I don't know that number off hand, just go to the any factory Mazda parts website and put your vehicle infor and search for thermostats, it will show the parts numbers.
@@motorcarnut I did just as your video instructed. 😊 It took me a little longer because I 1st to OK the small hose clamp & hose right off...but then I had to fight the clamp on the big hose to get that hose off, but once that happened everything went really smooth. Tricky doing the 3 screws but just took my time. The great news is, my wife's car is fixed & I saved her $250 that my mechanic wanted to do it! Thanks again brother!!😎👍
What about underheating? The code I got indicates the engine is not hot enough that the thermostat is getting stuck/partially stuck. I figured i replace the thermostat bc its probably getting stuck at times randomly
I replaced a water outlet 2 days ago because it was leaking coolant, but now I’m nervous that my engine feels too hot after I’ve been driving it. Should I check the thermostat and replace that? Or am I being too skeptic because engines are suppose to feel hot/warm?
Just drive the car around town and make sure when the car is hot look at the coolant fans, they should come on AND go off, it they do and don't stay on then you should be fine.
Im replacing my thermostat but in my Mazda there is a metal hose right in the way. I’m not sure what that hose is for but it’s making this job 10x more difficult
It is so difficult to touch this area with my hand without bumping the intake manifold plastic. How do you even manage to get clamps and sockets down there
Just like I said in the video, take off hoses first then use the extension maybe with a mirror to see the bolts. There is 3 8mm bolts then it comes out. It’s tight but very doable.

Yes, thermostat is probably bad , most fail open so not to overheat engine.

Probably a coolant bypass, got to remove it if there’s no other way.

p0126 code on 2011 mazda cx7 car is not over heating drives fine just throwing the code. Any idea ?
I'd replace the thermostat first, if still throwing code then the coolant temperature sensor. Both very common.
Not sure what’s up with this, my 2012 Mazda 3 2.0 thermostat is on drivers side and this is not compatible.

How do you not soak your alternator with coolant?
You can put plastic underneath the thermostat housing before takings the hoses off, and disconnect the negative battery terminal before you start.
