside Paul McCartney I know that too. My saying Barry Gibb rather than the BG brothers is deliberate.

They all take turns at lead on different songs. They wrote and sang over a thousand songs and never had a bad song ever. Kings of harmonies and musical geniuses with a career spanning 5 decades. Barry in the middle Robin and Maurice on the ends. They started singing when Barry was 9 and the twins were 6. Any BeeGees song is excellent and all different genres adapting with each decade.
They all took turns, but Barry was the lead most of the time, and the main songwriter. He came to be seen as the lead, much to the jealousy of his brothers. Especially Robin. There was a lot of sibling rivalry behind the scenes. Apparently Barry and Robin never got along, and Maurice was always the peacemaker. But at the end of it all, they were brothers first, and the Bee Gees forever.
Its a studio setting, no mixing, pure voice and instruments. Barry is the middle guy and the oldest brother, Robyn also has a very strong and unique voice and Maurice (right) sort of slots into the middle. Theyve been performing together since they were children. There was another brother, much younger, Andy Gibb, who looks just like Barry but sadly died at 30. He had success in his own right. Also, they wanted to be remembered as song writers not vocalists!

The Bee Gees, my favorite of all time. They were musical geniuses!! And their songwriting skills were as fantastic as their voices. They wrote sooooooo many number 1 hits and also so many number 1 hits for other artists! Barry sang lead most of the time, but Robin sang lead on some and he was just as good, his falsetto was AMAZING!!!
The exhale and inhale!! Watch Barry's chest, stomach. They all wrote, they all sang lead different songs. Greatest song writers ever. This was at their studio. Tight pants in the 70's.
I’m completely and utterly convinced these guys have got to be some of the most talented people I’ve ever come across and I’m loving it! Hope you enjoyed the reaction videos! I’m try my best to not bore everyone with my comments and feelings but these guys know how to touch that part of me that I can’t help but to feel good and want to share my thoughts with everyone! More to come soon! Take care and be safe out there! 👍
@bShaw Reacts I've read everything book and article I can find. I love the details of their lives. They fought, they split up, loved and were mad at each other. So expected of close brothers. Go down the Rabbit Hole of their lives, you'll love them even more. I can't even describe them. In my opinion, talented is not even the worthy word. I wish they were all here, you can bet they'd still be writing songs and singing like Barry.
i am almost 66 now and i grew up with all the talent of the 60s-70s we took it for granted. and as a musician i can't believe you have never heard this! now you need to listen to the righteous brothers,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
As well as singers they wrote and eventually produced their own music. They wrote music for others too Diana Ross, Barbara Streisand, Kenny Rogers, Kenny Rogers & Dolly Parton & Celine Dionne to name only a few. Many have covered their work including Elvis Presley and Frank Sinatra. The amazing thing about these boys is not one of them could read or write a note in music, manuscript meant nothing to them. The said it was 'All organic', they all played guitar and keyboard and wrote by using named notes. Barry and Robin were mainly the lyricists and Maurice was the expert harmonist who knew how to divide the work for two, three or four voices.
You must know staying alive they owned the 70's disco they were disco and about half of there songs are like this one they also wrote songs for other artists
This is my first song watching and listening from the Bee Gees ...so I started to explore this amazing great band from their documentary , their childhood musical journey till now ...I became their die hard fans now...😊🎉 Every day I love to watch and listen to them ..😊❤
At 5:15, when Barry begins "When you are to me...", Robin, at left, winces a bit, then makes a face because Barry does go off-key there. Robin smirks, as if to say, "Yeah, all right, then." It's only been recently that I've noticed it.
@@bShawreacts Yeah. I was 16 when this song debuted. We were used to hearing the Bee Gees. I watch reaction videos of this particular BG song for fun, because you and others react the exact same way, with both astonishment and happiness. It's really rather universal, your reactions. I'd watched several before noticing Robin's "surprise", and the reason for it. I wonder how many others also noticed through the years? Anyway, mine is simply an observation.
