Cool thing about Bannon and the Genji glove, you can tell him no 3x, OR you can tell him no once, then talk to the returner soldier in the top room and he'll give it to you right away. Then you can tell Bannon yes and move the story along.
At the very end of the Floating Continent, you're given an option to wait or jump. WAIT or you'll lose a character permanently. I didn't really see any indication hinting that you need to wait leading me to jump during my very first playthrough. Early in Sabin's path when the party splits in three (after that river raft sequence), you come to a crazy old man's house. You can return there in the World of Ruin but don't bother until you recruit all characters. It adds some humorous dialogue and is a very touching scene for one of the game's gimmick characters. There's no in-game benefit. Its just flavor. I do miss game manuals too but moreso for the fun that usually was added whether its the clay figures in the Secret of Mana manual or Cranky Kong's complaining in DKC.
I still have PTSD from the SNES FF6 game. I had a player's guide and they specifically call out the scene at the Old Man's house in the World of Ruin and how you can get a really heartfelt scene. I did everything I could to make the scene happen, including cycling through each and every character combination, but it just wouldn't happen! It wasn't until they remastered them on the Switch that I could finally see the scene.
One thing that wasn't super obvious to me the first time I played was that an easier way to get lores is by using the control command (equip Relm with the fake mustache relic) to force them to use the technique on Strago. Another is if you want to grind spells quickly in the World of Balance, fly to the triangular island in the northeast, and you'll fight an enemy called Intangir. It's asleep and invisible, so weapons are useless, and if you wake it up, it'll annihilate you with powerful magic, BUT magic will always work against an invisible target, so cast a death spell on it and win instantly; I don't remember what kind of gold or experience you get, but it's 10 AP, which is high even at the end of the game. If you don't have the death spell, one of Gau's rages - it's one of the squirrels; I THINK it's Rhodox - has a skill called snare that'll do the trick. If you REALLY want to try your luck, Mog can use this while dancing Dusk Requiem, too.
before watching 1) Celes is the MC fight me! 2) Locke is the best character 3) Cyan has probably the best arc/story of any of the characters 4) the character backstories are hidden in the world. Explore! 5) don't over level you want the bonus from esper's.
@@candyhandsjf7288 his positive attitude and he is basically one of the most funny ones. You can also save a lot of money if you keep him in your party and steal as much as you can. Money is relevant since the start of the game and if you keep stealing potions and even gear sometimes you will always have a decent amount for whenever you get to a new town that sells better equipment. You can also use Locke to to aerial attacks with boomerangs which have more precision and don't miss. So yeah Locke will make you rich, he also knows how to lockpick and disguise himself to go on solo undercover missions. His story arc isn't that great but oh well.
I LOOOOOOOVE this game - it’s my FAVORITE game and the reason I play final fantasy hoping that they can reach that golden age of RPGs. I feel so connected with the queer existential parallels with Terra and Celes (isolation, being different, losing your will to fight back or fight, standing up for yourself, being a tool…) took me so many years to understand why this game is such a masterpiece. I could go on about this game but thank you for always making great content with great games that are the blueprints for game developers today - not that I personally feel like they can reach the level of Final Fantasy 4, 5,6,7,(8), 9 and 10. ❤️😅❤️ So grateful for this game!
I remember my dad discovered the Sketch Glitch by accident way back when. We didn’t know exactly how to do it so there was a lot of trial and error but at one point our items were just filled with gem boxes and economizers. Made the tower of fanatics and well basically the entire rest of the game a breeze. My dad also was an OG grinder and got ALL the characters to learn ALL the espers 100%. Kefka’s wannabe angel ass didn’t stand a chance.
I actually had the glitch work for me on the original hardware on my first playthrough. I had 50 some Ragnaroks and crazy amounts of everything. It scared me though and I erased the save later thinking it was bad for my game. I believe I saved over with a new save actually. Pretty stupid. But it's true!
Did you play two player with your dad? Me and my friends would play forever taking turns, never realizing until years later we could have played together the whole time.
