I never understood when actors would be upset when fans will associate the character they played with them. That character is the person we fell in love with and it is YOU who created that character we love. It is refreshing to see that you embrace being "Jim" for that reason.
It probably helps that Jim was never reduced to catchphrases and the like. His pranks arguably got more absurd as the series went on but he remained a fairly dynamic character with plenty of iconic moments. Compare that to someone like Matt LeBlanc, and how much he's had to hear 'how you doin', though tbf he seems to have embraced it to some extent.

Most of the more recent shows produced in the last 20 years in which you can hear laughter, really are filmed in front of a live studio audience (that's why the shows went through the trouble of saying so at the beginning of each episode). The laugh-track stuff was more of a 1960s-1980s(early 1980s) thing, and I guess later a stupid kids show Disney Channel or Nickelodeon thing, but mainstream TV more or less abandoned the canned laughter some time ago. The problem is, so many people naturally got to assuming if they could hear ANY laughter, it MUST be fake, because that's all they've ever been told, so it's a technique that's died out. The Office was never an appropriate show for that kind of vibe anyway (it would never have suited the awkward cringe-humor thing, silence was crucial for that) ... but audible laughter is not completely without value depending on what the show is like, it's not an immediate "well, this show is just doo-doo because I can hear it" thing. How cool would it be if the old writers wrote a short Covid-19 plot for the cast and they could play their characters on a quarantine call. Clueless Michael taking charge, Dwight having his back, etc. Know virus is serious, but writers could pull it off tastefully and bring some needed laughs.
A journalist could dislike the video because it's not a real interview. It's just two friends talking, with the guy who is supposed to be the host talking more than the guest. That is how someone could dislike it; from a journalistic point of view. From a fan 's point of view, it is enjoyable.

Well you definitely want something carnal 😂
Andy: did someone say cornell?
My boyfriend and I just finished watching the office last night. It was his first time watching it. He loved it.
That's awesome it's great to rewatch I'm on like my 109th time lmao watching it as we speak.
Someone mentioned imagine in quarantine you finally decide to give The Office a chance and watch it. It would seriously be the best.
I introduced my wife to the Office and we are on season 8 now
We need a full office reunion on call, THAT WOULD BE SUCH A CHAOTIC CALL LMAO
How cool would it be if the old writers wrote a short Covid-19 plot for the cast and they could play their characters on a quarantine call. Clueless Michael taking charge, Dwight having his back, etc. Know virus is serious, but writers could pull it off tastefully and bring some needed laughs.
I love Steve Carell, last 2 seasons were not so interesting without him, he was the main character of show in my view
I agree!
I'm glad it was still so funny and still a great show bc all the other actors are so great
He was the cheese that holds the nachos together!
Those last 2 seasons felt so long without Michael. He really was an important character in the show.
Jim should do a duet of this with Dwight
Yasss!!!!
Yassssss it would be so funny
Yeaaaáahhhh
Yes
Who really think The Office is better than "Friends"?
Everyone who watched both
Office has lovable characters. Friends was just a bunch of whiners!
I’ve seen both and the office is WAY better
Taylor Catherine facts
theyre both equal , seriously miss shows like this
This more like John Karsinski interviews himself while Steve Carell watches
true
yoo fellow rust player in the wild
Yeah I wanted to hear Steve moreee
Just like annoying Jim

The office was one of the most legendary shows in TV history, and somehow still deserves more apericaiation
"best boss I ever had"
MAH HEART. MAH SOUL
The plasma tv part at 4:20 still cracks me.
I like when they move at 4:20

FOLDS😂
I laugh but I have no idea what they're saying.
Hey John, just wanted to say thanks for making this channel a thing, we need positivity now more than ever
It makes me happy to see two of the best characters from the office having such a lovely chat. John and Steve both are just such nice people.
can we just appreciate that Steve Carell has Paul Rudd/Anchorman tribute on his wall
Nice
Super appreciative over here 😄🙌
"You always left me satisfied and smiling."
Honestly, how can anyone dislike this video? It's just a mix of love, happy memories, and awesomeness.
A journalist could dislike the video because it's not a real interview. It's just two friends talking, with the guy who is supposed to be the host talking more than the guest. That is how someone could dislike it; from a journalistic point of view. From a fan 's point of view, it is enjoyable.

I had never seen The Office before 2010 when my husband left for his first tour, over a year, in Afghanistan. You guys got me through it, seriously. And when he got home safe, we watched all the seasons together. Then our son became old enough to watch, and we watched all the seasons again with him. We don't even watch TV much, but The Office was so outstanding. Thanks for this great interview, I'm late again by 3 years!
same
I Really love you guys, changed my life. Single dad of 3 went through many years in an abusive marriage, watching yall was a rare time i could smile. I wish i had friends like everyone of you. Thank you from the bottom of my heart
Steve Carell moves and talks like a president. And his home looks like a presidents home too. Stay safe all 🙏
Steve 2020
I'd love so much to see what John and Steve are talking about in the end, make another video like this but "a little bit more in character", I sincerely wish John could push to do that, it would be fun to watch.
C'mon Big Tuna! Makes us happy!
He talkin about the character he did on colbert
I’ve watched the office 5 times now and I’m still not bored of it
I know this most likely won’t get read but John krasinski and Emily blunt should be MR and MS fantastic in the fantastic four movies
beese churger yes
@@ebc817 yes! Absolutely. Ps it's invisible woman not ms fantastic
beese churger I’m pretty sure they’ve both already been cast as those two characters.
@@jacobsopko9413 no they haven't although john has expressed some interest in the role but I don't know about Emily blunt
✨🌟perfect ✨yes please🌟
Kind of looks like Steve has an anchorman photo behind him!
Aray no way that isn’t Paul Rudd
Aray does look like Brian Fantana
It’s an Anchorman Poster, alright.
Brian Fantana!!
*Buds. .. **I F#@kin hope he does!.. sheeesh.. how could you not? MF Comedy Gold, Seemingly ageless!, ((Or I Guess, Like a Good Old fashion, fine wine!! Or, a suburban housewife! .. Ya.. I said it..! .. So shoot me.. (with confeddii)
Currently watching it from the beginning again on Prime. Almost done. The Jim , Michael and Dwight scenes are always the best.
I watched every episode of SGN. So well done. Thank you forever, John.
7:06 let's be honest, this is the UNOFFICIAL last chapter of The Office.
Pam watching Michael's flight take off is the official ending of The Office for me.
@@kevincastellanos6328 The actual finale was a proper ending for me. S8 & 9 weren’t great but it picked back up near the end for sure
It doesn’t matter how many times I watch it... the goodbye scenes will always make me tear up
We need the group facetime interview with the office casts🙏
I can’t believe Steve’s 58 😔
PAIN.🥲
Like Pam's mum when Michael was dating her
Y E S
Tbh that’s not that old
That’s really nothing to be sad about
I love that these men are so humble in real life.
Please let “Michael” be your regular guest!

Why does Michael Scott sound like he wants to steal the moon.
Because America, That's Why
AHHAHAHAHHA
Best comment ever!!
he played fry
Now he really does want to go to the moon (space force)
SOOO refreshing to hear an actor say how appreciative they are with the role that launched their stardom.
Opposed to some, many😕, that almost act annoyed when a fan brings up that starting role. Ill never understand that, but at least there are actors like John and Steve that love it.👍👍😉
