In art classes an exercise we had was to sketch real models with a time limit of about 2 to 3 minutes. Sometimes the models were the art students themselves. This was a good excercise that forced you to try and focus on the general shape instead of details, which is good to practice for various reasons.
We did something similar- gesture drawings. Students would take turns posing however we wanted and the rest of the class would try to capture their motion and structure rather than the details in a very small amount if time

I think it's so interesting how LT does her makeup and looks relate to her style! Like, the way that she does her eye makeup makes her eyes look big and brighter, and her eyelashes are less tiny and detailed and more chunky. (in the best way.) It makes her look like her persona!
It was super mesmerizing looking at the background immediately before and after the clipping layer was applied. It went from so many Babs + Sun to just being Sun standing in front of a bunch of pictures.
I love it when lavendertowne does big illustrations her art is mesmerizing to look at and see her draw, pick out colours and just see the process!! I hope she makes more detailed illustrations!

It's so interesting to see how different artists find themselves inking/sketching in different situations (like in this case when time is involved) because in my case I'm terrible at lineart and have pretty strong sketches, but other artists will have more messy sketches and just absolutely stunning lineart, and the amount that it differs between person to person is honestly amazing! This is a good way to isolate a character's most defining features. And if your character isnt so easily recognizable after a two minute sketch than probably tweaking your character design is a good idea.
