If there wasn’t tons of “low-skilled” (bullshit) workers out there serving our food and cleaning everything that we take advantage of, well, I’m sure everyone would feel a bit more disgusted with how dirty the world is. @@ybunnygurl i have a cheap electric keyboard but its **really cheep** so I can't properly practice articulation or dynamics or sustain pedal timing. it also doesn't have weighted keys so it doesn't feel right to play.
I basically just have it for making musical ideas.
I’ve really been missing music, priced out digital pianos with properly weighted keys (Im intermediate level and didn’t want to mess out my key feel)....Then I went out and bought a guitar because it’s cheaper to learn guitar than deal with digital keyboards right now.

I've been through the 'when the conductor asks you to play alone' experience...
I was at a music camp for school and we had an orchestra with a professional conductor and we were rehearsing, then he asked the 2nds to play alone ( i was in 2nd violin) because it was a tricky part. When he realised i played it right he asked me to play alone.

Fun fact: the etymology of the word "quarantine" is italian and the word literally means "40 days" (the italian word for 40 is "quaranta" and the italian word for quarantine is "quarantena").
More fun fact: it can be related to the 40 days needed of rest for women after birth. This is based on the time needed for the wound left in the uterus after the placenta comes off to heal: 40 days (that's why maternity leaves always covers at least 45 days after birth)

@@8LyJu8 Well, the first use in the modern sense of the word (long period of isolation imposed to limit the spread of an epidemic) can be traced back to 14th century Venice: if a ship came from a plague-stricken place venetians kept it waiting off the port for 40 days to assure that no latent cases were aboard.
I didn't know about etymological links with post-partum recovery and I can't find evidence of that, but I think the word having more ancient roots (probably in latin) could be plausible.

I ended up on 7 days of home quarantine. I came out well rested, able to play two of my challenge practice songs, and three new practice songs. Oh, and I stole my roommates guitar and learned to play it. It was relaxing.

The chorus at my high school did a virtual choir. We recorded our parts and sent it in. Our teacher put it together. It was okay. We definitely sound better together than individuals on a recording.
