I wanted to give a practical use for point color. I volunteer at an historical society. One of the things I do is digitize slides and negatives for clients. As you probably know, slides have a tendency to shift colors over the years. With point color, I can precisely select the "off" color and remove it with one slider. It has been a game changer for me.
What a wonderful thing to hear, Paul! I will be sharing this with the developer of the Point Color tool so that he can see how helpful it has been for you.
Wow! That's somehow the tool I've always needed. The previous color mixer always felt kinda off and often had to use the masking tool to finish the job.
That’s some very high praise! Thank you’ Although, I love my brother, Blake, and can confidently say that the dude is a master when it comes to color editing.
Wow! I played a little with this tool when I first saw it but found it hard to use. (Just need more practice and some trial and error). But this video was the best one that I have seen so far and is a GREAT kickstart. Thanks!
I love to hear it! And I do agree, the Point Color tool can be a lot to throw at someone. That's why I really wanted to spend a lot of time on those range tools. Glad you found it helpful!
Wow! This is huge. Although I've been snapping away for 50 years on a selection of 35mm cameras, I have only used lightroom for a year. Seems to me that there have been massive changes in that time. At 66yo lots of it used to fly over my head but you explain it so well that makes it easy for me to understand. Looking forward to using Lightroomeverywhere. Thanks Brian.
Great video! I've been looking for a comprehensive course on Lightroom! However, when I tried to enroll on your website, the link is not active. I'm assuming you're updating the course with these latest tools. I would like your opinion on a photo managing question. I take multiple images (of the same subject, i.e, architectural symmetry, etc.) and group them into stacks in LR as part of my workflow. Do you recommend deleting the extra images once you've "developed" the best image of the group?
Thank you for bringing up that website issue! I just fixed it and everything should be working properly. I do hope you consider enrolling as the course is filled with TONS of great info. As for your question, absolutely. I'm a big advocate for "photo hygiene." If you took 10 photos of basically the same thing, I see no reason whatsoever to keep all of them. I'd select the best one or two photos from the group and wipe the rest of them. The same would go for an action sequence. Unless I absolutely need the entire sequence of photos, I'd isolate the most impactful moments and delete the rest.
Great tutorial on one of LR's most powerful tools. I have been waiting for this feature for 10+ years. Color adjustments always felt too global in the past.
Hi Brian, The dots inside my HSL Range Sliders are solid white (not hollow) and will not move. I'm sure the fix is simple, but I've been going crazy trying to find an answer. Is there anything you or any users can suggest to fix this?
Yeah, it's a heavy one. I was actually thinking of replacing the Point Color video in Lightroom Everywhere with this one because I feel like it better coveys the effect that the tool has on image color.

Thank you so much!
Thanks Brian for a very detailed explanation on this new, powerful tool.
My pleasure!
Great explanation, thank you.

Brian, Great explanation ! Thanks ..
Kudos--you have given the best explanation of anyone, including your friend Blake Rudis

Superbly explained thank you Brian .
Thank you, Graham!
Another very informative video. Great info and very helpful.
Thanks so much, Jeff! And thanks for being such an active Lightroom Everywhere participant!
Very detailed and concise. Thank you!
You're welcome!
Thank you for a great video on the point color. You answered several questions I been dealing with and more.
You’re most welcome, Kathy!
Brian, a great explanation of the tool. Thanks. 😀

Going to have to watch this a few times to completely understand it

I didn’t get to that one yet in the course. Watched a couple of others on you tube. This one makes the most sense and is very well done.
Adobe…if you’re listening don’t remove HSL. Point Color is great for ultra-precise color control but HSL still has its place.
Was this wooden shoe Tulipfest?
This is freaking Awesome!! Very well explained Brian. Thank you!
Thank you, Billy!
