I don't know audio production, I'm not learning audio production, I don't intend to learn audio production. Yet I have watched every single one of your videos since getting recommended the one on the importance of silence, your rhythm is immensely entertaining and your lessons are hypnotic. I work with audio engineers often and have started recommending you to all of them, keep it up these are great!
This man... I can't describe this feeling, but ur videos make me feel so curious. Just like in the childhood, the whole world around you - is something new and very friendly. With ur help i can discover music again! Also, I should mention that your style and voice remind me of daft punk. There are so many pleasurable things in ur videos, but i havent got enough words to describe all of those.... Great work, keep it up!
@@sauvagemusic1844 I'm talking about the compact short-form style of the videos. If you can find a music creator with a similar style of content I will retract my statement.
you make videos that respect your audience, and i appreciate that a lot. many production-related videos out there feel like they’re trying to be a get-rich-quick scheme, selling people “you don’t need to know anything about music, just do these things and you’ll be a professional producer”, but your videos are general-case examples of techniques that people can use to further their own art. keep being awesome.
These tutorials are super fun to watch, as well as informative! The tutorials sound super natural as part of the songs, and it just makes the whole experience a lot better. Keep up the giod work!
This works for so much more than just delay. It's great for verb, or any other atmospheric effect. Old school reggae dubs were where this exact delay technique first became super common I think, but they had to do it with tape delays and analog mixers. So freaking cool. Thank you for sharing. Parallel processing is a great way to get a super clean mix. I definitely know what I'm talking about, I created the most compressed version of the Portal 2 Radio on all of TH-cam.
Thanks synthet. You have helped me figure out so many small - yet extremely practical - nuances to FL Studio as someone who has been producing for 15 years and approaching professionalism. Keep it up brother! (you know... besides the fact that you've been keeping it up for 8 months since you released this video...)
You know, I was wondering why this dude suddenly invades my feed. Then the most scary thought appeared, "YT AI realized my appreciation for music and literature and combined it in its recommendation algorithm" - dude is like those 17th-18th centuries prodigies producing universal works including principles, ideas, know-how on where to start and throughout all the parts the larger picture with a bit of "rel", while still applying all the preaching within the lessons. Like dudes writing whole national epics in some specific rhyme... melody... rhythm... Consider longer forms of videos :D
Guys this is a really good advice. Ive been using this technique on multiple different effects to adjust the volume and eq. I also like to use this with filter plugins to create another layer under the main sound. Its also really useful to create a template using this!
I once had a client who only wanted delay on the sibilance of his vocals, so automating the send in detail was vital. I wouldn't call effect send automation a "delay trick" necessarily but this comment section seems to adore you, I don't want to be a hater and this format is vastly more helpful than a long-winded tutorial that takes too long to get to the point and glosses over the very details the viewer is most interested in, so I'll say that I agree, automating the send can be cleaner than giving the affected signals their own tracks with their own effects. Cheers!
You popped into my recommendations out of nowhere and I Love it, I have been on a path to music production and you make it fun to learn. Keep up the amazing work!
You are awesome, man! This video was so much fun and you explained delays so well! You know how to make a new method or technique fun and made learning about it even more fun. Thank you, new sensei!
I love doing this, and adding other things like pitch and formant like he mentioned, and automating those too. Also automating pan back and forth on the delay can be fun. Can get some fun creative delays.
That was the coolest music production tip video using the effect in the narration of the video & in the song.. felt like a dream inside a dream but still soaked up all the knowledge.
Good shit bro! I usually bounce the vocal track with the processing on and then I add delay to that new processed track and just cut off the words I don’t want, it makes it easier for me to use comparing to automation clips
My native language is not English and I mostly have a hard time watching music production videos in English and I can't watch them, but this channel is so good and basic
i love your videos!!!!! This is the traditional away of using spatial fxs (delay, reverb and even phaser/flanger/chorus). In other DAWS, like ableton or pro tools this is the rule. That said, its great that you explain it like this and for us, FL users that not always know this things. Keep up! Greetings from argentina
The best I've seen in a while. Visually it looks cool. An interesting presentation of information. And if it doesn't seem to me, then the author speaks in the video to the rhythm of the music in the background and everything that happens on the video seemed to be recorded under a metronome.
I did it this way for YEARS but do this instead. Sidechain the vocal to the delay, but put a peak controller that's set to inverted on it so that the delay only gets room when the vocal isn't playing. That way your vocal is always "clean" and the delay will only occur when there is no audio coming through. The delay will always be on point without adjustments. Hope it makes sense! ❤
Bro is singlehandedly carrying my music production recommended on YT rn

you can also sidechain compress the delay to the clean signal, so it doesn't make noise when you're talking
Holy shit insane content. 1 minute long, catchy beat, and insanely helpful. Jesus this is perfection
