I’m subscribing because you’re the first commentator I’ve heard who realizes the fever window is now through 2 years maybe because the rookies start getting expensive after that and they won’t be able to keep everyone.
Lin Dunn said she always planning on leaving around this time after the completion of her plan. She is getting older so I dont think Kelly forced her out at all.
They just hired Stephanie White. Bad timing for your video lol Came out less than an hour ago 🎉🎉🎉❤ Also, iirc the sun lost JJ to NY before they picked up SW. So, without her, the fact Whites winning record was better than Curt’s is even more impressive.
Miller.gut them to final over tough Chicago team that had CP and he lost his Pg Thomas during the season. So think it is a wash. People just like white better as Miller is too whinny IMO
@@back2sports I think Miller is a better developmental coach than White, but I think White is better at the Xs & Os & in game coaching. And you can hire assistant coaches to help improve the player development aspect of the team. So for me that game strategy & ability to make smart decisions during the game are more important in a HC.
The only teams that I can understand firing their coach is Atlanta and Dallas. Miller hasn't had a healthy team in the last two seasons and Sides being fired is wild but at least they let her finish the season out.
They waited the right amount of time. Last year was her first year and u arent firing her in the middle of this season. That just makes it harder on the girls. Firing her this offseason and correct moves.
Every WNBA team swears theyre only 1 coach away from a championship. Indy's problems weren't exclusively coaching or the gm not doing her job it was them being young, inexperienced, and the personal on the team doesn't play defense. Overtime they were going to improve it seems theyre trying to rush the process. Best of luck to them hopefully they're successful.
are you saying that their poor defense, which is very much true, wasn't a coaching problem? Poor Sides prepped and prepped but the players just refused to follow the plan...? You are right in that they are a young developing team and they probably ended up further ahead than the original schedule but then you adapt, up and including changing personnel if necessary.
@ChrisSavenSH You can say that sides contributed to the problem but when 3 out of 5 of your starters are the worst defenders at their positions it's EXTREMELY difficult to be average defensively. White and Curt are only considered a good defensive coaches because of the personal on their team, it's easier for the defensive vision to be realized
@@ChrisSavenSHdoesn't play defense?!? Then who calls for that?!? It's coaching job.. coach your players how to play defense.. sides never do that since the start of the season from their very first presscon.. I can feel sides is not the right coach for Caitlin Clark..
@frosareal3368 that's 100% my point....🤷🏼♂️ If you take the time to scroll up a bit you'll find what I was responding to, which to me read like a claim that the poor defense was a player issue
@@frosareal3368 And Sides a supposed defensive coach has had all the other players on this team for 2 years & hasn't improved their defense either. And one of the biggest things people point out is that players seem confused & not communicating well on defense. That sounds like an issue with the coaching to me.
Krauskopf is the basketball person in the front office. She mentioned during her introductory press conference that she was a Donnie Walsh protege. Walsh spent a good bit of his time being the GM of the Pacers. He put that Reggie Miller led Pacer team together.
I disagree... with krauskopf at least. when she was the gm she led the fever to 8 straight playoff appearances and a championship. she then became the pacers assistant manager, definitely involved in basketball oriented operations. and even better is she's proven to have what it takes to lead a team to a championship in the wnba. fired winters even after what could be categorized as successful seasons and hired dunn who led the fever to their 1st and only championship. took a chance with a player who got an ACL injury in college, ended up being tamika catchings. amber cox was involved in building all those successful phoenix teams as well.
I think people tend to forget the track record of teams with perfect chemistry but comprised of relatively unknowns vs. ones filled with individual superstars thrown together for the sole purpose of an “instant championship.” (I don’t actually know exactly what that track record is, so don’t ask me 😂)
As far as the Fever's go it came straight from the top IE the owners of the Pacers/Fever as to shake it up as any business they saw they needed a change in the Fever Org.
I don’t understand most WNBA teams at the end of the season they seem to fire most of the head coaches. Roughly half of those firings are unjustified in the case of the Fever they needed better supporting players who are willing and can play D. I’m a huge UCONN but if I’m running the Fever I’m not signing Katie Samuelson as she has been an underwhelming player in the WNBA.
Cox is actually more of the COO than GM. From interviews Dunn did before the GM change was made, it sounds like Krauskopf wants to be very involved in acquiring talent. So I think Cox was named the GM to give them a nice way to clean house & move on from Dunn & Sides. Now the question is whether Krauskopf will continue to be actively involved in player acquisition long term or will they eventually announce Cox as COO & hire a new GM. Krauskopf could decide it is better to invest in some good scouts vs transferring Cox to COO & filling the GM position. They also need to invest in some player development since I do not think that is White's strong suit.
I think the problem with the Fever is that they're making too many decisions with the idea that Caitlin Clark is women's basketball Jesus. So them not winning the WNBA championship this year, despite having Caitlin Clark is seen as OH MY GOD WE HAVE TO CHANGE THINGS RIGHT NOW. WE SHOULD HAVE WON BECAUSE WE HAVE THE BEST BASKETBALL PLAYER TO EVER LIVE. WE NEED A NEW COACH, A NEW GM, NEW PLAYERS, NEW EVERYTHING. WE WERE SUPPOSED TO WIN BECAUSE WE HAVE CAITLIN!!!! lol So basically, making the massive progress they did this year from last year isn't enough, because Caitlin Clark seems to be valued as an instant championship winner. So now they're changing whatever they can to make sure the conditions are perfect for her. I think they should have just stayed the course. The progress they made this year is nearly unheard of. No telling what they would have been next year....now that young team has to learn a whole new system that may or may not work. It's like they're basically restarting from square one. It's almost unfair to expect them to be good next year.
The problem with your argument is that why wouldn't you go ahead now, rip off the band-aid & have the all of those growing pains? You know it is going to happen. Why would you wait to make those changes? It just puts off the inevitable expectations that everyone has for CC & the Fever. So why not go ahead now get a better coach, mgmt., free agents, so you can work out all those kinks this coming year? It just better prepares the Fever for all the craziness that will come from new teams, new CBA, etc.
@@amyk6319 I think the biggest problem with ripping the bandaid off is time. Their best players (aside from clark) are all free agents after the next 2 seasons. Clark is a free agent the following year. There may be a few expansion drafts within the next 3 years too. Basically, its kind of a bad time for team like the Fever to just start all over again after building a team of high first round picks. What if they're bad next season? This season you knew for a fact that they were getting better. To lean into the bandaid analogy, its like you have a wound, you put a bandaid on it, its healing super fast...then you rip it off and possibly rip some of the healed skin off just to use another bandaid brand.
Not a big deal replacing the president of a sports team??? You all just don't get it. Replace the president first, so you can then replace the GM, and then finally replace the head coach. it's simple dominoes economics. You kids don't remember Soiutheast Asia and Vietnam, communism, etc.
I told you the Fever were going to name White head coach. you should have waited until the announcement (of the new coach) before making this video, as it is it's premature, outdated, irrelevant. also irrelevant is who you think would make a better coach (two men; interesting). only thing that matters to the Fever is who Clark wanted as coach. she must've wanted White. end of story.
Not really, as I said in video Seems very likely they would go with White. Thank goodness they went amber Cox as she was mentored by a great GM / President - Greg Bibb

If they sign Satou Sabally they’re right there in the mix of teams that can win a championship.
