Zao's greatest strength is also her greatest weakness. She used to be the OG ship for firebombing battleships, but that was a long time ago before the days of the CV rework and submarines.

You read my mind as to how powerful she really is and I just give her full W and forget smoke and soon find myself bow on with 3-4 kills already, pushing like crazy for the CV. In any role I find her well suited, even if it is taking on AA. She is in essence a tier 10 CL but with traits and tankiness of that of a super ship. Just feels good to play and forgiving for all the human mistakes one can make helps you feel less stupid in comparison to squishy DPM'ers behind islands spamming HE. Ree “how do you kill Napoli”? As a primarily CV and Cruiser player, I think the answer to stopping a pushing Napoli are submarines. Sometimes torp DDs and Carriers setting up crossfires with battleships or super-cruisers can also work, but the only consistent thing that can stop a charging Napoli is a sub imo. Otherwise you're relying on luck, the Napoli making a misplay, or a lot of cross-firing BBs/SuperCruisers or enemy secondary battleships. That's an excessive requirement to stop a single supercruiser. Now if you can stop a charging Napoli, theoretically the things that can use HE to penetrate her upper belt and deck armor with HE are Azuma, Yoshino, Defence (when she comes out), Sevastopol, Admiral Schroeder, Siegried, Agir, Castilla, Piemonte, and every Battleship except for Rhode Island, Illinois, Picardie. If you're in Venezia, Piemonte, Michelangelo, or an Italian BB you can also penetrate both her upper belt and deck armor with SAP. Carnot, Henri IV, Conde, French Large Cruisers, 234mm British CAs, Kronshtadt, Stalingard, Novosibirsk, Congress, Alaska, Puerto Rico, Johan de Witt, Gouden Leeuw, Napoli, Rhode Island, Illinois, Picardie, and every remaining German cruiser except Mainz and Wiesbaden can penetrate her deck armor but not her upper belt with HE. Brindisi and Amalfi can also penetrate her deck armor with SAP, but will not get through her upper belt. These ships should be able to farm damage at the right range for plunging shell trajectories with good shell placement, but getting those circumstances isn't entirely in the shooter's hands. I suspect that the NA playerbase's shift away from BB calibre HE is why Napoli feels so difficult to kill. Napoli has the perfect survivability suite for shrugging off most HE shells up to 237mm due to her strong deck armor and lack of superstructure. Her Icebreaker bow and thick belt, deck, and forward citadel armor makes her very resistant to BB AP shells when bow on and angled. Worth noting that a kiting Napoli has a 25mm aft armor plate and only a small section of 60mm steering gear protection. If you can make Napoli run away she should fold like a house of cards. TLDR You want subs to stop the Napoli from advancing, and high calibre HE or SAP shells to grind her health down at longer ranges.

@@mrwillmoi No, it is not. It is decently maneuverable, decently quick and a full secondary build on it makes it very easy to farm damage and just be very oppressive to enemy flanks. I would say that its biggest 'weakness', if you could call it that, is the lack of a hydro. Meaning that if a Napoli is going to be caught out by anything, it's torpedoes. But even then, well, obvious torpedoes are obvious. What I mean is... torpedoes are the easiest mechanic to predict. If you see someone turning hard, there's a good chance they're lining up their torpedo launchers. And other such obvious tells. And its exhaust smoke makes it VERY forgiving in case of you making a mistake. It's very easy to just disengage on it. Pop a smoke, run away at full speed... problem solved. People who decide to try and follow you around will get into serious trouble once they get spotted by an team mate of yours. Since then, well, you can just have those secondaries fire from the smoke. Between Sherman and Napoli, I'd say Napoli is the safer pick, if you're still debating on that choice. Especially because of Sherman's rather... bizarre torpedo angles. Sherman is a one trick pony -- Its guns. Which, admittedly, are overpowered. But, still... that's the only trick it has. In a 1v1 between a Sherman and a Napoli, I'd always favor the Napoli. The only edge the Sherman might have there is the fact its main guns have a longer range than Napoli's secondaries do but... only barely.
i have been conducting some comparisons on some secondary CAs in asyms to see how they really compare. i played 10 games each in Napoli, Michal Angelo, Schroder, and for fun the Schlieffen. i played these games very aggressively but not suicidal, just enough to keep the guns always going. these are a mix of good games and bad, with a few losses along the way, but i took the results from every game and didn't pick out the best ones. i used asyms for the general even play by the bots. just a general average from an average player not in PQs league. lol. here are just the results of the secondaries. Napoli average damage 45,000 with 530 shells fired and 155 hits. no fires due to SAP Mic Angelo damage 48,000 with 622 shells fired and 168 hits. no fire due to SAP Schroder average damage 37,500 with 912 shells fired and 150 hits, plus 5 fires for an additional 9,000 damage. the low fire damage is due to the bots always having dam-con available when they catch fire and don't let it burn like a human. Schlieffen average damage was 98.800 with a570 shells fired and 530 hits. 8.3 fires per game and 22,000 damage from then, again against bots with insta dam-cons. this is not reflective of all the other parts of the game, and i am not showing the results of torp damage, main gun damage or potential damage. in an overall average the Schroder played the best even without it having torps, but all 3 are a blast if you like the sound of non-stop gun fire. and when you take into count the phycological effect of these secondary ships when played against human teams they are very powerful at keeping DDs away from caps just from fear of being shredded by the secondaries.
