I used to live in SoCal and took a visiting girlfriend to a local lunch place in cross creek, the "center of town" in malibu (it's a small strip mall with insanely overpriced surf gear and a Ralph's). After being seated I realized Brent Spiner and his son were sitting literally right next to us and i whispered in a hushed tone to my GF "Karen... that's the guy who plays Data on Star Trek!"
And she blurts out: "Why are you whispering about DATA?" kind of loud and Brent kind of looked down into his food and laughed.