@@Zman82 I don’t think I ever did 2 player, but I was aware of it. My dad, sister, and I all had our own save files and we’d just take turns playing and watching, depending on whatever else we had going on. My sister was reading Anne Rice novels at the time so she named everyone after vampires. Edgar was Lestat, Cyan was Armand, lol I can’t remember who else
Before finishing the world f Balance, or as soone as you can get to Jidoor in World of Ruin, hit the acution for a couple of espers. Another one can be bought in Tzen after the magitec facility raid for like 3k gil in the world of balance or 10 gil in the world of ruin, the one that sells it hides in the trees. The desert south of Miranda in the World of Ruin is home to Hoovers and cactrots, the latter give 10 MP for learning magic on death, they only have 3 hitpoints but are hard as all get out to hit, something to keep in mind if trying to learn magic but without the risk of leveling up with the wrong esper equipped.
Gem box+Econimizer=two spells costing 2 mp.. Genji glove+Offering=absolute slaughter house. U can get extra econimizers from a rare drop by brachiosaur. And if you're javing trouble beating them just use the ulitmate ff6 cheesing technique Vanish + doom.. 😉😉
I agree with the magic being the most powerful with one exclusion. Genii Glove x Master’s Scroll ( Offering for Super Nintendo ) Atma Weapon/Light Bringer ( Excalibur SNES ). You could give it to someone who has a normal attack that hits different characters per turn but that is the most damaging. I have it on Edgar and routinely hit 9999 x 4 and high 3000’s to 4000’s with a possibility to cast Pearl.
I'm a 37 year old old man. This was my game when I was like 10/11. My mom bought me rpgs cause it had tons of reading in them. This is the best character set up in any rpg. Sabin is my ultimate fav and he can suplex a trian. Cyans revenge arch. Shadows history. They need to remake this game! Oh! And chrono trigger please. Also kefka actually destroys everything
I agree that Magic stat is great, but not intended for some characters. Cyan for example is best with capped Strength as he is one of the only characters that can dish out 40k damage per turn with Tempest, which is a strength based attack. If you dont teach him any magic and cap his strength to 128, give him gauntlet, take him to the coliseum and watch him destroy his opponents.
If you are running low on items and cash, you can get a 50% discount in Figaro castle if Edgar is the lead character of your party. If Edgar is in your party the vendors do make a comment along the lines of "I can't take money from the king..." but you won't get the discount unless Edgar is in the lead slot.
Big tip: Just before meeting for the first (and getting a Star War reference thrown at you), go straight down from the stairs that leads to her. There's a secret path leading to a chest containing a ribbon, which protect you from most debufs.
Star ocean the second story r is a freaking good remake, Square Enix should do the same kind of work with FF6. Use a new graphic engine such as the unreal engine or unity to have this new HD-2D look or something similar ! 🎉❤
basically you would like the same game only in better grafics. why. i would rather have a reimagining like what we are getting with ff7 remake and rebirth.
Heck yeah! FF6! I hope you do more tip videos for classics like this! My personal tip is to not underestimate Mog or Gau! Yeah, their abilities may not seem as obviously powerful as someone like Edgar, but if you take time to learn the ins and outs of the Rages and Dances, they can bust out some powerful moves no other character has access to
Chrono Trigger and Final Fantasy VI have been done so dirty by Square. Both of these classics deserve proper remakes and not some mobile phone garbage remaster.
No one plays mobile games other than simple ones like Candy Crush. I don't understand why developers keep wasting their time with trash mobile games. Square really wasted their resources on this mobile ports.
I think whoever did the pixel remastered did a damn good job. I think the fans of CT and VI are so hard-core that a real remake will be dukied on regardless of how it is, because it's not the original.
At pax a few years back had sakaguchi San sign the cover of the u.s. strat guide. He laughed and pointed out how it was not named vi yet in the us on the past his eyes lit up a bit. I brought one for vii as well but specifically chose vi after hearing in an interview it was his favorite. Was a nice cute moment and I’m not a reseller that’s lame so I will always treasure it.
David and I are old enough to remember when it was “Final Fantasy III”! 😂 Oh man, I miss when cool videogame box sets were the norm from companies like Working Designs!