Welcome in the Univers of the Bee Gees. They had so many Songs. And every Song is a surprice. I grow up with the best Group ever. Amazing Voices Amazing Song Amazing Bee Gees. 🕺🥰👍
This was a live recording multi layers used but no auto tuning that is there voices band started in 1958 came into there own but hit it real big in 70's 80 90 2000 they were massive with over 1000 songs written for them and others
I was married one year (1977) before this was released in 1978. This would have been in my wedding. Love, love, love the Bee Gees. I am a black female, 68 yrs old, grew up with them. (A bit lengthy, but a must read.) The Bees Gees: (from left to right) Robin, Barry and Maurice (pronounced Morris) Robin (Dec 22, 1949 - May 20, 2012) passed away as a result of kidney failure. Maurice (Dec 22, 1949 - Jan. 12, 2003.) Passed as a result of a twisted intestine. He was in the hospital for 2 days. Barry said he had a heart attack, but the doctors still operated. Maurice and Robin were fraternal twins. Andy Gibb, the youngest brother, had his own successful career. He was 12 yrs. younger than Barry. He and Barry looked so much alike, that they could had been twins. Andy passed away in 1988, at the age of 30. Lived a lifestyle involving drugs, and he had heart problems. The brothers wrote all of his songs. Barry (middle) stated, "I am the last man standing." He was born September 1, 1946. He has 5 adult children and 7 grandkids. On September 1, 2022, he and his wife Linda celebrated their 52nd wedding anniversary. (They were married on his 24th birthday.) On a side note, the first born is their sister, Lesley, who was 78, January 12, 2023. Lesley didn't have an interest to be in the limelight, but she can sing. They wrote all of their songs, and songs for other singers, which they sang after the songs were released for the other singers. The brothers have a VERY IMPRESSIVE catalogue of songs! I recommend the following songs: How Deep is Your Love th-cam.com/video/XpqqjU7u5Yc/w-d-xo.html Jive Talking th-cam.com/video/oALKAh_bL5g/w-d-xo.html Closer Than Close th-cam.com/video/m6XIdjEHLRs/w-d-xo.html One th-cam.com/video/KRUeMgzOCCo/w-d-xo.html You Win Again th-cam.com/video/KZY9oYSSjFI/w-d-xo.html Spirits (Having Flown) th-cam.com/video/ONmVEJnxysc/w-d-xo.html Bodyguard th-cam.com/video/Fx5XwIKCs3o/w-d-xo.html Emotion (written for Samantha Sang) th-cam.com/video/b_wTZjo9azk/w-d-xo.html (Destiny Child's cover has too much drama. But Barry liked it.) Our Love (Don't Throw It All Away) Andy Gibb (12 years younger than Barry. th-cam.com/video/eH686Dyy16w/w-d-xo.html At one time 5 of their songs were in the top 10. Another time, four of the songs that were written by them for others were in the top 5. A song that Barry wrote for Andy was #2, but then it went to #1, and the Bee Gees song became #2
Wow! Great information and I am super impressed with all of these guys! Thank you so much for the list of songs to check out. I have a lot of requests coming in and I Love It! I’m going to record some more reactions soon and will most definitely be reacting to some of the songs on your list! I have a feeling I’m going to become a super fan of the Bee Gees! If they sing like they did in Too Much Heaven, I’m in!!!! 👍🙌
Oh and by the way, that is Barry, Maurice, and Robin Gibb. The oldest is the lead singer, Barry Gibb. Robin and Maurice are twins. They had a younger brother Andy. Barry is the last brother still alive.
Three brothers, amazing harmony, one microphone, and an orchestra.....best in the business! Enjoy this warren of a rabbit hole.Barry is lead, Robin, and Maurice are the harmony on this one. They wrote this and a few other songs one afternoon and performed it live with all proceeds going to UNICEF. They spanned 5 decades of writing and performing.
Barry absolutely crushed that vocal! The other two brothers are just as important to the whole mix of the song! Without them as a whole group I feel like something would be missing. You are correct about their harmonies! They are indeed Amazing! Thanks for taking time to watch and responding to the video! Greatly appreciated! 👍
I found you on Easter Sunday and love u already ❤. My all time favorite group. They have written over 1000 songs. Have 5 decades of hits. 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s. Even into 2000s. Until Maurice passed in 2003. :(

