Great episode gentlemen! I have often pondered the evolution of sticks through my career from simple split sticks to viper Flex with fifth leg. I do wonder whether I could shoot as well as I used to without the modern aids and back on splits. Maybe I will have a go 🤔

Very helpful comparison review. My only ask is that when doing future videos, please please please identify and use the ammo you're rifle "likes" to help eliminate accuracy bias.

The presentation is getting good, what has happened with these sticks is an increase in the L to R movement. The marketing word is "Tracking" however if you go back a few steps people fine tune a load or use factory then set up on a bench and bags to dial in on a thumb hole group. They don't " track" the target off the bench as they want it rock solid for the thumb hole group.
My version of sticks are the B&Q type which have not L/R movement like the bench, I use them as they replicate the bench conditions on how the scope is dialled in, so for me one less factor to contend with. The trick with good grouping is less movement resulting in better shot placement, the Yoke type of sticks makes up for the lack of practice people put in as they might only commit their time to a stalk not out on a target. If you want to shoot well put in more time...

Beg to differ think the Blazer are better than the Vioerflex I find with those your front rail can tip left or right which causes the gun to slide Not good .

      Each to their own!

The front ‘rail’ of my Viperflex doesn’t tip at all. Similar looking sticks without the gear mechanism Viperflex use can tip though.

People claim prone-like stability with quad sticks from STANDING. Why not every hunter in the world is using them? How do they work in woody/rocky/bushy enviroments as far as easy of deployment? I am really, really shocked by that. It seems like shooting from sitting is almost useless with these devices around. Mindblowing

Quadsticks can be a little more tricky in woody or unstable conditions, but never to a point that they are unusable in my experience. No different to a tripod really!

That’s insane money for the Spartan, defiantly for showboating on Instagram! 😂

Just for a different point of view. I have these out here in NZ. With the hunting we do where so much of it is at altitude and often over multiple days all on foot, the lightness of the Spartan tripod is not to be sniffed at. It also allows me to use spotting scope, Bino’s and rifle all off the same tripod which from a weight perspective is worth paying for. I probably agree with these guys that for UK style stalking there may be better options but man that Spartan gear is nice when the elevation changes drastically.

@@jock465 yeah for that purpose I totally understand, but a bit much for a walk around a local 200acre farm (lots of people here buy things like this for places like that!)