I don't know why, but hearing you refer to Mog as "Cutie Pie" made me smile. It baffles me that FFVI tends to be overlooked by Square-Enix, given its fan favorite status. This game needs the Star Ocean 2 style remake.
I had Terra and Celes with an economizer equipped to reduce the magic cost to 1MP. They all had the ultima spell and Gogo would mimic them for a free ultima. Kefka went down quick.
I only discovered the Esper level up bonuses in my most recent playthrough, four or so years ago, and it was a REVELATION. Such an important tip! Also, super jealous of your boxed copy.
The success rate of Steal is relative to the level of the stealer vs the level of who you're stealing from. Don't sleep on stealing. Example: If Locke's level is higher than the monster he's stealing from, he will have a higher probability of stealing successfully. Also take note, you can steal some AMAZING gear and weapons from bosses in the World of Light, the Magitech Research Facility being a highlight, here's a few examples: Number 128: Kazekiri(one of the best swords for Cyan(has a 50% chance of casting Wind Blades) and only one of two, the other being found in the Cave of Espers. Equip a Genji Glove and you can dual wield Kazekiri blades for Cyan) Number 024: Rune Blade or Blood Sword(go for this) In the Crane fight you can steal a Debilitator from the right crane
When trying to learn magic in the world of ruin, go the desert south of Miranda. For later leveling of characters in the world of ruin, go to the forest north of the veldt (The Dino Forest). Make sure you get all the ribbons in the game as they are extremely rare, but they are one of the best relics in the game. After you have both Relm and Strago in the world of ruin, return to solitary island where you started the world of ruin and go to the desert. There is an enemy in that desert that if you cast stop or slow on it and then have Relm use sketch or control, you can sometimes get it to use big guard. That big guard lore is super useful as it casts both safe and shell on everybody in your party all at once. This gives your party super high magic and physical defense at the same time. When given the choice between the Ragnarok sword or esper, always pick the sword. You can bet it at the coliseum for the Illumina sword. I believe the Illumina sword is the most powerful sword in the game. Equip Celes with the genji glove and offering for her relics and atma weapon and Illumina sword for her weapons and after like level 80 she will basically be a God in this game. She will be able to kill almost any enemy in the game in 1 fight command. If your party is set up properly, you can kill the final version of Kefka in 1 round if you Celes at level 99 with this setup. If you picked the sword and you still want the Ultima spell for some of your characters, just get the Paladin shield as the Paladin shield will teach you Ultima at a rate of 1%. To get the Paladin shield, have a character equip the cursed shield for 256 battles (this is where one of those ribbons would be nice to have). I would use Gau or Umaro for the 256 battles as they are useless characters come end game. You can steal magalixirs from the land rays on solitary Island (grab at least 5 before going into Kefka's tower). Use the thiefs glove to make this easier. On the SNES version, you can kill almost any enemy in the game with the vanish xzone glitch (cast vanish and then xzone on an enemy).
FF6 I got on the SNES for Christmas of ‘94. Christmas Day next year will mark 30 years since I played - and loved - that classic. Nothing like playing a game starting off in a wintry area on a cold, snowy New England holiday to feel plenty appropriate. ;)
I used to use the floating continent as my exp grind. The enemies give loads of exp and are really tough the first couple of times on it. Once I build up a team, I start switching out 2 or 3 of them so I they can level up and get some of the magic spells they'll need. That way, when I start the World of Ruin, I'm mostly ready to take on everything there.
Sick!!! Dude this is my favorite Final Fantasy of all time! Music, Story, Characters, are all fantastic. I just re-played and beaten the GBA version a few months ago. Great video here David! 👍
Magic is super good in FF6 like you say in the video one thing that can help a ton for learning spells is the Cactaur enemies in the world of ruin. They give a ton of magic points for learning spells super fast.
