@Investigative Audit I agree with what you said in terms of her decisions, however as an Atheist myself I can tell you that 97% of “non-believers” wouldn’t pretend to be a believer even if it meant getting a particular position. She clearly stated several times that she herself as well as her family are “people of faith”. In fact the only time I’ve ever known anyone who was an actual Atheist to lie was when I was in basic training and two troops didn’t want to have to stay with me and be punished by being forced to clean the barracks while everyone else got to go and fall asleep in the church pews. So they pretended they were believers and went to church. In my opinion they weren’t real Atheists and just tried to tell me they were so I wouldn’t feel alone, which I couldn’t have cared less about because I know there aren’t many Atheists in our country. However many of the ones I know today I met while serving in the military! Including a couple I met while “playing the sandbox” on a couple different trips there. I used to believe the myth “there are no Atheists in foxholes” until I found out just how untrue that statement is, apparently no one told Jesse Ventura (a Navy Seal, and Atheist as well as a pro wrestler lol) or my personal hero Pat Tillman! I like him joined because of 9/11 and since I was born and raised in Boston I knew people who lost loved ones in those attacks including my high school principle.