what a hilarious piece of shit >does nothing but spam torps and have high he alpha >bigger than most heavy cruisers with the turning circle to match ???
My god every game you play, kraken and absolute perfect set ups for kills and damage. I just cant seem to get what you get. There is even games where im like 15k in damage bc my flank had no enemies or my team over ran the other team or bad rng or etc etc. I've played napoli so so many times and never had a game like this, and ive never had 7 kills in a game. The most ive had is 6. And this is coming from a guy who plays ALOT. I also play aggressive not like the current meta where most people hold back and everyone is afraid to make the first move, and i still dont get anywhere close to these matches (not too aggressive where i die in the first 10 mins either). I need to re figure my life lol
Tbh i still prefer schlieffen but napoli is still very good. Schlieffen can be played as a heavy cruiser with 20% Rudder speed and gull camo: 11.9s rudder shift 12.6km spot range and 12/12.5 with flags secondary range and with comander skills mine can reach 37.5 knots unspotted and around 40! with sierra mike on top so it can push and run away and with hydro and decent rudder shift (for a BB) you can even avoid Torps with a bit of skill and be a Nightmare for any Cruiser/DD that gets spotted in secondary range
Finally got the Napoli after this video and its the most craziest ship i’ve ever played. 105k secondary battery damage on a 244k game with a three point captain. Get it before its gone for ever
Always thought its weakness was torps. The combination of slow rudder speed, no hydro, yet wanting to brawl means you're running into a lot of torps. Taking a big hit from them then really cripples your ability to push/brawl later game.
I've got my Napoli set up with all the maneuverability modules I can and maxed out on secondaries as well. Got her down to a six second rudder shift. Super maneuverable especially considering what a big cruiser she is.
@@jefftuckercfii Well, I gave it a go, switching from the full-steath setup I was running. Aand, you're dead right! Its soo much better - and more fun too! Thanks, bud!
@@oldmangames9292 - Glad you're enjoying her. Those secondaries will melt DDs and light cruisers, and with all the maneuverability mods you can dodge torps. Her own torps aren't bad, either. They're slow, but they've got range, so you can send them into a cap ahead of you and at least get the other guys to dodge and show you a broadside that you can wallop. And if you get into the CQ knife fight they are the blade you can poke into the enemy ribcage. I love brawling style and being able to do it with a cruiser is a treat!
She's one of the most fun cruisers to play at Tier X.... it's one of the ONLY brawling cruisers, if not the ONLY one that can really do it while allowing for a mistake or two (armor).
Napoli is pretty easy to Devstrike with Ohio and Vermont, something about the arc of the shells or possibly the overmatch, but it stands they don't often get away with broadsiding those US ships. But mostly with anything else that ship is a nightmare to deal with because it's so damn tanky
Wanted to get napoli, but i have tier 9 Giuseppe Verdi BB which fire SAP secondaries.... So questions is should i still go for a tier 10 napoli for extra tier with few torp or go for other coal ship like Jager or brisbane or any recommendation?
To be fair, Napoli is pretty strong, but I think it's balanced around the fact that you gotta play it at closer range. And only fairly experienced players can play effectively at close range, even in good ships. If you gave me the Napoli right now, I'd probably struggle to deal my health in damage if I were to play close range. I just don't have the instincts for it yet. And I suck at reading the map.
Yeah so many of today's players panic when faced with a brawl. Those of us from 2015 era WOWS love brawling but maybe struggle with the medium and long range HE spamming that dominates today..But brawl... We do well lol.
@@TheAddanz I'm still only at t8 with my Amagi, but even at T8 it's a tragedy. I always try to tank and push, but I always realize I'm alone and half my team is at the map border behind me. It's not only that they panic, it's that they don't even try to come over to the middle and brawl it out. Yesterday I had a game in T9. I pushed forward with my DD and the two of us took out 3 of the 5 ships on the flank, including me 1v1ing a Musashi. I was so focused on the battle that I didn't realize it was only me and the DD, and that our 3 T9 BBs were almost at the map border behind us, hiding behind an island. And I died because the remaining two ships were high DPM HE spammers that I couldn't hit, while the big BBs cowered behind the island, hiding from literally nobody. And that's not just in that game. This happens to me every other game I play with the Amagi and try to push. And I dunno what to do. I don't wanna snipe from the back, but when I push I die alone.