Thanks for this! I'll be trying this one for the first time (to completion) next year as my first game of the year. I'll be sure to refrence this again before I jump in
No actually, Cyan's main Swordtechs scale with Strength and if you get him enough Strength bonuses throughout the game, he'll deal more than double Sabin's Bum Rush damage and slightly outdamage Terra's X-Cast Ultimas. He's by far the best DPS in the game per-turn, especially if you play the remakes where he charges his Swordtech in the background. I also don't think Flash scales enough with Magic to make it worth it over Drill/Chainsaw's Strength. Edgar's base Magic and MP is pretty low, and unless you feel like farming Celestriads, I find him better with Strength in most playthroughs. Shadow's Shurikens also scale with Strength and are absurdly cheap to buy throughout the entire game. His naturally high Speed/Agility makes him a good Strength character. Locke also tends to scale better with Strength as there's not many better Atma/Ultima Weapon party members, and Capture/Mug will always be Strength based. But yes Sabin is much better with Magic because Razor Gale and Bum Rush are magic based.
You can grind your spells on the light world's triangle island. There's an invisible enemy that will die immediatly die with doom but it cast meteor on the caster. It can be evaded with enough agility or tanked (rarely)
That's SNES/PS1 only on the GBA/PIXEL version its immune to both IT and the Rhodox rage and without being able to use either you MUST be able to have Sabin use his FINAL blitz on it the only way to do so FOR the first half is to actually have HIM at lv 70 but since Bum/Phantom Rush CAN do 9999 PER use to its 32,000 HP its so worth it. The ONLY attack spells that are worth it are Flare Ultima and Meteor and for those 3 spells you need Terra lv 99 for Ultima and Celes lv 99 for Meteor IN the World of Balance in order to use those 2 spells on it.
I've played the game many times and found this out when I was a kid. It maybe enticing having nothing and on your first playthrough to grab items from item chests (and on the clock) but don't do it and resist. Many of these item chests will upgrade much much later on in the game. If you ever played Chrono Trigger in the end game content concerning getting items from one timeline to the next the same concept was used here first but without the timeline obviously. For example, when you wake up from bed as Terra and can take control of her there's an item in the clock which will be an Elixir which cures both HP and MP for a single party member, however, if you wait till much much later on in the game the item will upgrade to a Megalixir which does the same except cures all party members. Both items are pretty rare in the game. The items in these item chests (and clocks) I am only referring is the first area in the game, Narshe. Resist the urge to grab any of the item chests except I believe the item chest in the first house when you first arrive in Narshe on the left. Anyways, other locations is the South Figaro Cave. This is the second cave area you visit in the game and it's soon after riding the chocobo for the first time and last is the town of South Figaro, the second town you visit. On the latter, you will revisit this town soon after (Narshe as well) but resist the temptation grabbing any of the item chests and clocks. You will be allowed to revisit the town again much much later in the game as part of the storyline and the cave. Narshe, however, becomes an optional much much later in the game so don't forget about that town. Any other areas and towns in the game won't upgrade so feel free to get them when you can. There is also one single chest later on in the game that is not in any of the locations I've named above I believe that also upgrades but it's in a specific area and location that I don't want to spoil but this item is still obtainable by other means. It's been awhile so I cannot remember if I am correct on this but I do know it's a weapon. The tricky part about this item chest is that it's the only area that can be revisited much much later in the game while the rest of the zone becomes inaccessible. Saying anything more will become spoiler but I will say it's in a long corridor where espers were kept. This chest is also hidden at the bottom section. If you meet a character named Shadow and decide to allow him into your party limit the amount of fights and leveling you do with him or else.... Also, when you meet Shadow sleep at an Inn (I think at one where you pay gil not the freebies) if you receive something there are 6 in total. As you progress through the story try to get 4 by the time you visit a certain town. The 5th one is automatic and the final one can only be viewed through another character if you've connected the dots and may not play the game again look it up on youtube. Last, at a certain part in the game be patient and wait for Shadow so don't panic no matter what. 🙃
I remember finding that piece of crumpled paper in the Returners and being so pumped that I found something that was not mentioned in the official players guide back when FF3 was released.
After getting the Exp Egg you may wish to consider grinding for levels with one character in the party while equipping the esper that gives you the stats you want.
Oh that raft part. When I was a kid I had one of those SNES controllers where you can program and turn on auto for the A button. I put something on top of that button heavy enough to press it and left it on all night so they would just keep turning and fighting and attacking. I think bannon may have been set to heal. By morning my characters would be insanely over leveled. Good times. Probably my favorite game ever.
