Thanks so much!
Mother's Aluminium polish works on EVERYTHING - silver, aluminum, glass, golf clubs. It's so good, it can even polish your reputation!!!
So true, I love the product and has worked great on everything I’ve used it on.
Yes, it worked well for us too!
Keep on keepin on. Great way to teach. Folks just don't get it sometimes. I for one relax hoping you'll profit bigly from these ventures.
Thank you! We wouldn't mind if that happened, haha 🤑
It will be fun to see you guys get to enjoy camping with you renovated camper
Yes, we're looking forward to getting out there! Thanks for watching!
👀 always great to see the restoration of an old gal....
Thank you 😊
Yay!!!! So excited y’all are back!! Love seeing y’all bringing this beauty back to life. I’d be ok with longer videos 😉😆
Thanks so much! We'll need back with new videos soon.
You two work so well together! Great job! 😘
Thanks so much!
one of the best renovation van camping car, great job still a big pleasure to follow your adventures.
Thanks for such a nice comment!
Really enjoying your videos (and humour). 8:09 what makes these long boring jobs go faster is an audio book and ear pods. The aluminum looks great.
Oh my gosh, love audio books! One of the hardest parts of working and touring is that we can't even play music while we work.
Great fun ahead!!! Thanks for the update!
Yes, thanks for watching!
I love seeing your kids help in the restoration process.❤
They're good kids 💕
I did miss you, glad your back
Thank you ❤️
My Dad and his buddy painted our 1968 Rambler outside - its an ivory color. So excited to see you guys back working on this beauty. Love your humor and great work ethic.❤
This ol gal will be a big job but it'll be worth it in the end! Thanks for watching!
It is amazing what the new HD antennas can pick up. PBS. This old house, or the joy of painting.
Yes! Truly the best shows ❤️
Watching you two work on removing that front awning and front window and replacing it was especially satisfying. So thrilled you found a perfect replacement. I can imagine that having to live with that solid piece of plexiglass would’ve been an eyesore. Keep up the great job.👍
Thank you. We were totally ok with the idea of the plexiglass at first but now, seeing how good the new window looks, we're so happy we swapped it out! Thanks for watching!
You dit a perfect job on the aluminium and the new window
and the paint work looking smoot
Keep up the good work
Have FUN and be SAFE
Thank you!
I would totally watch a 2 hour video. I'm here for it. Everything is coming along pretty smooth can't wait to see the next phase.
That's nice of you, thanks for watching!
Good to see you guys! You have been missed! Away we go with another project. Looking forward to seeing the adventure unfold!
Thank you!
I smile every time!!!
We're so glad 😊😊
Finally a new video, I love watching your channel
Thank you for watching! We're trying to get a new video out soon!
You guys are always so much fun! I can't wait to see what you guys do to the Rambler. All the best! Lisa from Winnipeg ❤
Thanks! Check out the new video, lots of progress!
You guys are so fun! Inspiring me to take on a project.
Thank you and good luck! 🥳🥳
You guys aren’t afraid of hard work, you are fun to watch and do a great job, love that the kids get involved too, happy camping (in Harvey, this one might take a while yet)😅
Yeah... This ol gal is going to be a big project. Hoping things start to come together soon!
I would definitely watch a 2 hr video
That's very kind of you, thank you 😊😊
You two are going to have a real nice camper when commpleted, my money is on this pair.
Thanks! 🙌🏻 🙌🏻
Great video, i would watch you everyday.
Missed you all, I was starting to get the shakes as I hadn't had my retro revival fix, now my cup is full 😅
You are too kind. It's very encouraging to us to read comments like that. It's a lot of hard work so we really appreciate it 😊😊
Loving it guys. Take care. CB
Thank you! 🥳
That's going to be nice when finished!
Thanks! We're excited 🥳
Доброго времени суток. Отличная работа. Жду продолжения.
Hello 👋🏻 Thank you!
When we painted the old summer house trailer, we got an additive at Sherwin Williams to put in the paint that really made it adhere better. Looked great just rolling it on.
We've heard of that additive, glad it worked out! Hopefully the paint has held up for you 👍🏻👍🏻
You two are so much fun! I have loved Harvey and am so excited for this Rambler!
Awww, thanks so much!
Looks great! 😊
Thanks! 🥳
Awesome love the rambler. Love your uploads! 🎉
Thanks so much 🥳
Seriously love watching you guys, so much fun and laughter!!
Thank you!
Toothpaste cleans well. Lookin good.
Great idea, thank you!
So excited for this reno! We also did away with propane in our 1969 FAN Styleliner. We have a small propane cooktop we can use outside if needed but use our blackstone 99% of the time. I can’t wait to see this come together and what the cost at the end is. We had a budget but in all honesty landed about $10k. I know you had a similar experience with Harvey.
