Thanks for giving such a detailed explanation on your decision and I appreciate what you said. I will think about the guest experience as I have several cars in my fleet in the 130ks and 140s. My daily driver is a 2008 Toyota with 245k on it so I am biased thinking they can last forever. I have been blessed so far not to have any engine or transmission failures in my fleet despite a plethora of older vehicles with significant mileage. I might have to learn the hard way, lol.
Thank you for sharing your knowledge and experience. My husband and I have always bought cash cars for personal use, never for business. Since renting on Turo while on a business trip with my daughter and then a family trip, I want to start in the business. I am looking forward to learning more about the ins and outs of hosting on Turo and on my own. Thanks again for sharing.
Good stuff man! I just rented a car using Turo for the first time, so I was interested in how the back end worked if I were to become a host. Appreciate your insight,
Stefan, thanks for sharing your experiences. Your videos help me to NOT try Turo coz clearly it requires a lot of dedication and business mindset to make it profitable. But I am still enjoying watching your journey. Keep it up with the good work!
I'm new to Turo hosting. I don't want to store the rental vehicle at my home. What would recommend regarding storage? I notice that some people store their vehicles at a particular location like a parking garage or lot where people can pick up and return the vehicle. What are your thoughts on parking/storage fees?
I would have definitely made an exception and kept that Toyota Camry a lot longer. But I do understand the feeling of going with your gut and getting rid of a car when you think it's time.
This is a million dollars question, until how many miles Turo allow to lease the your vehicle? second question with plan you recommended with insurance in Turo, (I'm new, I doing 75%-25%), with maximum 200 miles a day.
It makes sense the Camry did well, when I’m looking to rent a car I want reliability and don’t want to deal with problems and Toyotas and Hondas don’t have problems.
Thank you so much for this educaiton! I am 19, and I am looking to save money to start a fleet on turo of economy cars. I want to start small, and build up over time to develop a steady stream of passive income. Currently I am still in the saving money phase. What are some tips you would give me right now, and for the future? Much appreciated 🙏
How were you able to get into auctions. Thinking about going that route after financing my first two cars but I don't have a dealers license. Any recommendations you can give on how to get started would be great
I’m thinking about buying a Camaro ZL1 or newer Corvette and renting out on Turo to simply cover costs and getting to enjoy it on days it’s not rented. Are higher end sports cars a dumb choice to rent?
Is there a demand for Turo in a rural community? I am in northern California, there are some tourists going thru town mostly to visit the coast and the redwoods
I think reliable economy cars like hybrids and Honda civics, Honda fits, Toyota Corollas, camrys, etc. can do well. Fords depreciate like crazy so you can find a number of nice ones with less than 130k miles for a good price. Trick is finding models that are decently reliable and won't have huge repairs down the road. I am tempted by a 2014 Ford flex limited for less than $10k with only 93k miles I believe. It's clean. If you can find hoopties though around $7-8k that's the sweet spot.
Ford Flex are clean and hood value pretty well. Iam staying away from the turbo engines now thought, but all the cars you mentioned are great long term!
Are you buying salvaged auction cars & restoring them? Can you use salvage title vehicles on Turo? Wondering if this is ok to do if it’s minor repair like bumper repairs?
When people ask what cars are the best for turo they are asking for models but it all depends on where you are and what you are willing to work with like how you flipped the toyota for so much
I’ll make a video about it, but it’s basically a line of credit to buy cars but I do have to pay them back before I get the title. It just buys time. It works better for flipping cars but would work great with a line of credit from the bank.
Thanks bro 🙏🏼 to buy cars from a dealers auction you either need to have a dealers license, or have a dealer sign you up as a representative of the company. There are private auctions like at the tow yards and such, but all the ones I mention are dealer auctions.
I’m a certified collision technician but I also have a dealers license and a floor plan and I sell cars at my shop but I would love to know how you use your Floorplan to do Turo Are they still on the floor playing when you Register them and put them on Turo?
Not going to try to take credit but I left few comments on your videos years ago and recommended you to buy Honda & Toyotas. My first ever car on Turo is 2006 Honda Accord listed in 2016 and still going okay. I have very less car turnover. Luckily (or maybe unluckily) not many total loss. But also I limit my fleet to about 5. I envy your setup. I don’t buy from auction & don’t have a shop. 😅 I have to find someone to fix little things and they waste lot of time/income for me
Lol you definitely did. Still waiting to catch my first Accord but just bought a few Infiniti for the fleet. I realize I should flood the app because I have the perfect setup, so that’s what Iam planning to do going into 2023.
7:22 - Good for you on sticking to your guns, setting a goal/limit, and getting out with a profit. Doing this consistently will get you farther than "rolling the dice". I've JUST started doing research (read: Watching TH-cam) on getting into the car sharing biz. I'm in the ATL (otp), so I'll be hitting you up...when these car prices come down a little more ("blood in the streets")