I did that on the PS1 version as well, using tape. Sadly, Locke wasn't leveled up along with everyone else since he had left the party. It made him almost useless for the rest of my playthrough.
I just beat Final Fantasy 6 for the first time ever earlier this year (for the GBA - of course not a modded 3DS... never.. lol) I never knew about about half of these tips and especially wish I knew about the Moogle Charm. I also played the game without using a guide, so I lost a certain character in my playthrough. (Not Mog. I'm not evil) I'm thinking about playing the Pixel Remaster version for another playthrough, because although I enjoyed the GBA version, I would like to see how other versions play. Plus, it was a fantastic game. Thanks for this video. I'll be using it for my next playthrough in the future!
After the floating continent, you get stuck with Cid on an island using Celeste. Apparently, there is a way to save him by feeding him only the best fish, but it's hard to do. Most times you only get the foul ones swimming, and the only way to respawn them in the water to avoid getting the foul ones is to leave the screen and then come back, which you lose points for not feeding him as well. There are no major rewards for saving him, but for a true completionist who is willing to endure the nightmare process, it's there. As for me, I think I can live just fine with just purposely killing him off LOL
omg such a gem. we need a proper remaster of this game, i was a little disappointed with the 1-6 remasters. we need HD-2D for 4, 5, and 6. Thanks again for the a great vid David!
When you go back to Narshe with Locke, in the world of ruin, you can find a cursed shield. Equip a ribbon to counter the debufs and win 256 battles to cleanse it, turning it into a paladin shield.
Flash! Easily my go-to with Edgar in the party. People would gush about Chainsaw but I could always count on my trusty Flash to attack all. Never knew that about the magic stat though... all the more reason to use it.
You only have to tell Banon "no" once. Then the other Returner will give you the Genji Glove. If you tell him no three times, you'll miss the briefing scene. And the Genji Glove isn't as great as it seems anyway because physical attacks are always outclassed by something better: magic, blitzes, tools, throwing shurikens, Bushido, etc. Locke is a good one to give it too, though, especially with Mug. Or possibly Setzer since his dice weapons ignore defense.
You only need to tell Banon no once and then go and talk to the guy in the back room, and he gives you a Genji Glove. The Hero Ring is even better than the Earrings. It doubles both magic output and attack output.
I think FF6 PR needed more time in the oven, It's the only PR which I just can't force myself to play through it due to the way the graphics change sizes between screens as well as other questionable visual changes. All the other PRs were really great out of the box (aside from changing the font).
I must have beat this game 30+ times and never knew about Bannon's Genji glove... also, I know Dave probably disagrees. But I 100% suggest getting the ragnaroc sword over the esper. Then you trade it for the illumina(best sword in the game) at the Colosseum. Then u gotta find the Cursed shield and equip it on someone matched with a ribbon this will negate the negative effects effects of the cursed shield. 255 battles later and it turns into the Paladins shield by far the best shield in the game. And you learn ULTIMA from it!!!!!! And yeah, Gogo's secret menu rocks!!!!!
If you want to play the game on "hard mode," finish the game with the only required characters: Edgar, Celes, and Setzer. Don't pick up Sabin or anyone else in the World of Ruin. This locks you out of most of the strongest gear and espers. This slightly changes the ending too. The challenge is fun. Fortunately, World of Ruin levels are keyed to Celes, so if you grind her in the World of Balance, most everyone else will be around her level. However, you won't be able to customize their stats using espers.
You should have Terra, Celes, Strago, and Relm boost magic each level, and they're the only ones really worth teaching magic to. Everyone else has something better they can do that doesn't consume MP. You should boost Sabin's magic too, since most of his Blitzes count as spell damage. Locke, Shadow, Cyan, and Edgar should all focus on strength. A few of Edgar's tools use spell damage, but his best tools go by strength and ignor defense, so strength is still best. And then speed when you get the esper that has that bonus. Setzer I'd start with magic for his slots, but after he gets his Fixed Dice, put him all in on speed.