They donated this to UNICEF someone said in another channel and raised like 11 million dollars.
They also wrote all of their music and have wriiten for hundreds of artists

“Love You Inside Out” is probably my favorite Bee Gees song.
Is their singing totally live? If so unbelievable
They are brother 's. We're singing together since they were kids
They do take turns , but Barry , Robin and Maurice all have beautiful voices
i am almost 66 now and i grew up with all the talent of the 60s-70s we took it for granted. and as a musician i can't believe you have never heard this! now you need to listen to the righteous brothers,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
That would be interesting to react to! Don’t think I know anything by them… 👍
Same reaction every time, 4 beats into the vocals and eyebrows go up and jaws drop. Luv it!
😀 They are just so talented!
i was staring at the "tight pants" just when you paused to say his "tight pants" caught your eye too!!! lmao
Haha 😂
Barry (the middle) is the only surviving brother. He sings from his heart. Still married to the same woman all these years.
He is an amazing person for sure with a great voice!
That was the style in 1978
This song drains u...then fills u up then blows u away.....❤❤❤
I am so glad that someone else noticed the pants. 😂
You must know staying alive they owned the 70's disco they were disco and about half of there songs are like this one they also wrote songs for other artists
That's everyone's first reaction. leaning in closer in disbelief. Best three part harmonies on planet earth. Ever.
That’s crazy!
Great observation! You are what I call a true fan! Thanks for watching and hope you enjoyed the reaction! 👍
I recommend the following songs:

Jive Talking th-cam.com/video/oALKAh_bL5g/w-d-xo.html

You Win Again th-cam.com/video/KZY9oYSSjFI/w-d-xo.html
Spirits (Having Flown) th-cam.com/video/ONmVEJnxysc/w-d-xo.html
Bodyguard th-cam.com/video/Fx5XwIKCs3o/w-d-xo.html
Emotion (written for Samantha Sang) th-cam.com/video/b_wTZjo9azk/w-d-xo.html (Destiny Child's cover has too much drama. But Barry liked it.)
Our Love (Don't Throw It All Away) Andy Gibb (12 years younger than Barry. th-cam.com/video/eH686Dyy16w/w-d-xo.html
At one time 5 of their songs were in the top 10.
These brothers were bang 'in out hit after hit after hit. They had the secret sauce in both lyrics & music. These boys were not play 'in.
Completely agree!
Oh and by the way, that is Barry, Maurice, and Robin Gibb. The oldest is the lead singer, Barry Gibb. Robin and Maurice are twins. They had a younger brother Andy. Barry is the last brother still alive.
Super talented brothers! Amazing! 👍
I miss the 70's! 🎵❤
You do realise that this wasn’t live don’t you?
Yes..love song ..but i still love "how deep is your love "by them ..youll love it too
I did a reaction to how deep is your love… Amazing song and very touching lyrics! 👍
Nurse Christy is a friend. That means she is willing to give a piece of her soul to help you. From that gift, you are seeing new possibilities.
Absolutely Truth!!!! 👍
This is a lovely song from the Heaven sang by three angels.❤😊❤
I found you on Easter Sunday and love u already ❤. My all time favorite group. They have written over 1000 songs. Have 5 decades of hits. 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s. Even into 2000s. Until Maurice passed in 2003. :(
Thank you so much! Glad you enjoyed he reaction videos! I'm literally blown away by their talent and I have only heard two songs! More to come soon! Thanks again! 👍
They take turns
that was a classic line at the end when he says those are some super tight pants yo. haha
I love watching reactions to the Bee Gees. I have probably watched 50 of these videos and i have heard the words blown away and speechless about 150 times. They were and still are amazing!❤
