Coincidentally, I watched this video to see what the Michelangelo was after getting wrecked by one. Only to find out it was a video of the game with me getting wrecked. Now I know for next time, it has torpedos and lots of secondaries. Also fairly tanky for a cruiser.
Wow, seeing your secondaries 3 shot the destroyer was wild.. I do wonder if main battery accuracy module may be a better pick. I am definitely going all in for this one, there are plenty of game modes this ship may do well in, same with schroder.. on top of this you never know in the future if WG may give manual secondaries to cruisers or some more universal cruiser secondary buffs, many ppl would regret skipping schroder & Michelangelo.
after i got the Schroder i only played a few games in it and put it aside. a few months back PQ did a video with it so i took it back out and gave it more of a chance. it has been my most fun to play ship over the last few months, i just love the damage from the secondaries going wild. i already have the Napoli, but this one looks weird, but fun maybe. i hope to see others doing reviews also in the coming days to help me decide if it's worth the 6k dubs.
0:48 This is why I _never_ buy in at the start. I don't doubt my ability to finish almost any dockyard, but sometimes real life happens and there's no way to catch up. The positioning of the turrets is similar to that of the great Italian ironclad battleships of the late 19th Century, except that they had their turrets positioned out on the wings to allow head-on fire in pursuit or a ramming attack. No HE in the guns at all? That might be a deal-breaker for some.
Pretty normal for Italian ships. SAP isn't bad by any means, it just makes you better at handling DD's and Cruisers rather than lighting fires on BB's.
Secondary DPM on paper is higher than Napoli, but Max DPM is only in 87 degree angle (55° forward angle, 37° backward angle) Napoli on other hand has full 135 degree secondary firing angle (20° forward, 25° backward)
Some combine both side ,this one looks working fine as the secondary turret is in middle so it have to choose one side to focus while regular secondary ship can do both side at same time
I had a bit of asymmetric today with Zieten, bracketing a lot of broadside BB's and cruisers thinking perhaps this ship is all about positioning to be able to use the secondaries, in the meantime roll the dice every 22-25 sec hoping to see a 6. Fast forward a bit and voila, same thing here: all about the positioning. That's your main role, the secondaries will do the shooting and aiming.
reminds me of the old joke : if you gave a BB with only secondaries to KMS mains, they'll enjoy it. Also if you think that's cursed, I'd definitely like to present you the early sketches for Richelieu, it's the same thing
@@Blythe985 according to John Jordan (who's probably one of the best authors on French ships) ; project 5 and 6 bis were carrying two quad 380s in a P-Q configuration with the funnel aft of both turrets and quad 130 mm at A-B and X positions, it was abandoned because overweight to the WT tonnage (35000 tons)
This looks like a bad ship, but a very nice one to play in 3 players division. Imagine 3 of those together sharing smokes, or 2 and a DD spotting. I would be hilarious
Napoli is a CA, right? This is more of a BC with a mix of the 12.6in guns (that were used on Italy's WW-1 BBs) and the 6in secondaries (as found on more modern Italian BBs). That might change how you should play it. Those weird turret arcs remind me some WW-1 designs, so this is definitely a throwback...or someone's experimental design.
We have Shreder for germans, and now we have one of turtles who fight that ninga... Both are cruisers with sec builds... Hm than Splinter will be cruiser with only sec, without main guns...
ran into a triple div of testers in them .. they wrecked our A cap in a pain train but i managed to triple cit one for a dev strike before i went down in my Iowa. looks like a decent ship.
5:17 There is no way you should ever get away with a manoeuvre like that with an Incomparable on your broadside. Any normal player would get instantly obliterated... 😆
I have a Napoli - which I enjoy playing - I don't think I would play this ship that often with a Napoli in my port...I don't like the main gun angles at all and it isn't worth the grind to get those secondaries IMO
Downside compared to the Napoli is that it also burns like a battleship. 60 second fires aint something Napoli has to deal with. On the other hand that hydro gives it such a massive advantage. Having both a running smoke and a hydro is just as braindead as a regular smoke and a radar. Especially on a secondary build where it doesnt even get spotted as it runs towards you.
Honestly I think Napoli is better overall however, Michelangelo is damn good at Tier IX. My only problems are the gun angles and the easy to citadel broadside.
Not sure it's the SAP doing overpen dmg or a bug in the dmg/ribbons. I've been noticing it quite a lot lately, dmg numbers being very inconsistant. 1 example I had yesterday, on a practically full hp BB first shot 1 pen 5 bounces for 1k dmg (overpen value) second shot 4 pens and 1 overpen doing 1k dmg as well Or a few games later with Venezia first shot 5pens for around 10k dmg second volley 7 pens for 8k dmg both with sap I've even had overpens with a BB do more dmg then the equivalent in full pens. I know there's a saturation mechanism, but I've seen it happen even on near full hp ships at the start of the match.
@@berk6775 im only saying that 10% damage can also come from module hits if ship has full HP them only source of 10% damage can be overpen, module hit or coded limit (283mm+ guns AP/SAP vs DD's)

If I can’t get the Sistine Chapel camo, I’m out. On a serious note, I wish they wouldn’t bring more of these monstrosities to Tier IX. At some point Tier VII becomes unplayable.
I am so sick of secondaries. Having some 45%er in a ship with god tier armor just walk at me and kill me for free with AI gunners got old real fast after Schlieffen came out. And now they can't stop themselves from adding more and more secondaries.
The dockyard is the ultimate screw over........As WG makes these missions harder to complete may not complete this stupid ship and getting steel again you may not able to complete it again and pay in advance for the steel would be a total loss. The missions involving commander xp you better have a lot of boosters on hand..........
Hybrids aside this is the new weirdest ship in the game.
I rather have these hybrids than the CV/BB hybrid. Lol

Schroder with flag I get 12 km secondaries...works very nicely.
I pray for the day we get manual aim for secondaries, period. Like they do in the mobile game. It would make the game that much more interesting.
I was wondering how this ship would be compared to the Schroder I love mine and so glad I got it.
That Halland found himself locked in the non habitable orbit of you secondaries

Well, it's a Tier IX tho.
So even if you focus on Napoli in randoms, whats about ranked or brawls ;)
Well now I know why the one I saw in game just liquified to a Montana salvo
Looks like a fun and strong secondary cruiser, this dockyard is definitely worth grinding for.
Don't usually grind dockyard ships, but this might be worth it. Having a blast with Napoli and this might be something cool in T9 ranked.
11-inch or 283mm is cut-off for not dealing full damage to DDs. Anything smaller does full damage, while anything of equal or greater size does less.
I get the feeling this ship could be pretty strong in a T9 ranked/CBs season, similar to Schroder.
This thing has the worst secondary firing angles in the game.

Hey PQ, want to show some love here and want to proposed a comparison ship request: Mackensen vs. PEF
What you think?
Hydro is really nice to have in this ship, if Napoli had hydro too it would be OP as hell.
Main problem is the main guns angles :(
Dang, I wonder where they found space for all those engines and boilers
Wow. what UI mods do you use? I really like the way you make it look. also subbed.
Its basically a small BB and put into cruiser category with speed buff.
that secondary turret spins so fast
Honestly I think Napoli is better overall however, Michelangelo is damn good at Tier IX. My only problems are the gun angles and the easy to citadel broadside.

The main gun placement is a dealbreaker for me. Even the front gun requires 30 degrees angle just to shoot forward.
I feel that ships of this nature might come with manual secondaries skill built in

when you hit modules you get 10% damage, its most notable on secondary battery hits
Its about saturation when a ship part saturates(like nose, supersturcture) its takes less damage(about 50%)
