The Yawning Portal - Tucktuk's Trinkets and Terrain Ep. 8

- Using the upcoming Wizkids Yawning Portal terrain set, I create my own Yawning Portal to use in my Dungeons and Dragons games. This was a rather involved and long build, but I am very pleased with how it turned out.

I was inspired on seeing the $350 price of the WizKids set to do the exact same sort of build, right down to building an infinity mirror setup at the bottom of the well. Thing is, I have zero plans to actually use it in a game, so I'm building this giant thing that will take storage space but probably serve no other purpose :p
I'm going mostly wall-less and have modified some 3d printed wood support beams from Thingiverse so I can slot magnets into each end and make the upper levels easily attachable/detachable that way.
I’d love to see it when you’re done!

Very nice build.. I think the stairs are a nice concept, but should be wider to allow minis to use... Because you know bar fights need top stair slams!
I genuinely went back and forth on this exact thing for awhile, but I ended up deciding to go with the shorter stairs since I thought if they were wide enough to fit minis, they would look a bit too goofy. I do appreciate the feedback though!

At 35:45 I'm pretty sure that piece of wood is an alternative channel piece from a shifting lands guider pro? Unless you don't have one, obviously. It's just a really common tool in the hobby and I'm pretty sure I have the same bit of wood floating around my materials.
Now that you mention it, you are totally right. It’s been in my junk box for so long I forgot I threw it in there.
