In my mind, this is still going to be a meme boat due to the fact that secondaries are not accurate and you need to count on good RNG on your side in order to do some damage with them. They also can't light any fires since they're SAP secondaries, so that also stinks.
For most casual players, the screen getting filled with incoming secondary fire toward their ship triggers the fight or flight response in our lizard brain. All those fireworks going off can freak a player out and cause them to run or just panic... even when the damage isn't really bad. Experienced players know to ignore the graphics and pay attention to their health bar, but casual players see fireworks and will automatically think they are in a world of hurt. Those are mind games that can work in your favor if you push in with secondaries visually blazing at everything.

The make or brake example is the t9 dockyard? cruiser Schroder its dispersion ellipse is about twice the diameter of a normal battleships secondary ellipse which in turn are about twice as big as Schlieffen ( Ohio is in-between ). So if Schroder is good enough to build into secondary's than any battleship who's secondary's have some amount of survivability are a viable platform to at least partially build into.

I friggin' love Colombo after her buffs(accuracy on paper is same and feels the same with these match replays) and see literally see no difference between the two other than Sicilia having a few SAP seconderies which honestly doesn't make all that difference with the DPM. No way even if I had excess RB points I would spend them on Sicilia rn.
The.only mentionworthy advantage of sicilia is he against dds. Thats it. Sap secs are useless because of accuracy. Sap mainguns on colombo are straight up better
I got sicilia yesterday and I had funny games on randoms, main battery consistency is good but sadly cant rely on your sap secondaries dmg but its great to have cause all run from them
I got her a few days ago. Was a tough choice initially between her and Colbert. The secondaries are fun and I would put her slightly ahead of Slava. Many Slava owners told me she's always over pen'ing and not worth it tbh. Can't wait for Asymmetrical to return
Nice match. I always enjoyed airship escort when it was in it's own mode; not so much in randoms. I'm curious to see how players react to this patch with the additional carriers and faster subs. I've been out of the game for going on a month so waiting to see how people like the meta before deciding to come back. Keep up the great work and take care.
Thing just seems like a worse Colombo. Colombo is so cracked with its current firing angles and slightly better accuracy. You get to actually use its armor, so you can just tank everyone and hit them for 15k+ with SAP regardless of their angle. Sicilia seems more like a meme to me.
The 381mm of Colombo was already good. On Sicilia I heard there's a better caliber. You can get the skill for super AP for you captain and that damage will absolutely be devastating.
Subs got a huge agility buff and plane ASW got a damage nerf. It's a buff since the only thign that has been nerf... is the fact that some rare backline Cruiser line got subs surveillance.
as for the broadside hitting salvos in lower to mid range: I had also some weird experience with my Meckle, 16 shots full hits (AP) into a broadside Montana within 5 km and one time within 9 km and NO, absolutely NO damage. Not sure if the Montana armor is so resistant or if there is a bug, but even the 305 of a Meckle should do some damage at this range... My guess, there is bug that the damage wont be registered by the server sometimes
I would personally go full secondary range but not accuracy, and that really comes down to the fact that your main damage dealer is not the secondaries anyways, they're there, they have decent range, you use that to make your main gun reload faster. If that mindset allowed me to gut punch a battle with 268k damage then I think a Sicilia will do it better simply cus it has a better base reload.
It's probably just the gamemode if nothing else. I grinded out Lepanto and Duncan in Airship last time it was around; I enjoyed Lepanto and hated Duncan. But in random, its very much opposite, I like St Vincent while I've had zero luck with Colombo. Which is sad, because I do like Veneto even in randoms, and still play her

The Italian 15" gun always had terrible HE since Roma. Same awful fire chance and mediocre alpha. Maybe an improved heal like the 40s cd one could help it play more aggressively?
So the aim bug that makes you have to lock on for a few seconds before you are actually locked works both ways, you stay locked a few seconds after they go dark for some reason as well. Noticed this running the Vermont lately and taking shots at things like Des Moines on a corner
thnx for great video,, sorry to say, i stopped playing the game when i met 2 subs 4 dd`s and a cv in a round,, was in a bb.. and under 3 minutes i was hit by two full salvos from cv torpedoplane`s,, and had been pinged two times by a sub,, with incoming torps, thats was impossible to dodge... then there was a gouden... can you make a video how to survive that??
I play c.Colombo almost entirely with ap; the sap is honestly not fantastic. To me, the Sicilia is therefore just a straight upgrade; a colombo even better at brawling thanks to the secondaries.

you can take Kremlin and just enjoy these kinds of battles. you don't need this Sicilia for it. But in general, this is how wows should be played. It's all about fun brawl, not the 25km meta shooting. Played 10 matches in a row and it's amazing. Nobody is camping on respawn.
I have all 3 battleships, If you want a brawling battleship then Ohio is the better ship, if you want a sniping battleship then Slava is better, Sicillia just meh, don't waste your hard earned RB points for it

I also love the way the friend who presented the video laughs like a bitch chicken (03:09 , 09:34 , 10:24 , 10:53 , 12:52 , 14:35 , 16:16 , 17:19 , 19:20 , 19:58).