Sabin is oddly a Magic Mage, but add some strength too for variety. Magic is op, and every character is OP in some way or another. Except Umaro and Cyan. Umaro is big, dumb marshmellow. Cyan’s sword techs need tons of time.
@@dickmonddickelheimer9452 I don't think Ragnarok ignores the penalty on offering (halves damage of each attack), but I know valiant knife does so you may be better off with valiant knife and atma/ultima weapon.
It doesn't that's why it won't start doing 9999 per hit at lvs below 80 same with the illumina/Lightbringer sword you get by BETTING the Ragnarok itself.
Gau can be made powerful, but he's also highly impractical. You'd think with all the quality of life improvements they make with each re-release they'd learn to list his Rages alphabetically and give a description of what each one does. And even then it can be a real pain in the ass to get the ones you want. This game has plenty of easier to use characters that can dispatch enemies just as well if you know how to use them right and boost their stats with the right gear and proper magicite bonuses.
I wish i had known about Gau not leveling up with the team when he is in the Veldt, because on my first playthrough I didnt get him back right away and ended up benching him because his levels were so far behind
I have to argue on one point. Magic is less important on Locke and Gau in the long run. There are certain combos you can set up with them that make magic look like child's play.
Pretty sure Stats stop being effective after hitting 128, so its reccommended to hit that on Magic first then you can focus on other stats, i tend to hit 128 Magic on Sabin then go for Strength and have him use a Genji Glove and the thing that lets him hit 4 times, but its 8 times because the Glove, dude WRECKS trash mobs this way :)
I foolishly exploited the Lethe River loop with my turbo controller before realizing all the stat buffs I was losing out on because I didn't have magicite yet. Then it became a game of limbo-leveling to see how low I could go until I got to to Zozo 🤣 Slightly off topic but I recently learned Yoshitaka Amano did art for a MtG card and now I need it..
About that even if all 3 + Banon are ALL at lv 99 the game is still TOO easy though for the GBA version the NORMAL Dragons Den enemies are IMHO more annoying to KILL then its bosses their.
I have a couple of versions of this game and it made a great first impression.. Yet for some reason I always overlook it.. Ah I'll still prolly pick up the pixel remaster and eventual remake
I really like the way esper stat increases work in the game. Even if you don't take advantage of it, a lot of damage calculations factor in character level, so you still technically get a bit stronger even if your stats don't go up (not to mention getting better equipment). But there's also no reason not to use it and get even stronger than that. Also, I normally don't pay much attention to equipment builds in games (just "high number go brrrrrr"), but in FFVI I'm constantly shuffling around espers (for magic learning and level ups) and even relics, making me engaged in a way I'm usually not. I also enjoy annihilating enemies with Sabin's AOE blitzes. I was a bit disappointed to hear that the pixel remaster changed the way they are set off (with an onscreen guide and failure prevention), since I weirdly liked the minor memorization and the controller not properly registering my inputs (they were powerful enough that I didn't mind the occasional flub).
The huge cast of characters need to level all of them is why I've never finished this game, despite starting it many times. I always bail when I get to those dungeons that require multiple parties 😅
Once upon a time, I would have every main character learn just about every spell (skipping Umaro and Gogo). I'd hang around Vector in the World of Balance before the Floating Continent and then again in a desert near the Fanatics Tower in the World of Ruin (higher Magic Point monsters). Granted Cyan's magic sucked, but he was always low in my list to use anyway.
In my humble opinion, the game is better if you treat Espers like single-use items. If Terra gets Stray, no other character can ever use Stray. This forces you to use abilities that might otherwise go unused, like Lore, Throw, and Rage, and makes the game more fun than it is with four maxed-stat characters throwing Quick and Ultima.
Please do me a huge favor and make more videos like this for star ocean 3 and the divine force. The one you did for the second story r and now this have helped tremendously
Low leveling the game until you can esper-bone the game makes it so much easier. Imagine being able to dog walk Atma Weapon as a 10-year old 😅 the magic stat is great until you can’t use it in the tower.
I tried to use the Pixel Remaster to run no experience until I got espers, but that leads to some very frustrating RNG-based encounters especially if you wait until the Floating Continent. Level factors into damage formulas too so leveling even without the right stat gain will improve damage somewhat.