Played with you that first game. I kinda sucked I was the Vermont took a break for a few months so that’s why. Ive also never been really good with Vermont. ggs tho

when it comes to coal ships, you need to consider beyond just "what do I want". I would recommend playing smarter, not harder. so, I will admit, I'm a full collector here. I think I have all of the ships I can get, other than a few that I just haven't gotten yet. I would recommend buying the cheaper ships first, and working your way to the more expensive ships. why do I recommend this? most people are hoping to get a ship out of the Santa's gift containers and the super containers. in my opinion, I want to get ships that I cannot get for coal, let along minimal amounts of coal like 50,000. when RNGesus smiles down upon you, and a container drops a ship, it is better to get a more valuable ship than a cheaper ship. if you already have the cheaper ship, you cannot re-aquire the ship, so it'll default to either a more expensive ship, or a ship you cannot get for coal.
It's a lot of fun in randoms, and also a blast in clan battles. I really enjoyed Hindenburg before we had as many big-gun BBs, and Napoli gives me a lot of that play style back.
I've had enough coal for this Napoli for a while, but been weighing my options. After seeing this video, I think I'm ready to be part of the problem. >:)
Will have to disagree, the Napoli is a great ship but not at the least OP. Mine was very tough when it first came out, but not it seems like everything pens its taking lots of damage and subs destroyers and planes torp your smoke all the time. I never go broadside keep angled and moving and try to not get focased. And still eats lots of damage, ferls like WG nerfed it compared to when it is came out.

Napoli is faster than Mino and some DDs. It's just straight up an insane ship. Very fun. Very OP. You should try YOLOing with this. smoke at 8.9km. Run at BBs, torp and point blank cits. Defs your kinda jam.
Napoli is invincible. Full health Tier X BB vs 1/2 health Napoli? Napoli will win every time. Napoli Secondaries are more effective than 18" guns. It will sec you to death. Plus, Napoli can smoke sec you. If you close in it will torp you. BB guns will not do more than 1.5~4K per salvo. Cannot citadel it either due to armored bow.

Awesome replays, how do you change to that crosshair?
But mostly with anything else that ship is a nightmare to deal with because it's so damn tanky
hey love your videos these are helping me as a returning player can we have a list of what mods you use? and you think are worth considering to use?
Watching u play just makes me realise how much i suck 😂. I absolutely suck in this ship (or any other)
Wanted to get napoli, but i have tier 9 Giuseppe Verdi BB which fire SAP secondaries....
Just got her today. What a fine ship she is.
hey PQ! should i get this or groningen? i am trying to get my next coal ship and wondering which i should get
Holy shit, i just bought this thing, and it is my favorite Schlieffen of the game.
Please Ochakov, the forgotten light cruiser!
Yoshino/Azuma review next?
IIRC auto secondary targeting hits whatever target the most guns can hit currently
Played with you that first game. I kinda sucked I was the Vermont took a break for a few months so that’s why. Ive also never been really good with Vermont. ggs tho
Hey potato, am fairly new to wows, just wondering how you got your shell trails to look red, is that a mod? Thanks
Unique c0ommanders have a colored shell tracer you can turn on or off. Some red some blue.
@@scotty5166 oh cool thankyou
will the secondary ability help on accuratcy?
Do Marceau pls, the best coal dd imo
Everyone says that, but feel like it’s not an easy ship to play
Had a 8km broadside nap in ranked last night, 420s on my Grober K did 13k dmg 😢
when WG will introduce premium ships in trainingroom as the "target bots" - fullspeed to trainingroom, cuase reading this hurts me.
you know what isnt worth? EU/NA server not getting a new map in 2+ years while the RU server gets 3.
what italian commander do you use
Just missed the Michangelo, I hope WeeGee add that ship back as resource ship or at lease a ship that I can buy
plz can you help me how to unlock special commander italian?
20:35 outnumber +8% accuracy thats why salvoes where accurate
I just spent all the coal I've been saving for about 4 months, on the Napoli.
Napoli is my favourite cruiser right now. The sheer amount of battle impact is crazy. Also PQ unlock your discord so that everyone can send messages there
I love this series so hard.
"Ye-"
Oh come on! You did even give me time to say it.
when it comes to coal ships, you need to consider beyond just "what do I want".
Napoli was the first coal ship that I bought, never regretted buying Napoli 😊
I already have Marceau should I get Napoli or f Sherman?
Is it possible to get Sansonetti anymore?
It's a lot of fun in randoms, and also a blast in clan battles.
I really enjoyed Hindenburg before we had as many big-gun BBs, and Napoli gives me a lot of that play style back.
how do i get that crosshair? ive been dying to get it
Absolutely yes. Napoli is fantastic.