This was such an insightful explanation. I'm looking into purchasing a few cars and renting on turo. Your video was so helpful. Thanks again bud. New subscriber here.
Brother, when you say 160 000, are talking miles or KM ?! I’m from CAD and we talk KM here and 160 miles and 160 KM is not the same 😅 let me know !! Appreciate your he value ! 🙏🏽🍾
Stefan goes to get a haircut. Barber: What is the best car for Turo? Stefan orders BBQ sandwich at BBQ sandwich shop. Sandwich man: What is the best car for Turo? Got more where those came from.
I didn’t think that cars with 100k or more miles would be good to get for Turo. But I haven’t started in Turo yet to find out. I’m targeting used cars, in amazing shape, with less than 70k miles on them.
So basically what he saying is buy a good car from an auction under market value. Rent it out make your money back and when the miles gets high sell it for a profit.
I wanna build a fleet of hybrids because they can be dogged and driven like you stole it and still last for hundreds of thousands of miles. My 2013 fusion hybrid I've owned for a while has been that car. I've beaten the shit out of it and everything is original on it, even the brake pads. 211k miles now. Just oil changes, tires, occasional coolant flushes and changing the engine air filter. No creaks or rattles. Still looks and drives like new. Only the tpms light on for low air in a tire lol. I've seen old Priuses in my market getting tons of turo bookings too where the car has already paid for itself. And hybrids hold their value even with high mileage because It's known how long they last
Stick with selling cars above 160k no matter it is Toyota or Honda. It is not worth your time and effort to deal with engine or transmission repairs. You can make more money by reinvesting the fund into new (used) cars to make more money. Yes, the market is weird right now but in the future, you won't be able to buy a car for $8000, put 50,000 miles on it and sell it for $10,000 two years later. Car is a depreciating asset (unlike real estate).
However : Some horror CONS include: 1.) Guest treat your car like trash 2.) they let random ppl drive it (no insurance will cover if they are not the renter) 3.) Personal insurance will not cover if the car is damaged lost or stolen 4.) Turo will not give you a rental car during repairs unless you gave turo 40% of your profits (60% plan) 5.) You forfeit the right to sue the guest if you agree to Turo terms of service. Think twice before using turo!!! They are a horrible platform, back to normal rental or just google a rental car place…
Hey Stefan. Im really impressed by your youtube videos about renting out your cars on Turo. Im wondering if you offer 1:1 online coaching on how to set up a business like this? Id love to learn more about this model. I just sent you a message on IG.
your videos are so helpful! Starting my Turo business and your videos have been the Bible
Thanks for giving such a detailed explanation on your decision and I appreciate what you said. I will think about the guest experience as I have several cars in my fleet in the 130ks and 140s. If the car pays for itself 300% it’s work an engine job imo….thanks for the comment and insight
I thought could not put older cars on Turo
You are knowledgeable in this car thing not only turo, I like grounded guys who knows how to grow wealth, you are one.
Much appreciated 🙏🏼
Thank you for sharing your knowledge and experience. My husband and I have always bought cash cars for personal use, never for business. I’m with you on good reliable cars.
Ain’t nothing better than Japanese reliability
I am not surprised your have the number of followers, your videos are top quality. Thank you.
Good stuff man! I just rented a car using Turo for the first time, so I was interested in how the back end worked if I were to become a host. Appreciate your insight,
How was your experience with the host?
Stefan, thanks for sharing your experiences. Your videos help me to NOT try Turo coz clearly it requires a lot of dedication and business mindset to make it profitable. But I am still enjoying watching your journey. Keep it up with the good work!
I see single moms run this business so it all depends on the individual. Iam a business minded person so I move accordingly.
Thank you for sharing your knowledge. I’m planning to start in 6 months. This helps a lot.
I'm new to Turo hosting. I don't want to store the rental vehicle at my home. What would recommend regarding storage? I notice that some people store their vehicles at a particular location like a parking garage or lot where people can pick up and return the vehicle. What are your thoughts on parking/storage fees?
Good question, I am very interested to know as well.
You have an advantage because it seems as if you have a dealers license . I sold cars for years and the average can’t find deals like that in vehicles
I would have definitely made an exception and kept that Toyota Camry a lot longer. But I do understand the feeling of going with your gut and getting rid of a car when you think it's time.
The customer was very happy with the purchase but maybe you’re right.
I'm so happy you hit 200,000
Thank you!!!
This is a million dollars question, until how many miles Turo allow to lease the your vehicle? second question with plan you recommended with insurance in Turo, (I'm new, I doing 75%-25%), with maximum 200 miles a day.
Great channel! Thank you for sharing. Where do you sell the vehicles when you are ready
Thank you!!! Mostly on FB market, but I’ve sold to guest in Turo also.
It makes sense the Camry did well, when I’m looking to rent a car I want reliability and don’t want to deal with problems and Toyotas and Hondas don’t have problems.
Thank you for this video! 😊 How do you track your expenses for “each” car? Do you use a spreadsheet?
Happy 30k 🎉
Much appreciated 🙏🏼
@STEFAN MY GUY YOU THE TRUTH FOR REAL!!!!!
Thanks for sharing. I will get in the game on your knowledge.
Very helpful info! Congrats on the success! Well deserved.