I wouldn't worry about the levels you naturally gain before you get espers, I just wouldn't advise any straight-up grinding that early I'm the game. Last time I played, I still had my stats boosted higher than they'd ever need to be by around level 50.
@nrrork believe it or not I still pulled it off, but I had to retry the gauntlet of battles to get to the Floating Continent a bunch of times. It was simply a personal challenge. Now Cyan wipes any encounter with Stunner or whatever it was renamed lol
0:11 I miss the instruction manuals too, there's something about reading them before playing a game
What a thirst trap putting yourself in the thumbnail, David. Classy.
HAHAHAHA!!!!
Cool thing about Bannon and the Genji glove, you can tell him no 3x, OR you can tell him no once, then talk to the returner soldier in the top room and he'll give it to you right away. Then you can tell Bannon yes and move the story along.
Does that still work in the Pixel Remaster?
@@generaljimmies3429 yea!
While playing this game, remember:
Sabin can Suplex a train. ☺️
Or use a Fenix Down on it.
At the very end of the Floating Continent, you're given an option to wait or jump. WAIT or you'll lose a character permanently. I didn't really see any indication hinting that you need to wait leading me to jump during my very first playthrough.

I just started ff6 for the first time. What makes Locke the best?
So grateful for this game!
And if you're javing trouble beating them just use the ulitmate ff6 cheesing technique
Vanish + doom.. 😉😉
My favorite Final Fantasy ❤ Love from Belgium 🇧🇪 ❤
I agree with the magic being the most powerful with one exclusion. Genii Glove x Master’s Scroll ( Offering for Super Nintendo ) Atma Weapon/Light Bringer ( Excalibur SNES ). You could give it to someone who has a normal attack that hits different characters per turn but that is the most damaging. I have it on Edgar and routinely hit 9999 x 4 and high 3000’s to 4000’s with a possibility to cast Pearl.
I'll always call it 3!!! It says 3 on the game itself, and on the box, so it'll always be 3 to me!!
I agree. I still call ever Dragon Quest game Dragon Warrior. Whether its 3 or 8 it'll always be Dragon Warrior to me!
I was 4 when it came out, so I've always known it as 6. First time I played it was the PS1 port
Thou art so wise with thou's words sir @ToolShopGuy
@@supersaiyaman11589 hard agree. if any ff game deserves a remake ala ff7 intergrade its ff6
Heck yeah! FF6! I hope you do more tip videos for classics like this!
My personal tip is to not underestimate Mog or Gau! Yeah, their abilities may not seem as obviously powerful as someone like Edgar, but if you take time to learn the ins and outs of the Rages and Dances, they can bust out some powerful moves no other character has access to
This will always be my favorite thing ever. Better than any game, book, movie, show, music, etc. This is the best part of my childhood.
Every nintendo direct or ps showcase I wait for a chrono trigger or ff 6 remake. I'm still waiting
Why remake perfection?
I think whoever did the pixel remastered did a damn good job. I think the fans of CT and VI are so hard-core that a real remake will be dukied on regardless of how it is, because it's not the original.
Awesome tips!
Not really that big a tip, but it blew my mind when I found out you could save Cid. I had multiple play throughs before I found this out.
Also take note, you can steal some AMAZING gear and weapons from bosses in the World of Light, the Magitech Research Facility being a highlight, here's a few examples:
Number 128: Kazekiri(one of the best swords for Cyan(has a 50% chance of casting Wind Blades) and only one of two, the other being found in the Cave of Espers. Equip a Genji Glove and you can dual wield Kazekiri blades for Cyan)
Number 024: Rune Blade or Blood Sword(go for this)
In the Crane fight you can steal a Debilitator from the right crane
Awww this was the one game that made a jrpg fan for all time , still to this day my fave final fantasy 🎉
A hints and tips video for a game I've 100%'d more than 5 times??? Yes, I'm going to watch!
Still think you need to cosplay as Sabin. You are as perfect for him as Patrick Stewart for Professor X.
I already did, and I even posted pictures
@@davidvinc Now I must find them! I always imaged Sabin and Cyan basically adopted Gau for some reason lol.