This settles it. Napoli is my next coal ship... It'll make up for getting Marco Polo first...
I'm worried they will nerf it the second I buy the ship
I have the coal: Jäger or Napoli?
Ah the Napoli...eats citadels and has anemic guns when I play it, may as well be invisible when i am playing against it.
thunderer is the only ship ive dev struck a napoli in
Napoli is one of those ships that wants range mod rather than normal mods with its weird dispersion.
Really appreciate you answering the question at the beginning of the video
Now I’m going to watch the rest instead of skipping to the end lol. I think I’ll subscribe and like as well 😂
The guns are deff rng but i do lioe how tanky the ship is .napoli is tanky with fun secondaries
I've had enough coal for this Napoli for a while, but been weighing my options. After seeing this video, I think I'm ready to be part of the problem. >:)
Trying to gun down a fuso in a t6 dd with single turrets, biggest pain in life
Will have to disagree, the Napoli is a great ship but not at the least OP. Mine was very tough when it first came out, but not it seems like everything pens its taking lots of damage and subs destroyers and planes torp your smoke all the time. I never go broadside keep angled and moving and try to not get focased. And still eats lots of damage, ferls like WG nerfed it compared to when it is came out.
captain build?
I always struggle to kill enemy Naps with BB & Heavy Cruisers like wtf
now i gotta grind the italian line....
Napoli is coal only, and none of the Italian cruiser line is similar to it. I don’t think it’s a bad thing though…
Lambasting ally for broadsiding the torpedo cruiser and then doing it yourself 3 minutes later! LOL
You sound like a loser... did you even watch with comprehension? He had to turn the ship to shott the Jinan, or he loses on points.... the Johann had no reason to do the same.....
Were you the Jager? LOL
how did I overlook that ship what the
Ship request, de grease
I saw the title and thought. Well that’s a rhetorical question. lol
Love this ship. So much fun.
I smell a Napoli removal from the armory by WG at some point. You know that they want people to gamble for such strong boats.
Hey man, I think you might have misread my chat on twitch when I asked if you were "getting carriered" as in focused by carrier in Moskva today and I was instantly banned. I hope it was a misunderstanding anyway. I enjoy engaging with you and chat so I hope you read this. Cheers bud.
Thanks! I need to take Napoli back in action from the moth bag.
Aim for the back end on the Nap and you will cit every time
Can we get a Wujing/alsace video please
Napoli is faster than Mino and some DDs. It's just straight up an insane ship. Very fun. Very OP. You should try YOLOing with this. smoke at 8.9km. Run at BBs, torp and point blank cits. Defs your kinda jam.
big fan of this vermont-player, cries about not beeing able to hit 100K but running B-Line :D
Day 12 of asking PQ to play on Helena
Napoli is invincible. Full health Tier X BB vs 1/2 health Napoli? Napoli will win every time.
Napoli Secondaries are more effective than 18" guns. It will sec you to death.
Plus, Napoli can smoke sec you. If you close in it will torp you.
BB guns will not do more than 1.5~4K per salvo. Cannot citadel it either due to armored bow.
can you tell me your in game name and server you are playing on ? 😁
It is 100% worth it
The thumbnail is magnificent
Your a Beast PQ!!!, that's an awesome way to start your vid man ,2 achievements right off the bat and the many after, almost choked on my food lol. 2nd game what can i say, you alone pushed back 5 opponets and that enemy Sherman in-game chat was funny. 3rd game it, it re-enforced the fist two vids that it is a Great Ship. Napoli+Sansonetti= Shhh no one say OP, I need to get it, sweet Ship 😂 😂 Thank you @PotatoQuality!.
Sicilia, the bigger, badder, napoli :)
Yes
Have to watch the OP talk or WGing will Nerf it into the ground.
Good. The ship is broken and any idiot can play it.
@@CreamyShroom World of Warships is full of idiots. They're just catering to their playerbase.
@@CreamyShroom sounds like your jealous and don't have it lol ! yea but its one of the few fun ships to play where you can go full potato and have some fun in todays camp in the back of the map meta. And for me this game is about having some fun and stress relief. So get over it,
Is Goliath Worth Getting In 2024?? i almost never see this ship
Yeah its not bad but there are better cruisers.
Day 33 waiting for Patrie secondary build (with IFHE)
"Yeah, I have 2 solo caps, have more xp on a loss than anyone on the winning teach, and have 7 kills, but I wasn't actually trying to get points or win." 🤨🤨As we have learned here with Brandon running the country, "You can't fix stupid."
This boat has one of the worst win records and damage of all t10 cruisers across all levels of players in randoms
Automatic ship in all of ports!!
I always thought its a bb
Napoli or Venezia 🤔