Yes, we're thinking (and really hoping), we won't come near that with this one but,as you know, it's easy to get wrapped up in the project and budgeting goes right out the window! Thanks so much for watching!
The blue scotch Brite pads for dishes works good
Thank you! Good suggestion!
Holiday Ramblers have some pretty good features. The larger models did not have wood framing. The framing was all aluminium. The skin was an early type of Sip panel and some had aluminum propane tanks that are desirable because of the ability to take a high polish and shine like chrome. Some had built in anti - sway that was accomplished through the breaking system if memory serves me . Ha I was really hoping to see a furnace in your spare parts stash. Ours gave out last year and the search is on.
That's so interesting! No, no furnace unfortunately. Thanks for watching.
Glad to see your PPE safety first
Baby steps 😆
My Mom & Dad had a Holiday Rambler in the mid-late 60's. It was a great trailer. I have many fond memories of camping in the Adirondack Mountains and up & down the East coast. I recall thinking the kitchen drawer were a bit flimsy, but certainly light weight. Most of the interior was 1/4" (maybe 3/16) ply; looked good but not that durable.
I'd go with all LED lights ($25 on amazon should cover the marker lights, maybe another 25-35 for the tail and license plate lights) and a traditional paint scheme, but that may be a bit of nostalgia talking.
What great memories! Thanks for sharing! We're hoping our kids will have good memories of camping with us and this crazy TH-cam endeavor too. Hope you watch our new videos to see the progress on this ol camper. ❤️
Fun times 😂 missed seeing your son. Summertime is busy enjoy every minute. Next time maybe an electric toothbrush from dollar tree. 😂
Electric toothbrush is a genius idea! Jack will be back in more videos soon! Thanks so much for watching!
I want hubcaps! And I'm close by! I have a 71 and all of that paperwork and owners manual! Also my trailer came from Andersons in Flint! WOW! Cool find! The porch light is worth a pretty penny!
Sorry, we're behind on comments! Can you email us and we can talk about hubcaps? We only have 2 though! retrorevivals76@gmail.com
Nevr-Dull has worked well for me on Aluminum.
Thank you for the suggestion!
i ve been doing W-40 and triple zero steel wool on my Jalousie windows on my Scotty camper, it works really good too👍. ive been masking the glass with painters tape to protect it. looking good guys
Yes! We've tried wd-40 in the past, great idea. Good luck on your project!
16:04 😂 Love the music change.
Gotta mix things up every now and then 😂 🎵
Please don’t hesitate to post extra-long videos! Like the Sleeperdude family, your family is very good company! 🚐 🍁
Awww, thank you!
You should post one video per week
We would love to!!! Maybe someday. It takes several full days to do the work then another few days to edit and publish... With full-time jobs and 4 kids, we're getting them out as quickly as possible. We appreciate you watching!
Hi guys! Love your videos, what you do! And amazes me that you do this after going to work, after going to parties! You guys rock! Christi I saw in Lowe’s a pice of trim that looks like the one you took out from the back window, it was here in Vegas, but maybe you could find it there in the regular store as well. It was in the section where they have the white panels planks, like for cabinets maybe. Keep up the good work!
It is hard sometimes, but, seriously, the comments from all of you encourage us and push us to get back out there to work even when we're exhausted! Thanks for the tip on the trim from Lowe's. I think we found some online but it would be nice if we didn't have to order it.
Opps….forgot to say how great the front window looks! Well done you! ❤️🇨🇦
Thank you 😊
Glad to see the frenchys cocktail challenge shirt and the michigan senior Olympics pub crawl shirt.
We have great memories of both 🥳
Love you guys!!!!! We've been looking at vintage HR's so watching you work on yours is great. Love that the window project went so smoothly for you! Quit your jobs, buy project vintage trailers, and start renovating and selling them. There's a big market of buyers out there! Stay happy and well.
We would love to do that one day! For now, we still need to grind at our 9 to 5s. Thanks for the vote of confidence!
Baking soda blasting to remove paint is much gentler on the metal than sand or glass bead blasting. Even better is it dissolves in water so do it outdoors, rinse off what you've blasted and there's no grit left to blow out while painting. Any that's on the ground goes away with the rain. It would be perfect to clean the quilted aluminum panels down to bare metal.
That's a great suggestion! We took an easier route and painted over it but we appreciate you taking the time to comment!
Thanks!
That is so incredible generous! Thank you so much!!!