Great game, one of my favorites. Never realized how many attacks were tied to the magic stat
Yu put yourself on the thumbnail big dawg? 😜😁😂
Sabin is always my self insert character. Possibly my favorite all time jrpg character.
Thank you so so much, I wish I watched this 10 years ago
Sabin thumbnail🤤
Save and heal your party before flying the airship in World of Ruin.
This is the kind of content I appreciate for old games... you can really screw yourself out of great builds on these ride or die games.
Thanks dude. Really looking forward to playing 6. I'm only up to ff3 but I need to see them all through.
Great tips for one of my favorite Final Fantasy's
I just beat Final Fantasy 6 for the first time ever earlier this year (for the GBA - of course not a modded 3DS... never.. lol) I never knew about about half of these tips and especially wish I knew about the Moogle Charm.
I also played the game without using a guide, so I lost a certain character in my playthrough. (Not Mog. I'm not evil)
I'm thinking about playing the Pixel Remaster version for another playthrough, because although I enjoyed the GBA version, I would like to see how other versions play. Plus, it was a fantastic game.
Thanks for this video. I'll be using it for my next playthrough in the future!
Best USA Super Nintendo JRPGs

Lufia II Rise of the Sinistrals
I bought this game used for $40 back in the late 90s and spent close to 100 hours in it. I couldn't believe how big of a SNES game it is.
I like the Sabin cosplay, David!
I wish I saw this video a few days earlier. I literally just passed the river part lol
I oughtta do one of these for Final Fantasy IX!
Flash! Easily my go-to with Edgar in the party. People would gush about Chainsaw but I could always count on my trusty Flash to attack all. Never knew that about the magic stat though... all the more reason to use it.
My tip and trick would be to use Gengi Glove with an Offering and 2 strong weapons and watch your character 1 hit most mobs/bosses.
Final Fantasy 6 is a masterpiece and is a must play for any JRPG fan.
GOAT series entry alongside FF IX to be honest. I wish they also had the remake treatment like VII
If u were wondering what I'm doing awake as its 2 in the morning over here I can't sleep so I thought I'd pop on here and watch my favourite man
Try falling asleep to that review compilation video I did :)
That would never work I love your voice too much 😍
You only need to tell Banon no once and then go and talk to the guy in the back room, and he gives you a Genji Glove.
The Hero Ring is even better than the Earrings. It doubles both magic output and attack output.
This game needs a delicious remake.
I was hoping ud be in your sabin outfit
My favorite jrpg of all times .
Vanish Doom. I wish I knew that one as a kid.
I prefer to put characters like Sabin with vigor boosts and with Genji Glove and Offering. He does huge amounts of physical damage.
End game Locke with genji glove and offering with atma weapon and Ragnarok sword
About that Locke needs to be around lv 80+ for that the Fixed Dice can randomly hit for 9999 damage even around lv 65.
@@veghesther3204 you're supposed to get the sword cus you can still learn ultima from the cursed shield
i started pjaying this 2hrs ago an this shows up, thx for die Genji Glove Hint
In the Pixel Remaster versio, can you go back to a previous save (WoB) with all of your stuff from WoR? If so that is the best tip.
I foolishly exploited the Lethe River loop with my turbo controller before realizing all the stat buffs I was losing out on because I didn't have magicite yet. Then it became a game of limbo-leveling to see how low I could go until I got to to Zozo 🤣
Slightly off topic but I recently learned Yoshitaka Amano did art for a MtG card and now I need it..
I was a bit disappointed to hear that the pixel remaster changed the way they are set off (with an onscreen guide and failure prevention), since I weirdly liked the minor memorization and the controller not properly registering my inputs (they were powerful enough that I didn't mind the occasional flub).
shadow and gau and sabin are my favorite characters
Nice thumbnail pic there.
I used to do the exact same thing!!
@@davidvinc Shadow, Sabin, Celes, and Edgar were my "dream team." :)
Okay... I just have to say this dude is probably the handsomest, most jacked nerd I've ever seen.
You’re not fooling anyone. That thumbnail is just a picture of you, not Sabin
Moogle charm!