What state are you in? I would try to get with a local broker or small dealer operation…they can work with you to get a car from the auction.
I’m thinking about buying a Camaro ZL1 or newer Corvette and renting out on Turo to simply cover costs and getting to enjoy it on days it’s not rented. Are higher end sports cars a dumb choice to rent?
Hi, how about G80, like 2017? Is it good for this business?
Congrats on 20,000 subs!! That's a great accomplishment!! Keep up the great work!!
I really appreciate it 🙏🏼
Is there a demand for Turo in a rural community? I am in northern California, there are some tourists going thru town mostly to visit the coast and the redwoods
My research points to cars I can get at great price and they rent for above $100 day. It was a surprise to me when I researched it.
Congratulations on 20K Subscribers. You deserve it my Brother. 50K up next 🚀
I appreciate it family 🙏🏼

Do you use personal commercial insurance for your fleet? Also, whats your thoughts on trackers that track GPS and the treatment of the cars.
I have commercial insurance for my fleet and I GPS All of my cars with a hardwire kill switch.
Are you buying salvaged auction cars & restoring them? Can you use salvage title vehicles on Turo? Wondering if this is ok to do if it’s minor repair like bumper repairs?
No salvage or branded titles but bodywork on clean titles is ok
When people ask what cars are the best for turo they are asking for models but it all depends on where you are and what you are willing to work with like how you flipped the toyota for so much
Hey brother great vid! Have been thinking of becoming a host on Turo! Any tips for first time hosts? Thank you my man greatly appreciate all the tips!
Love your content you be giving game!
Thanks fam 🙏🏼
Thanks Bro for the good content! Good video!
Super helpful! thank you. What do you think of Hybrids? like the Toyota Prius?
Good rentals for sure
Could you get in more details about the floor plan money. Never heard of that term.
I’ll make a video about it, but it’s basically a line of credit to buy cars but I do have to pay them back before I get the title. It just buys time. It works better for flipping cars but would work great with a line of credit from the bank.
I didn’t think you could rent out cars older than 2014 for some reason… what’s the oldest a car can be to host on Turo?
Kudos Stephan🎉 here's to 20K more subs🎃

My question is can you LIST A REBUILD VEHICLE TITLE? Salvage title?
Not allowed on Turo

What part of the A are you in? I'm up in Suwanee...
What do you think about Crvs for New England ?
Great vehicle for any location imo. Would help to have 4x4 for that terrain though
Great video thanks
🙏🏼
The best mic for videos would be a dji wireless mic
Picked up the rhode go 2
This was such an insightful explanation. I'm looking into purchasing a few cars and renting on turo. Your video was so helpful. Thanks again bud. New subscriber here.
Well done video.
I have a 2014 Sub Outback with 136,000 can I put this on Turo?
Gotta be under 130k miles when listing
so where is that "cars i'd never buy" video? hypee
Congrats bro
Brother, when you say 160 000, are talking miles or KM ?! I’m from CAD and we talk KM here and 160 miles and 160 KM is not the same 😅 let me know !! Appreciate your he value ! 🙏🏽🍾
160 k miles correct
Brother what’s the best infinity s to buy?
Iam buying anything with no CVT transmission and no Turbo. The Q50 2014 & 2015 3.7 are great 👍🏼
Stefan goes to get a haircut.

Cant list cars with more than 130,000 miles

The car that depreciates the least is always the cheapest.
Can you give an example?
Hondas and Toyotas depreciate the lease, but they hold their value and are not usually cheap.
Where u purchase this car for 7k ? at auctions ?
Manheim auction…. Ended an engine…engine was $800 car was 4k
@@StefanMarquardt so turo accept auctions cars ?? Thanks for replying
As long as the title isn’t branded
@@StefanMarquardt u mean like clean title ?
clean title without odometer discrepancy
how does your insurance stay cheap with all these claims
All claims filled under Turo protection plan not with my commercial policy
However : Some horror CONS include:

You got it for wholesale
Dealer auction during pandemic when prices were low low. We might be heading back to those prices sometime this year.
Smart to sell that car when you did. You have to a hard line to stand on otherwise you're just chasing money.
Facts 🎯
Lol that crazy 10,000 after 2 years 🤣
I know, I kinda wish I would’ve kept the Camry
“Buy when there’s blood in the streets, even if it’s your own.” - Baron Rothschild.
That’s the family that invested modern central banking.
Even when it’s your own!! Wow!
The more miles the more your chances of a major repair.
Blood in the streets it’s time to eat . Have you been watching Chris Sain ?
Nah, just checked him out tho and subscribed
Floor plan is stupid idea
In general or for rental business?
Dude, You won't have a problem with a Toyota transmission or motor until well after 300,000 miles if serviced. Don't sell your Toyotas at 160k miles.
For sure, still made out good but noted
