first thank you to your family for keeping these videos up.
yesterday I bought the bearing and installed it as Ken instructed -
    it worked ok,
** now I know why he saved that spring and pin [in his other video]
as it made going back soo much easier. :D
So I chose going back to the longer 3mm 10mm .50 pitch adjustment screw
as I prefer the feel of the 2 stage trigger.
knowing by the "feel" of that "wall" just before a leetle smooth pressure applied to let it fire just right [for me]
so I have the bearing to try on another project. :)
    very nice fix and adjustment
    awhile back I bought and installed a 3mm 10mm machine screw -
    followed Ken's adjustment instructions -
put screw in just deep enough so it didnt latch/catch or engage sear when breaking over the barrel -
then backed off 1/4 turn [it worked well as I felt the wall, but too hair trigger for me] :o
after a few trial adjustments i backed it off around a turn or so - until it felt good to me, just as I like it. :)
your results will vary as to what you like.
i feel a very smooth stage until the trigger is up against the wall of the firing stage.
a little steady pressure. . . I feel it let go and I am happy. :)
*yes I did the slap test, the bump test and the safety works fine. [always best to be safe- avoids those holes in places you off target] :O
I like the feel and will be ok right here with my consistent groups of pellet holes over lapping each other.

What a great video! I grew up reading outdoor magazines, learning about trigger pull from the written word. An OK way to learn, but trigger pull needs to be FELT. This video did the next best thing, and SHOWED me how trigger pull works.
I grabbed my Benjamin NP too, and started playing with the trigger set screw. Holy cow, what a difference! I finally understand the whole idea of first stage, second stage, “the wall “, and how it all comes together. This video should be mandatory viewing for all beginner shooters! It is that basic, that important, and this video is that good! Thank you so much for taking the time to put this together. 👌🏻😎

hey Kenny I got the same gun and the only thing is if you get the screw or you want it you need to put a little blue Loctite on it because it seems like once you get it where you want it and then the more you shoot it it'll start to back out and then the first thing you know you're not hitting that that wall and then you didn't the gun gets goes off a little bit of blue Loctite really helps at gun

Can it go off while cocking if it's too light? Like, can it slam shut or something?

    • @senatorjosephmccarthy2720
      @senatorjosephmccarthy2720 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      z dub, Yes.
And always hold the barrel in a way it cannot slam shut while loading. For instance, the action under arm and the hand around the barrel.
The slamming has been said to bend barrels.

I have the exact same model, but the stock trigger is way too heavy. So for my trigger, I replaced the stock spring with a spring from a Bic pen. Funny as it may sound, I was able to tighten the trigger adjustment screw all the way for a short pull, and have less than 1lbs pull.

Less than 1 lb? Have you tried any drop-tests to confirm how safe that trigger is?

Would the Benjamin classic trigger adjustment be the same?

Kenny I just purchased a valiant 22 cal. And it does not have that clean stop. Or predictable second stage wall. By Benjamin Ironhide does have that definitive stop. And so does my friends valiant .so basically it's acting just like if you back that screw all the way out. Taking away the second stage.I've watched every video there is and none of them are explaining How to fix this issue. One of the major reasons why I got the valiant was because of the clean break trigger. I want that predictability.so my question is do you know what the problem is and why this is happening. And how to fix it. I don't care about the long length of pull or creep.I want it to be just like how you described your trigger was before you made any adjustments.

My Summit also puts pellets through the same hole all day. Doesnt even seem to be very hold sensative.

You shorten the first stage by screwing the screw in. This will not shorten the second stage. In order to do that, some file work is needed. I like my trigger short and light. No two stages to it. Just don't put your finger on the trigger until ready to fire. That's how a professional does it.

The scope that came with mine seems wildly inaccurate. What's a good optic for this rifle? I shoot pests up close a lot so im thinking a red dot

Do you turn the screw to the left or the right to loosen the trigger pull? What I'm asking is do you turn the screw to the left or right to get a light trigger? I need help please as soon as possible. Thanks in advance.

    • @zome53

what ya do is to replace the trigger spring that ya can get from Ebay it is the SLT trigger kit to get a light trigger pull also back out the trigger adjustment screw turning it to the left in which your first stage will be long and your second stage real short, Benjamin/ Crosman only have one set screw for making adjustments to the trigger pull of which ya can't adjust first stage and second stage pull length seperately, it's a balancing act of which if ya turn the trigger adjustment screw in you will have a short first stage and a long second stage, if ya turn the trigger adjustment screw out you will have a long first stage and a short second stage

When you said turn the screw back a quarter inch, I assume you meant a quarter turn?

You failed to tell your viewers that the screw needs to be turned Clockwise to lesson the trigger pull.

If you loosen "left turn" the screw until you no longer feel the wall of the second stage before the gun fires, it's too lose. Then turn in "right turn" a little at a time until you feel the wall of the second stage before the gun fires. Turning in more will increase the pull weight and travel distance of the second stage. Getting right on that balance point of the start of the second stage is the sweet spot or hair trigger he was talking about.
Removing the trigger spring will make the first stage super light. This will make the feel for second stage hair trigger fire more sensitive.

I've got one of these HATE the trigger, WHY? what's with having to adjust a trigger

    • @senatorjosephmccarthy2720
      @senatorjosephmccarthy2720 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Terry Grant, don't live the trigger for 200 shots, so the parts wear in. Then clean and air compressor blow out the trigger well. Then use only Pelgun oil and lube it well. Then experiment with screw adjustments and lighter spring.

@@senatorjosephmccarthy2720 Glad I saw this before doing an adjustment. I have about 20 pellets thru and separated 200 in a pill container.