Hi guys! Great video as usual 😊 I just have one small (big) concern. Your fabricated patch trim on the back bottom that you sealed with the caulking gun I would worry water could still infiltrate. If you look at the very bottom, there is a little lip that holds it away from siting flush against the trailer…. Maybe pull it off and put butyl. The old trim that butts against it has butyl. I have done repairs on our old tent trailer and water is the enemy. Anyway….just my 2 cents!! Lol ❤️🇨🇦
Thank you! We just painted over it, doh! We're behind on comments! We put a good amount of proflex behind it but we'll seal the outside too. Thanks!
Another very good aluminum and metal polish is Flitz. You just rub it on and off.
We might have to try that... The tape from painting left a little residue so we'll probably need to polish again but didn't want to get the paint all dirty in the process.
are you planning to restore the door? Keep up with great work...gives me some ideas. I have '72 Vacationer
Yes, we're planning to keep the door... Not sure if we'll be able to reuse the screen but maybe a newfangled magnetic screen door would do the trick.
Good luck with your project!
Toothpaste is good for polishing also
Thank you for that suggestion!
I know how you can make the fender flares dirt cheap, just takes a lil manual labour I've done a few thousand of them
We just made some in the new video but I'm curious how you do it... We're behind on our comments!
If you are going to use any type of stripper, you need to use Peel Away!!!! It’s the best stuff!!!!
Thanks, we're not going to strip on this project but maybe another project soon. Thanks for the suggestion!
Wait. Stop. What?? Who says you can't do a 2 hour video?? There's no rule that says you can't make feature length videos on the Tube. Do you know what that does to the algorithm for viewer hours?? Feature films are totally worth making!! And some peeps are totally worth 2 hours of view time. Come on now, stop being silly!!
Thank the goodness you're finally back!! All this waiting has been a challenge for those that enjoy the antics of a Michigander fam. Can't wait to see what you're going to accomplish next!! Let's get after it and giterdone!!
Thank you! Life has been seriously hectic lately but we do enjoy making the videos so we're hoping we'll have more time now that Jack and Ella's sports seasons are over. We so very much appreciate you watching and always enjoy reading your comments and taking your cheese suggestions 😂. We'll be back soon!
17:05 i almost used my brittle ones for molds with fiberglass and resin.
That would have been a good idea!
See y’all in the next 10 days 😂
We're doing terrible with our 10 day plan. Thanks for sticking with us! We'll be back on a more regular basis soon!
it would have been cool if you made the motor home and camper match and pull the camper with the motor home. one could be the for the parents the other for the children.
That would have been pretty cool. We're nervous about pulling a trailer with Harvey the RV. It should be able to handle it but we just haven't tested it's capabilities much yet. Thanks for watching and commenting!
Should have put sealant between the window frame and the camper.
We used butyl tape. To your point, we should also seal the edges. Thanks for the suggestion!

I'm not here to criticize you, I am a carpenter of 45 years and I think you did well. keep up the good work an enjoy what you are doing!
PURPLE POWER will eat the paint off of aluminum. Just a suggestion. 😊
It will also.... just wear gloves and eye protection.
Yowzers, thanks for the suggestion and word of caution 😬😵💫😂
Where would we find a wheel hub and bearing assembly for a 1990 prowler lynx?
Oh gosh, sorry, we're not really sure 🙃
Rusty screws cause those lights not to ground...replace screws and they should work
Ahhh, too late, we ripped em off 🤦🏼♀️
What is a wire wheel? I need a way to get the white paint off my 86 g30 ambulance to expose the original blue under
It's a disc like thing with a bunch of wires that you can attach to a drill. I'm not sure of anything that will take off one later of paint without damaging the one underneath. Good luck with your project!
Coat of paint make it what it aint.
It's caulk and paint make it what it ain't. Funnier.
@lauralee5313 with hammer and nails we do our best, paint and caulk will hide the rest.
I never heard that one, I like it!
🤠🤠🤠🤘🤘🤘💋
Thank you 😁
Everyone who originally built your trailer are now on SSI.
These campers are oldies but goodies 😁
@@retrorevivals Yes they are.
My wife and I are older now so our idea of “camping” or “roughing it” is in an Airbnb or Holiday Inn 😁
I’m a subscriber and I marked to get all of your content but I’m not getting all of your videos. Hmmm
Dang, that's weird! Thanks for liking for us. Hopefully it starts notifying you. Did you click the little bell thing next to subscribe?
@@retrorevivals Yes I did.
I enjoy your videos
You are working hard, your face is blackened lol
This is serious work 🥴🥴
Stinkey slinkey😂
TH-cam asked if we wanted to translate that comment to English 😂
Only about a thousand screws holding the window in?
I've told you a million times to stop exaggerating!!!
Why can't you have q 2hr video?
Haha, there were at least a gazillion screws. We've been scared to go for longer videos... Maybe once our channel is more established, we can. Just don't want them boring for you guys!
